Hey guys, it’s Ian from StichMethod Guitar. If you are reading this, then you have helped transform my life in ways I could never imagine. I know how it feels to have support from a close community and I want to share that support with my Good Friend and Neighbor, Matt. Matt needs help, he really does, and today I’m here to ask you for some help with Matt’s medical bills. Matt is a great guy who has always helped me out with any and all house questions from electrical installs to plant health. He is a warm soul and is selfless in his personality and actions.
Matthew Sanchez is 30 years old has beautiful 5 month old daughter. He threw his back out working at home in between jobs and has NO insurance. He has THREE herniated disks, L3-5 and L4 is protruding so far it’s almost completely pinched off his sciatic nerve. Matt can barely walk more than 10 minutes and he can’t hold his daughter. He currently can’t go to work to earn a living.
As his neighbor and friend it really pains me to see him struggle just to get around so I figured let’s use the power of the StichMethod Community to help him out.
Matt has done a ton of research on doctors in the area and has picked Dr. Fine. Dr. Fine will do the surgery but it is not cheap, it costs $60,000. All I ask is if you have gotten anything out of StichMethod Guitar, a smile, a riff, an “ah ha” moment , then please consider giving something not to me, but my good friend and human, Matt Sanchez. It really all adds up so, whatever you are comfortable with will go a long way and will be beyond appreciated. Hi Stitch, I’ve submitted $60 of your American pounds. Had your neighbour suffered this ailment in the UK, then he would be covered, regardless of his employment status. This is not the time for me to bang on about how the NHS have save my arse on numerous occasions , but please assure him I do not see this as a charity donation, but rather, a citizen’s right to appropriate healthcare regardless of their employment/insurance status. Do send on my best wishes for his speedy recovery.

I know the feeling Broke 10 bones a few years ago riding dirtbike collapsed a lung etc… been dealing with my back ever since spent many nights and days laying on the floor😂 wouldn’t wish a bad back on my worst enemy I’m currently waiting to go into a chronic pain clinic.I wish for a quick recovery for you’re friend! Just take it one day at a time and stay positive:)(One good thing that came out of it for me was I’ve had lots of days off to learn most you’re playlists😂)

I really feel for your friend. I had 3 hernias myself (still one to go) and it is not pleasant at all. I'm lucky to live in Quebec, Canada where everybody have public insurance so I will not have to pay in case of a surgery. I hope your friend will get better very soon. Cheers from Canada guys.

Ian if i had much money id be taking lessons directly from you . But you have given me the freedom to navigate the fretboard and sometimes even though im always in key but sometimes I sound like i know what im doing and thats due to you . By the way i just spent two and a half months flat on my back and what I could walk was with a cane so tell matt even though it seems unbearable at times it will get better

I've had issues with back for years too. When I'm pain I have that same stance as your friend - hips shifted to the right.
Putting on socks during acute pain/spasm is the worst!. Ice if you can -- keep the inflammation down. Heat can help during spasms. Turmeric , the spice, is a great natural anti inflammatory. Won't interfere with other medications. But need to take a lot. DM/ email me if you want some other info from my years of experienceb with this.
