UPDATE: I saw Peter today and he told me that a leaking clutch slave cylinder was the problem. It had leaked on to the clutch plate so it needed a new clutch. It cost him about £450 to get it fixed but it is now all sorted.
Nice touch with the credits at the end of the video, this is what separates a quality production from the run-of-the-mill vids. While this video didn't sort out my issue, (clutch pedal return spring destroyed/missing), I did appreciate the attention to detail and acknowledgement of the input of the behind the scenes crew that made this production possible. Thanks for the upload.
Glad you noticed the subtle humour with the end credits. I did take inspiration from the Project Binky guys and developed my own style. Sorry to shatter the illusion but it is basically just me. This van needed a new clutch kit which fixed the problem. Thanks for your kind words.
The rubbers in the clutch cylinder are letting fluid pass not leak the replacement part has a stronger rubber spit cannot by pass the fluid Happy mothering guys
I have the same trouble for years and after 20 visits to Renault garage so many bleeds of the clutch to and a complete clutch and slave cylinder for 40,000 miles in london traffic my friend told me to simply change the clutch master cylinder as it’s a fault on them,he’s a mobile mechanic and repaired lots of them They were made with a clutch master cylinder ending in 65 R the replacement part is a 78R fixed for over 40,000 miles now and never an issue again I also took the garage to court in chatham Kent and won £2,000 plus county court order all from a main dealer Renault was NOT HELPFUL IN ANY WAY JUST CHANGE THIS PART ZND IT WILL NEVER STICK TO THE FLOOR AGAIN 👍👍👍👍
The clutch pedal sticks past the biting point so it is otherwise still working fine. It shares the fluid reservoir with the brakes and the fluid looks normal. The Primastar is just a Renault under the skin.
I posted an update in the comments. I even pinned it. I was hoping to make more content with this van but Pete hasn't asked me to do anything else with it. As far as I know, he still has the van.
Just a few points, I was driving a company Vauxhall Vivaro on a 63 plate & it had the same problem especially when driving around London I used to have to put my foot under the pedal to get it back I never had a chance to drop the gearbox off to take a look at the clutch but to me it did feel like the clutch was sticking when it got hot, the owner of the van always kept his foot on the clutch pedal when sitting in traffic which as we all know does it no good at all especially the release bearing (thrust bearing) I've since found out that he put a new clutch plate in by himself hmmmmmm & also had a new set of brakes fitted I noticed on the Nissan you was looking at it had a new brake pipe fitted so before taking the gearbox off I would possibly think about changing the fluid & giving the clutch a good bleed that's if it's the same system as the Vauxhall ? or even look at the slave cylinder maybe ?!?
It seems to be operating normally aside form the pedal problem. There's no sponginess in the pedal so I reckon the problem is with the pedal itself. The pedal sticks past the biting point so the van is still usable. The Primastar is just a Renault under the skin. I was just trying the simple stuff first and hoping that it might free itself off.
My clutch was on the floor at every gear change and had to lift the pedal with my boot however it’s all fixed now and I still have a full clutch system immaculate all of it sitting in my yard doing nothing /

That is a typical problem of Trafic/Vivaro/Primastar after 200000miles
It has just over 149,000 on the clock.

Won’t see the slave as it’s inside the box
Slave is probably failing causing the fault
Slave cylinder is either leaking or needs bleeding with pressure going through the system
It was a leaking slave cylinder which contaminated the entire clutch which had to be replaced. I did post this in the comments.
Hi mate did you actually test the fluid

Parknest it’s the same as a vauxhall
It is a Renault under the skin. I put an update in the description. The clutch slave was leaking.
It not just a Renault it vauxhall as well did you k ow that
I want 6 minutes and 32 second back
NOBODY was forcing you to watch the video.

@Parknest I see it now thanks mate all the best

@@Parknest The Vauxhall pedal was the some no sponginess either, It will be interesting to see what you find out on this one.
@@michaeltongs8546 😬
@@michaeltongs8546 How did that work out Michael? I have the same problem and think it might be the master cylinder

You're getting good at it Leon.
