I do want to clear that, while I do genuinely want ‘real world’ experience, and feel my very privileged situation which enabled me to do what I love for a job, I also am fully aware that this was by no means the reality of some bar work, or some other real jobs. I was very lucky to be in on a quiet day, which is why I served my friends, and I didn’t go into this with the intention of upsetting or offending. Just to have fun and learn something ☺️ enjoy the video 😋

Hey Luke, I hope you enjoyed your Christmas / holiday time. I work in retail. Have worked in the retail sector for the past 4 years. Everyone's seems to hate retail but honestly you have some good days and some bad. Just like any job, I suppose. I've worked on checkouts and on the shop floor of Homebase and Sainsbury's Tu Clothing department. I'd really love for you to somehow work in a checkout assistant/ shopfloor job. (FYI Checkouts is easier as you dont need to know as much about the products, you just scan peoples products and take their payments.)
Let me know what you think... I just think its helpful to work in retail as you have to deal with customer complaints, put out the stock, make sure the shopfloor is tidy and serve customers as nicely as you can. Hahahaha :D Big Hugs from a fan.

Do retail next! (If possible) I think it’d be entertaining to watch you sell shoes to people
retail terrifies me but i would love to do it !
Also, for people who are looking into this, there are really simple templates online which would help you write a basic and clear CV!! (Totally for free as well.)
And even getting experience/a trial shift like Luke has in the video, is something which is really useful. It helps employers find out who you are as a person, but also allows yourself to see if the jobs are something you would or wouldn't enjoy. It's okay to trial something, and then realise it isn't for you.

yeah like I've mostly volunteered but the time that I did have like a 'am being paid real money' job-everyone expects you to not totally know what you're doing at first and have a lot of questions so it'll be okay don't worry.
the fact you paid for all the customers drinks just shows what a selfless person you are. I adore you❤

Same! Cafe for three years, Sainsburys for Christmas last year and have been at the CO-OP since - literally the best job I've had so far! (Trying to get into the forces so just doing simple stuff in the meantime 😁😁)
I have literally NEVER had an interview this comprehensive. In my experience, they'd see you have no experience and just chuck the application in the bin

It's a partnership program they have with Microsoft, where they partner up with selected community creators to make content for the in-game Marketplace which they introduced last year, basically allowing for more content in-game, and giving back to the creative community, since it IS a shop and creators get a fair portion ^-^
