#Andertons #ChapmanGuitars #QuadCortex - Hudba
Hey all! Thanks for having me guys, was a wicked day 🤘🏻
hmm, that Chris Buck pick holding style...love the playing.
WELCOME!! loved your playing
Great job!
Awesome playing. Will be watching every time you are on. Breath of fresh air.
Welcome aboard!
Personally, I feel that what you need is a presenter who's rubbish at guitar so that I know what it'll sound like when I get one - I'm available!
With a name like Martin Taylor, don't be surprised if some people disbelieve you... :D
Gotta cover all extremes
😂
🙂🤣👍
@@mrpositronia lmao
I'd love to see a video with John and, for example, Pete (but I'm not picky who), where Pete dials in a tone on the victory V40 Deluxe, and then John walks us through getting a similar tone with a quad cortex (or some other digital gear) played through a FRFR, and then bring in Lee with a blindfold and he plays through both and picks his favourite.
I think that would be a valid series. Include "classic" tones too.
This needs to happen!
Signed
He plays exceptionally, but until we see him run the gauntlet of blindfold challenges we won't know if he's truly up to snuff.
i think thats a bit metoo
@@daveh4925 Whoosh!
YES. Idea! Blind fold, modeler pedals, which is which
Yep, see if he completes the canned Surstromming Holiday dinner...Pete, you have your mission :) Welcome aboard John!
@@thetardis5763 That's just mean.
Congrats, Captain, on bringing in another voice for a different perspective.
Frankly, I’m 52 and pretty active in performing. I use digital when it makes sense and analog when it makes sense. I’ve never understood people getting emotionally constipated over it. Would you use a hammer when a screwdriver is needed? Probably not.
The best video you could do to put this whole thing to bed would be to shoot out the digital recreation of an effect vs. the analog, ie the Helix Tubescreamer vs. an actual TS9 or whatever. Captain dials in an analog tone, and then give Pete and John 10 minutes and see who can get it closest using the digital thing. Blindfold Captain as the judge.
Tons of respect for Lee acknowledging his limitations - that's hard! Very excited to see a fresh viewpoint. John mentioned modelers through FRFRs - that's exactly the sort of thing I want to see done at Andertons TV standards.
Awesome! So happy to see this, John’s a phenomenal player!
Well, it's about time the digital side of things was represented and John is its perfect ambassador. Way to go, Andertons!
I really like his approach of having some more "traditionally grounded" presets for gigs, while still having some more experimental sounds available (as a bass player that often hauls an upright, an electric and a synth to gigs, consolidation is KEY).
I think the addition of John will be a nice way to round things out - Lee & Pete come from a tube/valve amp and more-analog effects background but are open to digital effects/amps (not preferred), and John comes from a digital effects/amps background but is open to tube/valve amps and analog effects (not preferred).
For the Bass videos, it might be great to get John in with Nate & Lee, and program out some digital things for bass (have Nate & Lee share some of the sounds they're looking for, John programs it, and then "Back In The Room!"). Cheers!
I'd really love seeing John learn how to tailor presets to bass, and seeing Nate and Lee learn how digital stuff can be programmed, I really hope this gets going, it'd be sick.
👋 Hi John!
Hello my guys
Been following John’s music for a while now, nice to see him sharing his talent and tone. Welcome!
A clever person knows what they know, a wise person knows what they do not know. The Captain has shown how wise he is!
Are you saying he don’t know nothing ?
@@pablo9364 no as that is a double negative! 😂
@@antonyedwardson9900 No, as that is a double negative!
Yeah well... We've been telling them so for... hm... almost 5 years now?! It's about time! ;)
This is a great addition! Kudos to you, Captain, for bringing John on. As a digital guy myself, I look forward to seeing what John brings to Andertons TV in the future!
Welcome John! I'd be interested to see digital gear shoot-outs for audio interfaces and FRFR cabinets.
This has put a smile on my face for the entire 20 minutes!
