I love seeing the guys from the Pre-Mcgregor era still fighting. They're all old school and seem realer than the newschool, fight hyping fighters.
And both are fighting in the next couple of cards! Condit is on UFC 264 and brown is on the Jung vs Ige card I believe

The neck beard era a sight to behold
There was no "McGregor era" what the hell. Most overhyped fighter ever. He's the real neckbeard. Khabib era it was he was undefeated and unbeatable in all of his fights. Unstoppable force of nature. Condit & Brown are two of the best killers and most entertaining athletes in the octagon. Condit never got knocked out. Even after taking bombs from Lawler.
@@Sigurjon96 there was definitely a McGregor era. He brought so many eyes to the sport and was pretty much the only fighter casual fans talked about. I dont mean it was an era of dominance, just of hype. If you werent watching the sport before McGregors run, you wont understand. It was so rare to randomly meet another person who was interested in MMA, then McGregor showed up and there were a few years where even people who didnt follow the sport were talking about him. It was wild.

Carlos has ALWAYS! had some of the most beautiful striking in the UFC. the way he puts together combinations is just a thing of beauty
Agree bro. I think he has the best combination in the UFC. The way he execute it with feints, level changes and mixing his strikes with punches, kicks, elbow and knees is f*cking beautiful.
An uncrowned king, He's in my top 3 all time favorites with Max Holloway and Tony Ferguson.

Condit has always struggled with his takedown defence but his ground game and reversals have always been great. Both of these guys are warriors.
Matt brown is a striker not a grappler.
Condit has lack of wrestling that's the reason why he has dogshit takedown defense but his jiujitsu is so slick, he reminds me of Tony Ferguson they have the same style of jiujitsu.
That's probably because he's so confident in his ground game, especially off his back.
When i was just starting to watch UFC, the promos always told us about Condit training in the mountains with an altitude mask, i thought it was the most badass thing ever!
Prime Condit vs Porier at welterweight will always be on my fantasy matchup list

condit too big would dominate. Condit 6'2 walks around at almost 200. Poirier 5'9 fights at 155. Terrible matchup.
Poirier would get merked lol. Would get picked apart at range and running into knees and elbows trying to rush in.
We've seen a closer fight to this in Diaz vs condit, he ran
5 years ago there would have been more blood and carnage ending with a finish.

@@Drewjitsu4 Carlos would finish brown any point before 2016, they weren’t really on the same level for the most part.
I have a Condit NBK t-shirt I never wear so it can stay new. My favorite fighter of all time. He was never the same since he lost the decision to Robbie Lawler for the title, a fight even Dana said Carlos won.
He should have gotten a rematch
Lawler robbed everybody - realistically he lost to Rory (1st fight), Hendricks both fights, Condit, Brown, Cerrone.
@@crewsade4197 Not so sure about those hendricks fights. Hendricks just kept hiding his head in lawlers crotch area and continued to wall and stall.

@Urk3 because they were already past their prime. I believe they were scheduled to fight years ago but it never happened.
They were booked to fight each other years before that but someone got injured.
the amount and variety of technique displayed in this fight is just mind boggling, perhaps the most amount of technique ever displayed by both fighters, you can see many sharp high level striking combos, wrestling and judo trips/ takedowns, reversals and even guard work. Most fights consist of two fighters using pretty much the same techniques, or utilizing high level striking or grappling, but rarely using all at once
Its sad how crazy the casuals get over nick diaz and totally ignore condit
Nick Diaz is my favorite fighter without a doubt but Carlos Condit is up there as well. He’s got such an iron chin dude. Rematch when he fought Robbie lawler? Such a bangin fight.

Dang Condit was a mad man! UFC is just not the same anymore.
Both are legends, I really wish that fight happened in their prime tho, that would've been a garuanteed 5 round absolute war. They're still alright here, but definitely passed. I was surpised Matt opted for a wrestling approach tho, even if Condit's takedown defence is bad, he definitely underestimated his grappling.
Condit is a fighter. Durability and Endurance with True Grit and Tenacity to constantly go for the finish until the last round and endure and perserver finish attempts from his competitor. Skillwise he's a Black Belt level Jiu Jitsu and Black Belt level Muay Thai. Borderline stereotypical skillset of a top 10 MMA fighter. But the intangibles are anything but typical.

This should have been the BMF fight but just came too late in their respective careers. I love Matt, hands down my favourite fighter and I always hoped he might Bisping his way into a title shot but now I'm concerned about his long-term health. He just doesn't take a body shot anymore, ever since the Ellenberger fight. Sadly, I think he should bow out.
