I think the defining moment of my life was probably when I had brain surgery last year. My pain medication wasn't entered into the computer properly when I woke up from the anesthesia, so for several hours while my surgeon was doing another surgery I was in the worst pain of my life. I was begging the nurses in the Intensive Care Unit to put me back under until they sorted my meds out, but they couldn't because they'd have to intubate me again to keep me breathing. It was BEYOND excruciating! The reason I consider this seemingly bad experience to be one of the most important moments of my entire life is because I now know that I can handle almost anything that life throws at me! The surgery and procedures I've had since then have been a total piece of cake, and I'm certain my next one in 3 weeks will be the same. I don't think anything will ever be more physically painful, so bring it on, world! I can take it!

I am currently almost sobbing because this video couldn't have happened at a better time in my life. My defining moment is when I was I believe 11 Years old.I got up on stage and sang in front of people maybe like a thousand people at a charity event for a solider that had been killed. 8 years on and i still have my passion for singing and have always wanted to do something with it. Being almost 20 and having to work horrible jobs for not a lot of money has a bad effect on me Mentally and Physically so a few week ago yet again I quit my job and I've been kinda lost on what to do next. This video just made me realise I can be that 11 year old again I should sing for charity or at least something similar.
Anyways To anyone reading this if your lost know theirs always a way out. Just be patient and Keep trying

What I’ve learned from this video is that Wales is absolutely gorgeous and a puppy on a train is the best thing to ever happen to a person.
The defining moment of my life was probably the 1st of September 2013, the day I developed the symptoms of my first chronic illness. Following that was a year and a half of hell until I figured out a method to bring myself out of a flare. Until the 1st of June 2015. When I developed my second chronic illness. That I still haven’t recovered from.
It’s defining in the worst way possible really. I’m the sick person that lost everything, I had to quit school twice, lost all my friends, am unable to do anything as simple as sitting up for long. But it also defined my resolve and perseverance, defined the love my family has for me and defined the strength I always overlooked.
I’m a sick person. I will always be a sick person. But I won’t let it destroy me. Even if it defines me.
P.s I went from “aaawwww he knows he’s special” to “nooooooo his heart was broken” in 3 seconds, I was not ready for that emotional whiplash.

Little sad but my defining moment is actually getting into As It Is and going to see them live for the first time in 2014. I ended up finding a burning passion to work in the music industry and following their tours allowed me to go to uni without grades and live in one of my fave places. I met my ex boyfriend who was in a band who opened for them in 2016 which allowed me to learn so much about music and myself as well as meet so many incredible people. I met 90% of my friends today through their shows and have created the best friendships I could ask for. Through the community and speaking to the band has encouraged me to be a better person, to stop smoking, to stop drinking, to go vegan and be healthier. I owe alot to that band and I wouldn't be the person I was today without them I don't think.

I remember one of my friends was getting made fun of in primary school for having a dragon toy, and I was always a shy kid but I found the guts to stick up for her. I was pushed to the ground but he stopped bothering her after that. That moment really defined my values I think, wanting to stick up for people who aren’t considered “normal” I guess.

My defining moment. I became visually impaired 4 years ago. It changed everything. My friends couldn't handle it. I was in excruciating pain every day, I couldn't go anywhere by myself and I had to give up most of my hobbies. 5 months of help before they gave up and I had a corneal transplant, thus restoring some vision. My sight isn't anywhere near what it was before my disease tool hold, but I'm okay with that. It caused me to reevaluate who I am as most of the things I felt made me Me, were gone. I also learned who my real friends were, the ones who stuck by me when things were tough and I'm very thankful for this for changing my perspective on me and life

Hmm, interesting question! What directly comes to mind is the night I was in London on holiday. I was about 8 years old at the time. I sat in my hotel room with my parents and when browsing through the channels on the television I ended up watching my very first episode of Doctor Who (I'm Dutch and it isn't very popular in the Netherlands). At the end of the episode, I remembered saying somthing to my parents like "I really liked that, I'd like to watch more of this show sometime". I'm 20 years old now and completely obsessed with the show. The main character became my role model, the show showed me what kind of person I wanted to be, what values I admired, and it may have inspired me to become a "doctor" myself (I am studying veterinary medicine right now). Who knows what kind of person I would have become and what career I would have chosen if it weren't for that one evening that I happened to be in London when Doctor Who happend to be on the telly when I was browsing through the channels..