Great sounds! Great fun!
Love it!
That’s really cool The Captain decided to bring in someone fresh like John, he’s a talented young man, and agreed it certainly gives an insight into digital gear, which is something I’m not very familiar with, congrats John
Yes John! Phenomenal guitar player! Look forward to seeing you on the channel!
I think one of my favourite things about digital kit is the cost effectiveness combined with flexibility. I'd love to see you taking John's live preset and recreate it with valve amps and pedals and see where you go. Perhaps a "cheap" version with Tone City pedals, a more boutique one, then on the digital side maybe like the Line 6 Pod Go and the Quad cortex. How much are your relative options?
I appreciate you probably don't want this to turn in to Digital vs Analogue too often, but I feel like all these shootouts you've done in the past is attempting to recreate the Les Paul + Marshall with maybe a bit of reverb, but that's not really what the digital stuff is trying to do, so it'd be cool to try and get valve stuff on digital's terms.
Great video! Great to see someone that has grown up with digital gear. I’ve grown up with valve amps, so love that sound and always will, but really enjoyed seeing and hearing what the new generation of guitar players is using. It’d be great to see how John builds up patches from scratch and what music some of the less-traditional sounds go well with. It’s going to be interesting to see just how good software-driven guitar sounds can get!
Suggestion: pick an analog sound/song, then walk through the thinking/analyzing process of building the sound with signal flow and setting up the stomps.
Then share it in the Neural cloud with the Anderton’s tag. Then do A/B jams swapping between the analog/digital boards with different guitars with John, Pete, and Lee.
Use the set up for guitar reviews for a while before building a new one. We’ll want a camera view to watch the digital building process.
We’re interested in learning the thinking process to craft signal flows for iconic sounds.
Been a fan of John's for a little over a year, incredible player and an even better song writer. Can't wait for what he has in store for the future.
"Designated young person" - I love it
I've been intrigued by the world of digital tone for a while so I'm looking forward to learning more!
Idea for video content - I'd love to see something about putting together patches and creating sounds. That sort of straight out of the box, how to get started experience.
And for a Sound Like challenge - put John and his Neural DSP up against Matt and Rabea with their usual pick of the Andertons showroom and see who sounds best
@@amethysttalon3507 This is a very interesting idea i think. A breaking the bank sounds like with a comparison to what the Neural can do.
Cheers John, welcome! Have FUN! Great job with this, Cap.
Awesome! I'm an old version of John who's always loved the digital side. It's great to see someone else with the same background. Have fun John 🤘
Seems like a cool dude, looking forward to more videos with him! Also, refreshing to admit that you needed someone who really gets this kind of gear.
Nice to hear a young perspective. I am old school, guitar into an amp with minimal effects. But, times are changing and I love to learn/hear new things.
I believe that young people are the future…teach them well and let them rock away. I look forward to more videos. Cheers!
Welcome John! Look forward to your content. My old man was a professional guitarist in the 60s/70s. Every time something new and digital came out he was on it like a car bonnet, because he was born of an era when technology was limited, when technology was improving, and he always had his eye on the latest thing. When I started playing (around about when you were born lol) I was spoilt for choice and loved the classic sounds, so moved to valve, etc. If the old man was alive today he'd be watching your videos about digital strides, and I'd be watching Cap, and Danish Pete with our classic sounds. Funny how it works.
Great Addition to your Prestenter Team. Really looking forward to the next Videos
John is the man! So happy to see him on this channel. What a ledge! Great choice Andertons! Looking forward to seeing more from him. What a player man 👊🏻
I appreciate this move. Look forward to seeing videos that show off more digital gear from someone who uses it.
I appreciate having somebody who grew up digitally on the show, a different perspective will be very useful , especially if not limited to digital gear (comfort zone) but also involved into traditional stuff testing and demonstration
Great addition to the team 🎉
I think it would be really cool if you made a video where John makes a few presets on the QC from scratch. Perhaps with Lee, Pete and/or Rabea just to see their different perspectives and ideas. No specific goal in mind, but just a video of making, perhaps 3, 4 or 5 presets.
