I watched this movie with my mum and sister, and I cried my eyes out! I thought the room would flood with our tears. We all cried and went to bed, with red eyes and sadness

My aunt showed me this on VHS when I was a kid and maaaaaannn that ending had me in my feelings.
I just watched the movie. Actually I'm too late , but this a purely a full of emotions and calming. I wasn't expecting that tragic ending. Loved this one from the heart. I don't know after how many days I'm going to stop crying about this.

Allergic to bees. What bad luck. I cried whenever I watched this as a kid. Saw it the other day as an adult then cried again. Now I know why I'm such a weepy person. Don't how this to your children!
I think it’s ok for pre-teens and up. But I agree I wouldn’t recommend it for smaller children. My mom saw a clip of it on the cable channels growing up. Macaulay Culkin was my hero as a kid. I imitated him in Home Alone constantly. I then asked my mom if I could watch this movie but she said no because he died near the end and she knew how much I loved Macaulay Culkin. I was 7 then. She said I could watch My Girl 2 though because it took place after he died and Vada does mention what happened to Thomas J in the sequel so I wasn’t really that confused. I saw the original when I was 14. It was sad but I didn’t cry just because I knew what to expect.
I have to thank my sister for kinda forcing me to watch this with her when it came out…still cry to this movie to this day…

When a boy & a girl becm friends... & Just friends, I luv it. It always reminds me of my female friend who passed away in 2012... God, I miss her dearly!!😞

This movie is so cute. I remember me watch it before my first kiss. The beginning of third grade. I was so longing for it. 😊 And thereafter it was. The first kiss. So nostalgic. But time flies. Catch it before its gone..

I love both part 1 & 2 of My Girl. Part 1 brimmed me with tears🥺& with Part 2 I cackled😂 especially at the end when Vada & Nick kiss at the airport.

I remember I was a kid watching this movie.... and I couldn't believe the ending was so tragic for little kids!
Such a beautiful film, seen countless times and still makes me cry, the film is a real emotional rocket. Such films are no longer produced these days, in my opinion the film made cinema history and you have to see it.

Not a bad deal for two disc set.

Just pretend the sequel is Veep
Yeah the sequel just isn’t anywhere near as good because the story isn’t as interesting and Vada doesn’t have to deal with the same trials she did in the first film. The very best part of it is towards the end when she spends time with her moms first husband who she finds out about. If the movie had been more about that relationship I think it could have been great. Definitely not a bad sequel at all, because there are so many bad ones out there but still a step down from superior original.
