Quite pleased now 2 years on that I’m a retired State Pensioner, and nice to be 68+, nice to be able leave my working life and dole offices behind me once and for all.

Although I was deemed unfit to work, I chose to do self employment so I could manage my disabilities. I worked 7 days a week and had no holidays. When I was too poorly to work I could use 52 week linking.
I saved hard to save a nest egg for my pension.I bought premium bonds and did very well. Now I'm being migrated from a non means tested benefit they are going to count my pension savings so I will not be allowed anything as I have over 16k.
It's really unfair to think I could have stayed on the sick 32 years ago on £120 non taxable benefit. I chose to work to stop me vegetating and now I'm really burn out and can't work any more as my conditions are much worse, they have transitioned me onto universal from working taxed credits .Also I've got another 5 1/2 yrs to go to get my pension.
All my pension savings are now going to be used to pay my living expenses and all because I worked instead of sitting on my bumper and saved as hard As I could.

Could you not buy an asset? Just sell it later. Like a piece of jewellery/something valuable

The system is designed to serve the few at the expense of the many. Now you know, don't punch down at those unable to work, punch up at those who make all our lives miserable & remember, scum rises & shit (not wealth) trickles down. We are ruled by the least among us & if we want a better world we must become better people, for the well being of us all.✌🧡

Quick query I have a relative on carers allowance and income support and just recieved migration letter for income support, to move to universal credit and make claim by mid September 2024, my question is should I hold off making the claim to nearer September as I read that as soon as I make the claim my payments would stop after 2 weeks so as my income support runs till September. I could potentially have no payments between now and probably October if I claim early on to move over, l Hope query make sense to you and hope you can advise me

Hi, thanks for your question. We would strongly recommend that you seek a welfare rights advisor. That advisor will advise the client you whether it's better to move immediately or to hold off until closer to the migration deadline. Each case is different so it would be best to speak through your own circumstances with them directly so they have the full picture. To hopefully help you get started, you can use our Turn2us Find an Advisor Tool: advicefinder.turn2us.org.uk/

I wouldn't bother. She thinks claimants benefits are enough for people to SAVE from - ROFLMAO. She is delusional !!!