Even better do an A / B with a standard set up. Also go into detail on the IR's that he's using.,
That intro was awesome, finally someone who doesn't only play blues :D
Sweet idea, welcome aboard John 🤘
Respect for the headband /converse combo- baller move!
great to see a diiferent perspective and vision on how to create new and exciting tones for guitar
You all are so good at making the new guy feel welcome!
Amazing player! Been a while since I've been blown away.
You should do a video where you swap rigs.
Or where you see who can closest to some classic guitar tones using digital and analogue effects.
Love those new Chapman more traditional t style guitars! Well done Rob. And I know it was hard work and taking your customers thoughts and feelings into account heavily.
It's very nice, however at nearly *
£900 I'd be walking past it to buy an American tele, yes the specs are nice but the made in Indonesia tag is a real downside
@Mark Seymour just looked it up, the cheaper ones are Indonesian but the pros are made in Korea.
Great choice..and a good move getting someone in for this.im sure he'll be a great addition...🎸💥🔥
I really enjoyed that video. I've still got my Digitech GNX4 that I bought from Andertons back in the day, and still haven't got to grips with it. I hope that John will be able to teach us how to use this expensive and complicated kit. I love the sounds he demonstrated.
Well done, and thank you!
Super move to help us older people guitarists get to hear the potential of digital gear :)
Welcome John! I'm extremely old and know nothing about the digital experience. Videos that focus on the very rudimentary basics would be very helpful! Thanks !
Good suggestion!
Well deserved! Already a Sub of John and a big fan of his style
Great stuff! Welcome to the team!
I'm a 52 year old fuddy duddy. John is a fantastic player and I'm happy you guys got a digital expert.
This is a great idea and long overdue. I’m older than you Lee and I’ve embraced the digital world. Haven’t touched an amp since I got the Quad Cortex. Big welcome to John and really looking forward to more videos from the two of you together.
That was some awesome playing, great vid!
Love everything about this. Brilliant playing, cool tones, great rapport with the Capt and John comes across well. Although I'd love to see him play a Lester through a JCM800. I'd also love to see him with Mick and Dan...
Welcome John! This is exciting!
58 and digital for a decade. Glad to see you guys catching up ;-)
Great right hand work and tasty playing! Can’t wait to hear more!
You should make a video with him playing through digital and valve amps and have him try to pick out the sound he prefers and reveal if it was digital or valve.
What a great addition El Capitano! It is very wise to be that foward thinking, cheers!
About time. Well done Lee on listening on this one.
Good thing you have a new guy onboard! 💪
Good stuff. I am someone who loves valve amps, but I think this is a good idea and I am personally always interested to hear new sounds and new ideas. Enjoyed the synthy tones, and John seems like a nice chap and an accomplished player. Look forward to the vids.
Holy moly- just checked his channel out- that’s some great music - love it!
Yes John🤘🏼 Be interesting to emulate old school 70’s metal and rock through the new tech
I'm an old school bluesy stomp box kinda guy but I gotta tell ya John is a GREAT addition.
This is a brilliant perspective on where guitar playing and equipment is going. Digital is here to stay. More please!
John is an extraordinary player. A generation older than lee, I nonetheless made a transition from tubes to digital some time back and have been a helix user since nearly day 1. I love the creativity it affords and that young musicians can wield it so expertly. I hope to see him regularly on your channel. Getting him to demonstrate his tone creation process would be a great opportunity to play to his talents. He’s charming and knowledgeable and I can’t wait to learn a ton from him.
Good to see ! He’s a great player !
Nice! Wow, that Chapman is gorgeous 😍
Like watching Lee enjoy watching others play! This is easily my favorite channel for gear for years and I'm in Canada for crying out loud!
