In dishonored. The game also got more difficult the more violent you were. Killing led to more corpses, infected, rats, and increased guard patrols. Some levels have a few key guard locations. Where on max chaos it can have multiple walkers in the same area. The game tried to punish you for being chaotic and not playing stealth. Or itâs a reward for people who like combat.
Man I love dishonored got me into games
I'm not super far into Dishonored but I already love how much freedom is given to the player in how they approach a situation while still challenging your personal playstyle in a way that feels fair and makes sense within the context of its world.
True, but stealth suffered from being pretty shoddy and more based on luck than skill due to inconsistent AI.

Sometimes when people ask me which is the worst game I've ever played, I often say like For Honor or something that is only bad because the multiplayer has really bad balancing and is so rage inducing. Now I genuinely have an answer after two hours of playing

I remember when For Honor first launched soooo many years ago. It was universally panned and unplayable and Ubisoft took a few years to turn it around. It was evident that the game would be dropped but from what I've seen, they really tried turning it around

Arkane has not released a decent title since the founder, Raphaël Colantonio, left the company in 2017.
He worked as a game director/designer on every single succesful title that the company released: Arx fatalis, Dark messiah of might and magic, Dishonored, Prey.
He left to go on to create Wolfeye Studios that, under the publishing of Devolver Digital, has released the critically acclaimed rpg Weird West.
As it is apparent to me, Colantonio was what made Arkane what it was, and without him, things aren't working out.
There are probably more reasons to explain the "fall" of Arkane, but missing its founder/lead director/lead designer, i don't know, seems like that would be a pretty big issue for a studio.
I'm scared what Bethesda will do to Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. I really hope they don't mess it up, as I love those franchises.
Depending on who you ask, they've already fucked up the franchises, like they believe everything after morrowind and new vegas sucks balls. I myself like skyrim and fallout 4 so hopefully they don't drop the ball like they already did with those two, but considering how game development is these days, the bar is set reeeeeal fucking low and I won't be surprised if the games come out a shit-show with lots of scraped/missing content.
I had avoided this game because every time it was shown it looked quite bad. Also Arcanes gunplay has always been the weakest part of their games. But holy crap i was blown away to discover this was a looter shooter. I can not express how tired i am of shoehorned gear stats that mean absolutely nothing that cause me to spend more time in menus destroying worthless loot than actually playing the game.
Remember that first time you fought one of the mechs in Dishonored? Or the electric phantom is Prey? I think that's what they tried to do with the Lumiere boss. but failed in every possible way
I was really looking forward to this game. Vampires are my favorite classic horror monster, and there aren't many video games with them in it. I thought if anyone could pull off a fun co-op vampire shooter, it would be Arkane. To quote the funny purple man, reality is often disappointing.
If you want an actually good game with vampires, then I'd highly recommend Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
I didn't see a single ad for it before critikals vid dropped on it, hadn't even heard about it. And he was shitting on it, won't even finish it. Now I get an ad for it every few ads pretty much.

I think it's gross that companies can embargo reviews to that point, it's obviously used to keep them from being held accountable. A month out, sure, maybe they'll change something with the game that'd impact reviews, but days before release should be free game
if the review positive then they'll let it fly but if negative they'll obama drone strike you since negative review can cause people to cancel pre-orders

You got the hitman cutscene stuff wrong, in the first game of the new triology, IOI was partned with square enix and could afford to use high cost motion capture, but then IOI bought out square enix because they felt like they had a strangle on them. So hitman 2 had still images (not 3), and hitman 3 goes back to mo cap/in engine cut scenes.

@@no-barkthechosenone2436 itâs absolutely worth it, itâs all about trying to keep a combo going and finding the most optimal way to run thru the entire level obliterating everything in your path to get to the end of the level and back as fast as possible. Itâs impossible to die, and you can only lose during escapes because of pizza face. Itâs incredibly fun and very charming, so imo itâs 100% worth it

One (of many...) issues that I've noticed with this game is that you fight way, WAY too many vampires. If I were to design it they'd be a lot more spaced out, much made much more powerful than the generic enemies. Make the cults the main villains you fight, and leave lesser vampires as super elite enemies, mini-bosses, and proper bosses. From everything I've seen they don't feel threatening at all, especially when Pyro here can kill one after another without even really trying
It would be like if Resident Evil 4 threw a Ganado with chainsaw, Garrador, Regenerator, or Gatling guy at you like every other combat encounter and had them die in just a few shots. It would just make the ecounters feel like nothing and make these strong elite enemies just pointless.
