Not giving up my retro Jordan’s. I’m not dressing like young folk... they’re dressed like me. Those are from our time.
My man!
Amen
On point👍🏾plus jordan himself wears them, and he's 57 years old.
well said...
Truth
Man, I'm all for minimalist clothing but I'm not giving up the sneakers OG.
NEVER!!!
😂
Facts 😂😂 I'll be 89 in 1989 Jordans
You are a CHILD
we had the majority of sneakers before the new generation we had em 1st why we gotta give them up
Please Don't let the opinions of others deter you from wearing what you want to wear. You have your own personal style and flair, there is a time and place for everything! Take some advice, I understand BUT don't feel like this is something you have to do! It's your Life Dress How YOU Want!
Real talk. I look at this, and LOL, hella funny. Opinions are like, bu..holes everyone have one.
Facts💯 aint no way there's a rule of what to wear lol. Just do what you please or what makes you happy or comfortable🤷

I am an inner city teacher, 57 and workout. I am at a crossroads on this list. Keep in mind Jordans, runnings shoes etc. came out when we were in high school and college. Our generation gave birth to a lot of what is cool. my personal verdict is if you are over 50 and in shape then you can wear whatever you please. Keep up the good work. I've been a fan for a while now and a subscriber.
I'm 44, and I'm not giving up my sneakers 😂 I do dress up more but when it's time to rock the Js I bring them out
@@WeBeTripping I know that's right. I just bought a pair last week.
I think there is nothing wrong with older men wearing Jordans. It looks fresh. Jordans have become a stylish sneaker more than a basketball shoe. I love seeing men in them.
@@kristin8270 Good point
Exactly, I'm a sneakerhead and always have been. I wear what I love to wear. I don't wear my Jordan's or Nikes because they are trending.
I personally believe style has no restrictions. The Style O.G. gives some nice tips. But if everyone dressed exactly the same. Then that's not style. Style is about creating your own look. If other people don't like it, then that's on them. Cause everyone feels good when THEY THEMSELVES feel like they're looking good.
This is 100% the truth
That's right. And of you feel good it will show.
1 thousand percent!
Facts!!
Facts!! Each to it's own if you can afford it.
Jordans are in regardless of age.
95 air max too
Facts
Nope. An old as 43 year old man should be joked of all foot sizes and body types. Plus, the sneakers (tennis shoes, etc) tend to absorb the pants “trend” usually off the “butt!” That is not for a grown man. Mature sir!
I'm 43 as well. I will be wearing J's and wingtips until my last breath. The Style O.G opinion is valued...but it ain't the law of the land.
Nah
I hate when people say dress your age. You should dress like you want and not care what other people think.
I think the reason alot of people aren't giving up on Jordans is because they remind them of their childhood. Plus Michael Jordan himself dresses pretty stylishly for his age.Alot of his clothes he drops are age appropriate. And his line of apparel represents excellence.
MJ uses a stylist, Jordan's on choice in clothes is pretty garish and he still wears a lot of athletic wear...
You must have never seen mj dress. He stuck in the 80s
Jordan dresses horrible. Big baggy Jeans.
You can dress stylishly and mature with retros. This whole video is overboard lol. But I get some of his points
Michael Jordan dresses well?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
A man with self love and confidence can dress any way he sees fit. His style will Glow!
Wrong!
Especially if you take care of yourself
Right I'm an ex 11 bravo I could give a shit what people think I wear what I like.