Looking forward to his videos. Seems like a great add to the team.
Great playing there John. Awesome tone.
I’m 51 years-old, and a valve amp fan, but I also love bands such as Chon and Polyphia, and I also use a Fractal FM3 a lot. I look forward to seeing John’s videos. He seems like a great addition to the Andertons team.
Thats why this is the best “music for musicians” channel in youtube. Congrats !!
Welcome to the fold "Digital John" . I think it's a great idea to bring in a fresh perspective on the newer format of digital gear . Personally I'm with Pete & Lee and only use tube amps and cabs, but open to learn new things. I just recently went to a stereo rig after buying one of the TC "G" systems when Anderton's had their big blowout sale and it's awesome ! Who knows what I will be using next year ?
Great addition to the team!
New take on things always welcome. Good luck John.😎
Sounds good Captain ...welcome john ,so that's digital pedals, an amps in a box ,an digital amps...👍👌🤘
I have followed John for a few years now and think he is one of the best guitarists and song writers I have heard in a long time. Would definitely recommend anyone watching this to check out his channel! It's so great to see him getting well deserved recognition on here. Comes across such a down to earth and humble guy. Phenomenal playing as always! Cannot wait to see more!!
Awesome! As a previous naysayer of digital and recently (
Nice addition! Great player
Has an incredibly unique style. Good pickup, lads.
I have no experience with digital floorboards, but would like to know more about them, nice to see a new face, its like a bit of a fresh wind blowing through good old Andertons, so welcome John.
Welcome to the show john 🤘🤘
So good to hear the jam portion with an alternate tuning.
Great to see a change up in presentation. I also have to be in the Johns “Dad” camp. To digital sounding for me but great for home and ease of use..👍🇦🇺
Long overdue but such a welcome breath of fresh air! I don't begrudge Cap/Pete/and Co for "not getting it" because they all know tone well enough to spot good and bad, I think it's just super great to have someone that already knows the product beyond "scrolling through presets" because we all know how presets sound stock.
Welcome John! Killer fun tones here, looking forward to more!
Good to see you’re bringing someone young in with modern technology the more audience you can reach the better for your business which in a roundabout way is better for all of us
Would love to see a video showing how you can make the cortex work in live setting with daw synchronization and the possibility that this opens :)
Glad to have you on the channel John ! This is great for the digital aficionados / producers that love to work one creating new sounds On our DAWs. Thank you captain ! Great initiative
That intro was beautiful! I want more
I’m really excited about this, and interested to see how John goes about designing content for digital devices tsp the multifx units. More please!
Welcome to the channel, John! I’d love to see someone show what the new Headrush MX5 is capable of. Captain and Pete did their reaction (and that stupid noisegate on the input made it sound mediocre) but they didn’t really get into what it’s capable of.
congratulations john
sounded great, that set up way beyond anything i understand but this is what is on it's way. needs someone to explain all of this , great. good luck all.
Good on you for realizing that there was a market for the younger players who aren’t all that enamored with 100 year old tube technology. In all seriousness, decisions like this is what makes Andertons channels so great. You’re open to trying new things and understanding your audience. Thanks for the content.
the fact yall even made a video for this guy, kudos to Andertons. most companies would just brush him along. but good to see some new blood
Lee is on fire finding new artist for us to enjoy. Dave, now John. Awesome. Got you SUB'ed up John.
Hey John! Impressive! Nice to meet you!
May I say that John is a phenomenal player. And that Chapman T style is killer!
You have got a good guy in. Good luck to John.
love the idea to bring a new perspective
Great addition to the team!
It'd be great to see a used vs new video. Set a budget, then spend that on a new and used pedal and see which is better bang for your buck.
Loved from the first notes. Makes sense Lee has to gradually begin stepping back if he’s ever gonna get to retire :) Look forward to it, thank you Captain and WELCOME John.
What a horrible thing to say! He’s not THAT old lol
