How to set you base timing on a standalone ECU, with a timing light

    Good stuff bro. Definitely a must do for any standalone setup. I know that megasquirt has a latency setup to compensate for the ignition creep at higher rpms. I'm sure ECUMasters has something similar.

      Oh it most definitely does. I just prefer not to use it, since I think it's only a band aid fix.

    Nice video. But put a towel under the laptop and that thing on the roof to not damage the car. I hate when shops put tools and thing all over my car and dont thing about what they are doing to the paint and panels. A little care goes a long way. Otherwise great video.

      Not a bad idea, but I'm ahead of ya already! I put these foam feet on the bottom of my toughbook to prevent that. It's almost like the mousepad foam material. As an added bonus, it keeps it from slipping and sliding!

    So on the crank pulley it’s on 0degrees ?

      Yes. If you have a timing light with a dial. You gett the dial to match in the ecu, and it'll try to hit TDC