I'm James Inman and I approve this comment 👍
I'm 40 years old. I still wear Jordan's and I feel totally comfortable wearing them. I wore Jordan's when I was a kid starting with my first pair (Jordan 5 Fire Reds in 1990), so I'm a real OG who didn't just jump on the trendy train. I've wore them pretty much all my life, and now I'm being told I can't wear them because I'm older? That's like telling me I shouldn't eat pizza because I've been introduced to more sophisticated and diverse foods....but I still love pizza, and will continue to eat it. Just like I will continue to wear my Jordan's. I'm not trying to look trendy or feel young like the young crowd, the young crowd is trying look and feel like me😎
Love this !!
I am quite sure that even an 80-year-old grandmother would feel very nice and comfortable in a bikini on the beach!!
Just like you feel comfortable in Jordan's.
But that has nothing to do with good taste in dressing.
@@kapetannemo don't be a moron. You're comparing oranges to bowling balls. I'm not an 80 year old woman in a bikini. Nobody wants to see that shit. Not even 80 year old men or women. 🤣
Bruh give it up. My air Js collection now retired an stashed somewhere bro time passed by an we gotta move on now
@@___Anakin.Skywalker ok, I'll retire them, but can I be buried with my whole collection, wearing my white cement 3s? Thanks
As a freethinker I live my life for me and dress and do whatever I feel. For some reason even as a teen I've never cared for other people's fashion. At 42 I wear fitting dockers, fitting plain T shirts, Vanns, Chuck Taylor's, sometimes tennis shoes and I still love sports cars. The older I get the more I really don't care for other's opinions.
In other words you never grew up.
If that's what you want to call..You guys are fruity worrying about another man's fashion. @@BKDDY
I’m with him about 15% on this one. Grown men wearing other men’s names on their backs on sports jerseys has always been weird to me since I was young.
I also always thought baggy or tight pants were goofy as well since I was young. I never wore those, so I don’t know what age has to do with it.
But to be honest, a lot of what he’s talking about here kind of comes off as insecurity and low esteem. No diss, but as a grown man, nobody is going to tell me how to dress.
If you’re not attracted to the way I dress, move on. I’m not in need of attention or petty women who still judge a man by clothe over character..
I dress in everything from sweats, J’s and Timbs, to suits if the occasion calls for it. Not because it makes me look my age, but because I WANT to. Lol.
Real talk if I wear a jersey it's my favorite team custom made with my name on the back I can't even see myself walking around wearing some other man name on my back
Yea Custom is the way to go
I'm 41 and a sneaker head this trend never goes out of style young or old everybody got a pair of Jordan's 💯

Same here man!!
Well put
wear whatever you want, the key is confidence over everything else... & most certainly don’t let someone else determine what you wear...
Its just a little cringe when you see a 65 year old man in basketball shorts 3 inches past his knees, 3 sizes too big, with a Lakers Beater Jersey, a 2inch gold rope necklace and a marijuana insignia hat and socks.
That's just not right. But if you can afford a 2" gold rope necklace, then Brother, you go heed

Thanks brother man. I needed this. Blessings

Sign of immaturity. But if you’re young then do.
Exactly and that’s the key!
@@chefboyrobbie7119 has nothing to do with being immature! If that’s the case then that would apply to the OG since he still wears his and I know you don’t think that of him! Like he said, it’s how you’re wearing them. Some of us can still pull these things off unlike some of you all that are in your upper 30’s and 40’s and look like someone’s grandpa! 😂
@@sevens732000 maybe not immature but no matter how you style them or how well you think you can wear them, you still put in category when you wear them

Wear what you like to wear, just because you’re older don’t mean you have to dress conservative 24/7; yes it’s good to have formal wear, but what’s more important is how you treat people from what you got going on on the inside, people are going to feel how they feel about you no matter what you wear
Grow up man.
I believe in dressing according to your lifestyle and what makes you feel comfortable. I mean true we should have clothing that is fit for all occasions but put on what you want in your down time.
@@coolpeople4287 telling someone you don’t know to “grow up” because they made a valid point is a bit childish, if you want to base your whole life on your age because you’re getting old then do you
@@jameshutton6636 Oh. . . I see I must've hit a nerve. You'll be aw'ight.
FACTZ!
This was good to watch. I'm a 51 yr old artist and cats like me can get away with a few things. Strangely, some years ago I had gotten approached about doing a podcast for brothers of a certain age regarding their clothes. I didn't have time to do it but I really appreciate what you said in this video. Spot on. I'm in LA, in the entertainment world and I've seen male colleagues age and try to hold on clumsily. I usually follow a few actors my age for different looks; particularly, Jeff Goldbug, Sting, George Clooney. Ages like wine. But you are 100% correct about shoes. I did the over the top designer shoes then fell back to J's and low top Gucci. With the current trend of sneakers and suits, your sneaker choices don't have to be over the top. For example, I have no use for a high top sneaker. I just don't. Love the vid. Keep it up!
Great information!
Never giving up my Jordans or any other of my sneakers. I’m 42. Can’t give em up. If the Lord sees fit, I’ll be wearing them into my old age.
80s babies are built different, there was a joke about people saw over 25,30 as old because of how they dressed in the 80s lol

Appreciate the input!
Gotta agree. OG 1s are cool and can be worn by OG’s maybe 3s as well. But 1s are timeless. The other trendy sneakers I can understand. But not 1s.

