    Great advice. anyone getting into flipping trailers stay away frome "home made" thats the biggest red flag. Usually some junk lightweight camper frame someone tried to bubblegum into a car trailer that shouldnt haul anything close to what it is "built" for. Just say no to home made

      lol that’s what I’m doing right now old tent trailer to flat deck conversion. But I’m not selling it I’m using it for my side by side and light hauling. My buddy wants to sell it for me he says he could get 2k for it but I personally don’t feel comfortable selling it, I know it will hold up to heavy loads because I’m building it for myself lol

      @@whosaidthat5236 yeah bulding or doing the conversion yourself at least you know what it is and you are kind of doing it "at your own risk". I just meant buying. Ive seen some...lets just call them works of art🤣

      I knocked a pop up tent camper down to the frame and rebolted everything painted etc & I’ve pulled some massive loads with it of logs, I know it’s deffs WAY thinner metal support beams then I’d like to have on a trailer but it certainly is more capable then you’d think by looking at it.

      @@whosaidthat5236 Good call. At worst, sell it as a light utility trailer and don't try to pawn it off as a car hauler like I see around my neck of the woods.

    I love seeing that you haul these with your Ranger because I have the extended cab version of your truck and always wondered whether it would squat with a car hauler on it.

      I had a 2000 ranger ext cab 4x4 4.0 with 4:10.1 gears. I used to buy trailers in stacks back in the early 2000s and I pulled them with that truck. I would buy 3 for $800 each and sold them for $1600. Kansas city to Springfield and back no issues. I also pulled a 21' pontoon boat with that truck. Pound for pound WITH the 4.0 I think it is the best truck I have had and I have had dozens.

      I got a Ranger in April that actually had a Tow Package that wasn't mentioned, so I started looking into potentially getting a receiver put on it or if it would even be worth it.
      Lets just say I've heard no end of people who put their Rangers through hell and back; people who used theirs to haul gravel or dirt, move big trailers, even people who sometimes car haul. It seemed like they just never stopped going. All the engines, while some are definitely lacking in power, are bulletproof, (the 3.0 especially, I keep finding examples of these things regularly going 300, 400, even 500K miles, I know one guy with almost 600K on his), easy to work on, and parts are cheap and easy to come by. In fact most of the time when I hear someone lost theirs it's always some freak accident that takes it; car crash, flood, stolen, tornado . . .
      They're Little Trucks that can do Big Truck things; the vehicle of "They're Probably Not Rated For It, But They're A Meme For A Reason".

    In WI you can get a title issued for a trailer but that requires going through the bond process. In WI a bill of sale won't work unfortunately. Makes it more difficult.

    The only problem I see with this trailer is the 3500 lb axles. That only leaves 5500 lbs to put on the trailer and it is a car hauler. Granted not many cars are 5500 lbs but it does limit the trailer. A landscape company with 3 commercial ZTRs, racks for fuel, the fuel, trimmers, edgers, blowers you would be at the max. Wiggle room is good and ALWAYS use brakes!

    • @apersonontheinternet8006
      @apersonontheinternet8006 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Honestly, 7k is a good weight for most half ton trucks. Sure, a 10k might be nice but then you can find yourself pushing the limits of your truck. Grease and hubs are a lot cheaper than brakes and water pumps.

    What about bad axels, stay away or are you conformable replacing these? Seen a few in my area that look decent but need a new axel. These seem to be able to be purchased new for around $300 or so for the 3500# and doesn't look like too big a job to replace but noticed you didn't mention this one way or the other in the video.

    I'm confused. What is the difference between Title, and registration? The internet says.. " Kentucky - All trailers must be titled in Kentucky. Privately owned and operated trailers used for the transportation of boats, luggage, personal effects, farm products, farm suppliers or farm equipment do not require registration. Trailers used for commercial purposes must be registered."

    • @charliefarms1
      @charliefarms1  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yep that’s right. So you do not have to title if you’re using for personal use. But if you’re hauling cars for money, or making money with the trailer in any way then it has to be titled. Or I assume if you had a lawn care business and used the trailer to move mowers it would need to be titled. Honestly though, the police don’t care here. 90% of the trailers I see don’t have plates.

    • @charliefarms1
      @charliefarms1  Před 3 měsíci
