    That's almost exactly how I tie down my ride. I used D-rings bolted through the wood and made 1/8" x 2" x 2" flat washers drilled to accept the bolts (helps to distribute the stresses). Tying to the chasis introduces shock loads to the tiedown straps when traveling over rough terrain (including come roads that are "rough terrain").

      I've been really happy with these so far. Just got back from another trip and they worked excellent. The only set back is that they are nylon and if they get wet, you gotta check the tension but it's normal. Thanks for watching Dan!

    Great video! Brakes on the trailer are a super safety feature. While worth the $$.

    Good video with lots of good info. When I hook up my trailer I don't use a pin to lock the coupler I use a padlock. That way I know that it can't come off. Plus it make it hard for someone to steal my trailer when I have it parked. Todd from da U.P. of Michigan

      Thanks for watching and yes I use a padlock when I am not near it … good call! Da UP is my favorite place to be! I’d be at my camp now if I could!

    Sure trac are top notch trailers...

      Yes they are. When I bought my machine, the sales guy was cocky and said "go look at other trailers - you'll be back". As much as I wanted to prove him wrong, he was right and I came back to buy it. Really happy with them! Thanks for watching!

    I use the e track system with straps over the tires. I find the wheel chocks to be unnecessary. Best way to strap a machine down IMO.

      Those eTrack setups are VERY good too! In fact, these bonnets use those type of connectors. I like these for many reasons but one downside is the chocks don't line up with other UTVs and machines like my tractor. Overall I'm happy and may entertain an e-track setup some day (but I'm sticking with the bonnets!). Thanks for watching!

    Did you bolt the chalks into the frame of the trailer or just through the wood?

    • @UTVBoondocker

      Mostly, they are bolted through the wood but some spots were over the frame and I bolted them right through. I've done this on two trailers and it's held us perfectly! Another option is to run a long t-track with the bonnets and either would work great. I really like how easy the bonnets are to hook up and take down. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

    Could you get your machine on a 10 foot trailer?

    • @UTVBoondocker
      @UTVBoondocker  Před 2 měsíci

      Probably not. It fits nice on a 14’ trailer but the 16’ gives it plenty of room . Thanks for watching!