Og offers great advice but but Jordans are ageless. Why we gotta stop wearing them when they first released during our time
I disagree with him heavily on that I'm going to wear Jordans and yeezys until I'm dead idgaf. They can be rocked at any age.
@@Arcilios They released during our time. Its alot the youth brings back fashion wise that belonged to us so we shouldn't have to give it up. Imma always wear Jordan's. Also what's old? You being old is mentally how you see and carry yourself. I'm pushing 40 and I remember my parents at 40 just being way too old. I'm not like that and gonna enjoy life till I'm gone. My age won't stop me as long as I have health
@@trollgod7565 For each their own. Everyone is their own self so everyone likes what they like. Living in Chicago, Jordan's to me are more a memory of a best times with the Chicago bulls. I don't know who he likes because I don't know him personally or any of these designer's. It's just something to wear for me
@@trollgod7565 GTFO with that BS. We know you wear them, and it's obvious you don't know how much MJ does for African American communities. You should do some research before making that dumb comment.

I disagree with the Jordans. My dad (he's turning 60 this year!) wears Air max 95s in BRIGHT RED and pulls them off so well with jeans and printed tees. He's got a good sense of style for his age
exactly
My dad loves his red high top 1s. And he’s 73!

it makes the older person look immature! but i guess we all have our opinions!
Great advice and I totally agree with you!!
Great video man! I agree with most if not all of these
I'm not a Jordan fan, but i still wear Nikes. It's not about what you're wearing, it's about your mindset and how you carry yourself. From a young age, I've never followed trends. A trend was whatever i want it to be on that particular day. Once you worry what others think about you, you've lost control of self. Appreciate your advice my brother.
I'm 41 and cargo shorts and t-shirts will stay until the end of times! Younger folks love to dress like us!
I'm 34 in July, I wear black n white Tees, either camo cargo shorts or track pants. 365
I’m 50 years old and I haven’t worn a pair of Jordan’s since I was 25. I dress my age and wear what I find appropriate. Young folks have their time and I have/had my time. Fly for Life
Like saying young folks shouldn't wear Stacy's or Biscuits.
Appreciate this 🙏
Jordan’s always in style young kids looking like us more than us them 😂
Big Facts!!!
Facts 4 surw
Exactly. These are our classics
I'm gonna keep rocking my favorite sports team's jersey (during the season). I wear it with a team hat, black or dark denim jeans with minimalist white or onyx sneakers, and a sweet timepiece on my wrist, and I get tons of compliments on my look as an O.G. Some of us can pull it off at our age, and some of us can't. I can! 😎
yes the jersey one was complex to me because I see a lot of fashion blogs saying just dont wear jerseys after 40 but I see people in their 40s and even 50s with salt and pepper wearing baseball jerseys casually and some look fire. Not one of em looked bad or I thought they were trying to be young. Baseball jerseys just look good to me in general so im on the fence about that one.
Thank you, OG for reiterating what I’ve been doing right keep on with the keeping on ! 65 n moving
Every point was on point! You have my sub sir
Welcome aboard!
Depends on which Jordans and how you wear them Jeff. I've worn my Jordan 1s, 3s, and 4s with a blazer, t-shirt and jeans and they never looked juvenile.
Appreciate the input Dave !
Exactly! Only the retro original Jordan’s that he actually wore! Not none of these remixed versions with all of the horrible color ways!
Appreciate the advice OG but I have to disagree with you on sneakers. It’s all a matter of perspective and fashion is subjective. I agree with you on the super trendy stuff or big basketball type sneakers but Jordan 1’s have become for a generation of men what Converse Chuck Taylors are. They defy age. The mistake is when older dudes try to match their sneakers to their clothes and adopt younger trendy looks. It’s also an income disparity. When rich guys wear sneakers they are stylish (JayZ) average dudes are told to let it go. I don’t seek approval or permission from society to wear what makes me comfortable. Sneakers aren’t acceptable in every situation but when I’m running errands or even dressed casually I’m in sneakers. I used to wear a suit and tie everyday prior to working from home due to Covid. The last thing I wanted to wear was a blazer and hard bottoms after work or on weekends. Do you, wear what makes you comfortable. Respectfully.
@@scottclay4154 great post, fam! one could turn what society does at the moment to get some ideas (and, even inspiration) on how your age group moves. trends change and do so often (e.g., should and shouldn't wear/do). but, ultimately, you are the iron fist on what you put on your back and feet
Thas a lit combo my boi ...wit out a doubt