my defining moment of my life would be moving 3 and a half hours a away from where i was growing up and starting my new life and then my parents divorcing. This meant that i realised how much my mum and family had a close relationship. How much my dad was there for me (very little). It meant that my dad and the rest of my family worked harder to actually have a relationship. I met so many friends that i feel i will have for life and a boyfriend that truly makes me happy. I'm studying a course i absolutely love. Even though during this time my mum fell very sick and at one point we thought she was dying, and i got depressed, it meant i learnt how to be independent and grow. My relationships i treasure and feel very grateful for. I'm grateful for the holistic development that I've been able to have and what I've learnt. Never take anything for granted.
I wish i could tell my 8 year old self that it's going to be okay, DO NOT TRY AND CONVINCE YOUR PARENTS TO MOVE BACK UP, and that it'll all work out, as back then i didn't see that happening.

One of the most defining moments of my life was when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I had written a story for English class and for some reason my teacher thought that it was good enough to put in the school library. I worked with some older students and my parents for a few days, typing up the story, designing a cover, drawing pictures for it, all that stuff. Then I printed it out, put it in a folder, and gave it to the library for them to put on the shelves. When I was leaving the library, I felt so happy and special and I decided that's how I wanted to feel for the rest of my life, so I started writing more and more stories with the hopes of becoming a published author one day. I'm now 16 and it's still my dream to be a published author :)

The defining point of my life was probably all made up of different parts throughout growing up, I realise new things and grow as a person all the time. However a significant moment to me is probably my illness as a 2 year old (cancer). I don’t really remember it, but I have always felt as if the fact that I got through it and survived has made me know myself and have confidence in myself as a person ever since. It’s made me believe that I am strong and I remind myself of that all the time, so uh yeah.

You always post such uplifting videos when I'm not having the greatest week but they always inspire me to change the way I thinking about my situation and I come out of these moments feeling refreshed. At this moment In time I can not think of an life changing (self purposeful moment) but that doesn't mean I don't have one, I may just have a collection 😅 xx some could be my finding of CZcams, but most importantly the community #presitc/ the videos that could change my day or the fact that I'm not alone in this world. Yet another moment is when I found my love of the Irish and the fact that the music, the place or even the accent could pivot my entire month by taking a short break to take in the things I love xx I have learnt that yes the world not spin around me, but I can spin with the world xx

So far I’d say the defining moment in my life was deciding to audition for my schools musical in 6th grade. Way back then I didn’t really know anyone who was in the show except for my two friends from elementary school, but now that I’m in my junior year almost everyone I’m even vaguely friends with is involved with theatre in some way. All my close friends from middle school, the new people I’ve met since coming to high school, even my first (now ex) boyfriend are either actors or technicians. I pretty much spend all my time that I’m not in class in the drama room at my school, and I honestly would be such a different person today if I hadn’t decided I wanted to be a part of a mediocre at best performance of once upon a mattress 5 years ago.

I guess one of them was when my grandma died when I was in fifth or sixth grade. When I heard she was dying I cried and cried, but when she actually died a day later I was stone-faced about it, like no emotions whatsoever. I had already gotten all the tears out I guess. Ever since I don't think I've cried at tragedy, just kind of sat in and stewed in it. I don't think that's healthy, but it does help me in my job I think. I'm a nursing student but I've already seen tragedy and been able to calmly help a family through it. It also makes it easier to talk about death to people who need to hear about it.

I haven't had too many moments that could be considered "defining moments" but if I had to go and choose any, it would probably be the day all of my friends were drawing my little pony fan art when we were 12 and asked if I wanted to join in. It's really dumb and seemed really insignificant, but that's probably the moment that got me drawing and made me want to improve, and I probably wouldn't be pursuing an art career if it hadn't happened, and I don't want to think about where I would be without it.

if I'm honest I think the defining moment in my life was probably the day I became friends with my childhood best friend. It was a rough time for me I was being bullied every day and I didn't know it at the time but I was probably depressed I felt like no one cared about me that I was a worthless piece of crap (which unfortunately I still think about myself now sometimes). But then I met him and well he was nice to me, and it made me realise that my original thoughts that a person can only be what others force them to be, its how you react to what other people treat you defines who you are. Because of that, I was like my friend, is as nice to everybody as I can, unfortunately, that's lead to a lot of pain and I've questioned it countless times but I know that its lead me so much good, like my friends, my family, and hopefully my future. I and he are still close friends and I'm still going through rough times but I still try to be nice and help people whenever I can. Now I know this has been a sappy post but I felt in the mood for it so thanks for reading and sitting through the probably terrible grammar!

