  • We ride the Weped SS Electric Scooter during a BAESK8 group ride and capture some raw FPV footage on the GoPro. BAESK8 is our local electric vehicle enthusiast group and features a diverse set of vehicles including electric skateboards, electric scooters, electric unicycles, OneWheels, and more. The Weped SS is one of the fastest production personal electric vehicles out there, and while we don't push it to the max yet, we have a pretty good time on it.
    The Weped SS scooter has not been released yet, but you can find the GT50E and soon the SS here: bit.ly/buyweped.

      I know darn well y'all driving FASTER than some 35-45mph in San Fransisco🛴.... Honestly it should be a crime to drive so slow on city roads. Seriously I've ridden Fast pace scooters and Slow pace ones. You will get KILLED and/or ran over in the big city where I live driving so SLOW on saya Bird or Lime... The faster your Scooter is the more respect is usually shown by passing motorist in my case anyway. 😁 Although you will ALWAYS Encounter the RAGING LUNATIC CAR/SUV driver that wants to either RACE you or KINDLY RUN YOU OVER...! 🙃🙄 I'm so SERIOUS 🗣💯

      Now that's true my friend, and with that in mind, the drivers swear they really think that they have more rights then we do and that which is also true too, and they're right, but rest assure, the rules will indeed change when the people at Washington DC hears more about the incidents that is happening with the bikers and scooters getting hit hard with motorist that may quietly or secretly thinks they really do own the street and again, that will change everything and wether they like it or not, they have to cooperate with the laws that is given to them period, furthermore, if they continued to ignore the law which it's pass through the congress, they also will get hit even harder then the bikers and scooters, they going to have to learned to share the street and respect them as bikers and scooters do respect them as well.
      Thank you.

Its hands down my favorite scooter out right now. Until then though I'll just have to ride around on my Thunder 😛

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 4 lety +1

      Yeah you really have to get used to turning on the square profile tires, I’m still not used to it yet, which is probably why I slow down a lot on the corners. Thunder is still an awesome scooter for sure, and I’m still loving mine.

    Great to see that perspective and thank you for the video. I took a video of riding from the Ferry building to my house in SOMA this past Sunday. I never thought I would miss the crowds and hustle and bustle but I did. I still get out almost daily for some activity and it sometimes includes a Dualtron Compact ride. I try to stay away from any areas that could have bigger groups. Bike lanes seem to be the best place most of the time. Stay safe and healthy.

    • @RCDevotee
      @RCDevotee Před 4 lety +1

      @FarnsworthIII I own many scooters and everything has relatively narrow tires. It took a ride or two to get accustomed to the wider, solid tire. It is a rougher ride but I ride it at full capability a lot of the time. I am usually between 35-40MPH. I wouldn't carve on the Compact like you can do on a rubber, pneumatic scooter. It is amazing off the line with its acceleration on those small tires.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 4 lety +1

      Awesome, yeah I'm going to try to get out and ride a bit as well this week, good for physical and mental health. Didn't realize we were neighbors in Soma, but I'm moving next month down to Bernal Heights myself. Maybe we can grab lunch before I leave Soma if this panedmic ends :-p

    • @RCDevotee
      @RCDevotee Před 4 lety

      @FarnsworthIII One side note. I was able to test ride the scooter at MinimotorsUSA as it is close to San Francisco. The guys at MinimotorsUSA ride their Compact the most and they can ride any of the Dualtrons and Wepeds they have at the shop. It tells you a lot about ride of the Compact once you get used to it.

    • @RCDevotee
      @RCDevotee Před 4 lety +1

      @@AlienRides That would be great. I am sure you will still be heading down this way on your scooters and we can test hill climbing at Bernal Heights.

    • @RCDevotee
      @RCDevotee Před 4 lety

      @FarnsworthIII Be careful on it as it is a torque monster. You can easily get pulled back on full acceleration. You will think it is too stiff initially but you will love it within a few minutes. I already had a situation where a 3" drywall screw embedded in the rear tire at speed. I was able to just pull it out and keep going. This would have completely shredded any pneumatic tire out there. The Compact just laughs at it and keeps going. I have driven the Thunder and it is a great scooter and more comfortable. But it feels like a Cadillac versus a Ferrari in terms of suspension rigidity.

      Yeah, this thing is crazy and it's got a lot more power in there too 😳

    • @NoNORADon911
      @NoNORADon911 Před 4 lety +3

      I did 46mph on my Q power and was not maxed out but I'm sure that is close to max or all it has.
      Not crazy about the knobby tires, go around corners too fast on the street and they tend to walk sideways slightly. I bought street tires but am reluctant to try to put them on myself because of the hub motors and the wire going into the axle, need to see if I can unplug them under the deck? I called a scooter shop about doing a tire swap and they were not interested in trying.
      Got a rear flat, used tube slime to fix it with great results so at least I was not forced to remove the tire yet.
      The front handlebar always worries me a little that it will break or fall apart. The 4 allen bolts that hold the steering column to the deck came loose, watch for that.
      I have 350 miles on mine so far in about 2 months. I seem to be the only beast scooter around my part of Florida so I am probably the first time many have seen one go that fast. I cruise at 30-35mph, sometimes down the beach right along the water, woot.

    • @AlienRides
      @AlienRides  Před 4 lety

      It's hard to say, but honestly I have more fun riding the Weped SS compared to the Thunder. Mainly because it's faster. I think maybe the Weped finish is not perfect, but the quality is strong enough for its performance, and with some custom modifications, you can fix the Weped SS. I think once Dualtron comes out with the Dualtron Storm, the Weped SS might be in trouble though.

    That's what I am thinking about doing joining a group for group ride's. I didn't know if this is for me cause I'm a bit older. Knock on wood I've never broken a bone and I should have had a lot of stitches 😅. Sometimes I think it is best to keep the emergency rooms for real emergencies. But I do admit that this is very fun. Someone sold me a really fast scooter dual motors 1000w each motor with 2 controllers and the battery is lithium ion 22.23ah 60v scooter with no name on it. I bought it for 1200 bucks and I have gotten up to about 50mph. I've had other scooters before but nothing like this. Very torquey also but addictingly fun. I'm on the other side of the bridge Alameda. Take care ✌️ Michael

    I think for me I’d be happy with the 15.5mph EU e-bike speed on one of these. And if you were to run the red lights (or just have priority in the road system) then you’d still get places much faster than other forms of transport. And probably also if you obeyed the full law because you’d get to the front of the queue at every stop. The acceleration also looks almost uncontrollable, at least in the mode you’re in. I’d want it to be way smoother and progressive.