I agree to some points but I’m wearing what I want at 38 years old. If I look good in something, best believe it’s getting styled. I’m a Jordan collector so I’m not letting them go. My dad was 58 in sweats, J’s and a solid T to match. 🤷🏾♂️
Fact I'm 50,I were sports gear Jordans I were what want I don't were suits I'm not on wallstreet
That's wut it is anyways. Why would we stop a fashion trend we started? In fact, all the fresh sneakers from our era still reign supreme. Much respect giving props to your father.
I think it depends on where you’re at. Dress for the occasion
I collect stocks and property, not sneakers. Grow up.
It's not about the sneaker ,so much it's about your attitude and level of maturity. Are you still behaving the same way you did in highschool or have you become more mature and intelligent. It will show in your choices, Jordan are for a boy still living at home, broke and stupid.
That was some great advice for me. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Definitely getting the follow
I agree with most of his suggestions especially wearing Air Jordan’s and ripped jeans but the problem with a lot of older men is they don’t work out . Not keeping your body fit will take away from anything your wearing especially if your core isn’t together. So my advice for men over 50 is to get your OG body in the gym or your really gonna be an OG!
Ripped jeans and Jordans are not the same... Jordans were made for me and my age group,... The only time we wore ripped jeans is because we'd ripped them fighting, playing a sport and running from dogs and police ... I don't do 1s but every shoe Michael wore is cool for me and the age group... Them after retirement (2nd one) joints were made for the kids... Saying you shouldn't rock the brand when you're slender and athletic, even at our age, shows Jeff is catering to a specific percentage of men, even if it is subconscious...
I agree. That’s y I’m getting back into shape
Agree

J’s weren’t made for the people wearing them today. They were made for me. I was 14 when the 1’s came out. They age out our hip hop vets even though no other genre of music does that. I’m not about to get aged out of what I like.
"There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes." Doctor Who quote aside, I have to disagree slightly on the Jordans. I feel the style you showed has a classic silhouette that if the shoe is a part of your personality, it can be rocked.

@@TheStyleOG So what do u say to the likes of Spike Lee, Jay Z , Brad Pitt, Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith , David Beckham, Dr Dre and the man himself MJ whom are all still rocking these trendy sneakers....Are they they too old? Do they infact look like they trying too hard?
I definitely agree og.
Great Content I agree with most things you presented some things I believe you have to be true to yourself. I will keep up with future posts
Honestly I feel like most of the points in this that I do agree with, also apply to me at 32, and to guys in their 20s. Oversized logos are trash no matter how old you are. On the other hand, sneakers and distressed jeans should look as good at 45 as they do at 25 if you are styling them correctly.
Basically I think Jeff is making the mistake of assuming that over the top, brand obsessive hypebeast fashion is even appropriate for younger guys; it's not appropriate for anyone at any age, it always looks trash. Stylish menswear on the other hand, whether casual or smart, is timeless and not age restricted.
There about as trash as calling your Dr. On social media , lol now that’s over kill for sure , seems to me both are showing off way too much …!!
First! Unfortunately, some of us aesthetically still wear the same things we wore in high school. Step your game up.
Step up !
Guilty as charged, I gotta do better
I wear some of the same things but I stepped up my career!
@@ericjordan6059 Something to be said about that....If ur money right , rock whatever the fuck u want.
I was in the casino last week and two young bloods on separate occasion called me Unc.. and Old School. I knew then I had to step up my game lol
Thanks OG. Everything that you told us not to wear I’m definitely going to wear. FOOH
💯💯💯😂. Fasho
This mane said no trendy sneakers and pulls out an OG retro Bred 1…. El oh el…
You really are out here changing lives OG. After watching many of your videos I looked in my closet and realized I had some changes to make. Got about 20 pair of fresh crispy Jordan's, Yeezys and Kobe's. Just ordered my first pair of chelsea boots. You probably gone have my wife looking at be sideways wondering who I'm getting so clean for. Keep dropping fresh game for us OG. Salute.
And all those shoes could be worth 10x as much in 20 years. I wish I had kept every pair of shoes I've ever owned. About 20 years ago, I probably threw away a grand in today's market...
I may not be able to give up the OG Air Jordan's but I definitely respect your advice, and definitely on the dress shoes. Very informative overall.
Appreciate the feedback!