If I had to pick a moment that defines my life now, it'd probably be the moment that I met my best friend in the summer of 2016. She had transferred from a comprehensive down south, and I was given the job of taking her to all of my lessons so she could learn her way round the school.
Now, 2 and a half years later, she's the best friend anyone could hope to have. She makes me laugh so much and I never feel awkward around her like I do with other people. I can talk about anything with her and I know that she'll listen and give nothing but support and advice. She has truly made me a better person than I was back before I met her.

Probably when i applied for the brits school. I don't think i would of been as happy as i am right now if i didn't go to brits and i wouldn't of met so many amazing people without it and i wouldn't of been given an award for a short film that i may not of had the experience or motivation to film without all of my film and media classmates being supportive of each other.
I also probably wouldn't of applied if it wasn't for you because you inspire me to make videos and write scripts for short films so another point may of been subscribing to a youtuber who talked about emma blackery a lot and i wouldn't of found you and evan and dodie and cherry... list goes on

There’s a fab ted talk on this exact thing you’re talking about - the speaker describes it as a ‘lollypop moment’. Deffo search it and watch it!
My defining moment would probs be when I saw JLS (rip) outside signal 1 radio station in 2011 and it was then that I decided that Journalism was the career for me - I really wanted to be the person who sat in the studio with celebs and interviewed them about their life! I’m now in my 2nd year of Broadcast Journalism at NTU and loving it đŸ™ŒđŸŒ

Defining moment of my life was failing the 11+ to get into grammar school... because of that I went to a different school where I met the person I’m still with 7 years later... 💖 love this video

I don't think I had only one moment. I feel like I was made up of an accumulation of small moments that seem insignificant to other people but for some reason I seem to remember and then I realize how those moments affected me until now. Like this one time in 5th grade during a science fair, a teacher was grading an upperclassmen's project and asking them questions while some of us watched, the person couldn't answer one of the questions and I suddenly piped up and provided a suggestion for the answer and the teacher nodded approvingly but one of my classmates whispered, "Don't do that. You can't act like you're smarter than them," or something along the lines of that. Made me stop raising my hand in class.

I just bought my ticket for going from Edinburgh to Glasgow next week. But the mobile ticket thing apparently isn't available in Scotland yet. Still excited for my first time in Scotland. I don't think there's only one defining moment but one could be when I decided to fly to London two years ago to see a few local bands on their first tour because I've been over in the UK so many times now. It's scary every time but I'm getting better at traveling on my own

My defining moment was when I had both of my legs operated on and thought that I would become very popular when I went back to school. Yet when I did go back, I was ignored, bullied and made to look like I didn't exist. That month, in which I was recovering, I really discovered that the world didn't revolve around me getting liked by everybody and that these things come in time, such as friendships and relationships.

My primary four teacher gave me an old maths textbook at the end of the year and I brought it home and taught me brother 8year olds maths and now I’m studying teaching because that’s all I’ve wanted since then! If she didn’t give me that textbook I might not have realised teaching is what I wanted to do!

Mines gotta be when an old friend just randomly asked why I wasn't a vegetarian which made me think of empathy in a whole nother light and now I'm genuinely happy like all the time as long as I'm trying my best to make someone's life a little less shitty and also I'm on a path to working with animals because of this. I usually don't do this whole commenting thing aside from random quips but I'm proud of my focus on empathy even tho I'm not good at it so I wanna share why.

I think I had more than one defining moment. The first one probably was my first show with my children's circus when I was around six and discovered performance for myself. The second definitely was the moment I started getting serious about improving my art which was when I was twelve years old. The last one isn't happy or inspiring or anything but it still defines my life every day. It was my mothers death because of cancer in March 2014.

i wonder how many life changing events we've had we don't realise have completely altered our personalities and life. it's so hard to pinpoint a single event that caused something and it's crazy to think how we've most likely forgotten the events that changed us.
