I’ve been following this build since the onset Geoff said he thought it would take 3 years but seeing the progress I think might take more.
I’m 82 now and in reasonable good health so hopefully I’ll see the completion of this wonderful build

With all the "punch list" items still left to do, your decision to make this a DIY project is in question. Nice to have all the time and money you need to do this at will. Cannot imagine this DIY in a normal use case.

It's going to be game-changing when you can rough backfill around everything, bring on the pour! ❤
Walk under a loaded bucket! Keep your life insurance current. I'm a lifelong logger and miner and never took a risk like that.
If you're a life long logger then you know the odds that a tree limb falling out of a tree will kill you before an excavator bucket comes off and kills someone. I build bridges for a living and have been in the construction business for the past 20 years. Yes it's ideal to not walk under stuff just like it's a good idea to wear a life jacket while in a boat.
Every time I see Chris do something new with the excavator it looks like he's done it a million times before . Experienced operator for sure . Who's the music at the end ?

I suspect you will be ready to move on to the next phase when the last form is up, and the concrete is poured. I admire your perseverance. It is going to be a showplace for sure. I live on the other side of the country, and cannot imagine ground that easy to work. Also...the song you closed with was excellent. I need to hunt it down. I have about 25 years on you, and I am a bit jealous, I have a set a plans for a dream house I did myself about 30 years ago that I would love to build, but it isn't in the cards.
My body is pretty used up at this point. My career wasn't one where a feller can get more than a middle class income, but I feel like I made a difference in many ways. I am very thankful for every sunrise the Lord grants me. Keep after it, Geoff, and thanks for watching.

They can only be staggered when the length is evenly divisible by 8”

So the plastic is stapled from the other side since it is covered in gravel now?
The plastic weave (Fast Footing) is only there to keep the concrete on the side we want it to be
I still don't get how the fastfoot stuff is gonna work... I know you said it gets stapled up, but I see gravel on top of it... how's that work? Thanks for videoing all the work 😊
It’s only there to keep the concrete from flowing out the wrong side. The concrete flows into the floor so that the floor and walls are connected as one shell

I really enjoy the videos, however every one you back off the pour ever further, very disappointing I thought ICF is supposed to be faster , regular forming is done in days not months.
Regular forming is done in days on a regular size house and by a large crew of people that do it all the time. This is a large complicated project that I’m not working on constantly and I built a very complicated two tiered pool at the same time. Plus filming and editing schedules.
It's time to place some concrete.
And they say you can’t get anything done sitting on your butt, you prove that wrong lol