I get the Jordans thing, but these wild colors they got now, u gon be 30 plus lookin like a clown
@@v.m.m.7729 fr only sticking w OG colourways… the upcoming reimagined white cement 3s look great 👌🏾
Just hit the big Double Nickle & with you on almost everything, almost… Give up my Jordans? I could never.
I’m glad my Dad sat me my brother down and gave us that talk about clothes years ago
Getting older brings out insecurities about ourselves... Have confidence to wear what you like and wear it comfortably... Be yourself, and be sure to carry on that Jordan legacy just conform it to your look as it may change as you get older
You’re never to old to wear some sweats and some J’s.
That's the truth casual wear
Yeah you are. Only black men try to hold on to a young style. Time to grow up
@@tblk1860 No I’m not. I’m 39 not 60. If I go to a picnic, go play ball, or go for a walk, I’m wearing sneakers and sweatpants or joggers, and I don’t look like I’m trying to be younger than I am. If you want to wear church shoes and slacks for every occasion, go ahead and look like a weirdo. I dress according to the occasion like a normal man and don’t waste time overthinking what a subconscious moron like yourself thinks.
Yeah you are. Nikes are good for kids not adults.
@@dociebiemowie915 You’re clearly not an athletic person. That’s okay. Staying active is not for everybody. I play ball, jog, and work out. I’m not a person who believes I should just let my body rot after 30 like you might.
I did a clothing n shoe wear test n this is my conclusion. My face is the reason why ur women is moving my way. Thank you 🙏🏻 you guys for trying hard or well just thnx.
On point. Only struggle is sneakers. Can’t abandon my Jordan 3s and K-Swiss. Loud color hoops & running shoes.
If I'm out and about during the day or wearing activewear Jordans are ok, going out at night to nice bar or restaurant not so much...
All depends how you do it....your fave rapper over forty
@@zdogronim yep...Will Smith ,Jay Z, Dr Dre , Cl Smooth...They still goin to fancy restaurant's wearin J's... 😆
brainwashed.
because u wanna get laid or feel socially acceptable? accepted by your peers that they don't socially shame you with there eyes or remarks later on? You can wear whatever u want to a nice restaurant or bar, u don't have to be a preppy business type so every1 thinks you fit the part...
@@CstWstFllwer I go outta my damn way not to look like the preppy business type at all costs..Yet that is how I have to appear at my job..The only time I'm not wearing J's, Nikes, or ol school vans.. I get the feeling that many bros on here are trying way to hard ...🤟
Just discovered this channel and am binge watching it. I'm 48 but am just becoming aware of how I dress now. I've made considerable progress but have a long way to go. I recently went from wearing basketball shorts in public to cargo shorts, but I'm now going to move away from those too after watching this.
The good thing is I always wear minimalist shoes, no bulky soles, zero-drop etc, and I love them.
welcome!
As I’ve entered my 40’s, I made a lot of changes in the way I dress to match that. I was always in jeans in my 20’s and 30’s, but now I prefer chinos and a pair of Florsheim oxfords (super comfortable dress shoes!). In summer, I got rid of the baggy shorts for above the knee form fitting ones with a solid tee or polo and some slip on casual shoes.
This sounds like 70 year old style. NO thanks.
It's not. I match the same outfits with Jordans or Lebrons and it looks great. @@BillBynum

I agree with you for the most part.
Love the style advice as always, however, I will keep my retro and favorite shoes when I grow older, i.e. Jordan's and Timberland
