I can only speak for myself, but it was an honor and privilege to be a teenager during the 1970s. This music expresses why I fell this way.
This is one of my all time favorite songs. Love Ron Moss on bass. He also played Ridge on The Bold and the Beautiful for years. Mom watched and I crushed on him.😂
Yes ma'am what she said! The two back up singers are gorgeous. 🤤
Just a-GREAT-feel good, soothing song to relax after a-LONG-hard day at work.
We skated to this back in the day!!!
One of the greatest songs EVER made. Almost 50 years later and it is still FIRE!!!
AGREED.And this LIVE performance is-AWESOME-and the guiter riffs are-FIRE.
We had the BEST music Period.
They're a 2 hit wonder. The other hit was "This time I'm in it for love...."
I feel like this song has been used in a lot of movies and commercials. It's such a classic that people have heard the chorus and might not know where from. This is a get a couple beers in you and croon it at the top of your lungs with your buddies with no shame song.
When these guys first hit with this song I was convinced they were going to be huge for decades. They had the looks and the sound. The music industry is a tough beast though.
That drop IS legendary 🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
The man in red is Ron Moss. He became very popular while acting on a Soap Opera, after his music career.
This came out in 1977..I was 5 years old but grew up skating and this would be played alot
I was 9 lol
I was 28 😂
I was 5 too and skated to it! Good times! 😂❤
I was also 5
My daughter was your age at that time and loved skating 🎉
I was today years old (on my actual birthday) when I learned Ridge (Ron Moss) from the Bold and the Beautiful was in Player! 😮😮😮😮 ❤❤❤
holy shnikeys! Can't believe you've never reacted to this one.
Props for your verbiage! Also from Texas.
I love Tommy boy too!
Holy "shnikeys"... ima have to start using that, brotha!
this song was in the 1st transformers movie
Really??
It has been in TV commercials over the up years, I suspect other movies, too.
Don't know you. Never been here before, but 70s Soft Rock is so chill it never gets old.
This song was used pretty memorably in a Swiffer commercial. It's also shown up in movies and tv.
Yes, old, but that was such a great era for music. Yep, it was used in a Coke (or some soda) commercial, and a Pampers commercial. Great song and reaction, as always! Thx for this!
That's when music was music
True!!
You will hear this on older "swiffer sweeper" commercials
Yesssss!!!!
This is one of my favorites ❤😊 Some trivia - thr guy in the orange jumpsuit played Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful ❤😊
I must've been in junior high when this came out. It was a big dance hit at my 8th grade dance, lol. Great song.
One of the best songs ever! Came out when I was 13 and I had a major crush on Ron Moss (bassist).
……just another typical 70’s “Banger” ❤️❤️❤️
I love this song so much! I was 22 when this came out. I loved it then and still love it now. Love your reaction! ♥
Forgot about this song. 🎵 love it 😊. Thanks for the review!
Player was started in 1977 by Peter Beckett and JC. JC Crowley went to do country music and battled throat cancer. John Friesen owned a video company. Ronn became Ridge Forrester on a Soap Opera for years. Peter the guitarist was in Little River Band for 9 years.
Great song! Player was a two hit wonder. This was by far their biggest hit. I was a high school junior when it came out in late 1977. It was number one for 3 weeks in January, 1978, and was the number 7 song for the whole year of 1978. Their other hit was This Time I'm In It For Love, which topped off at number 10.
I'm just blown how these guys are 40 and our music was the best growing up. I was younger then you but all the music was great 2hits are better then none
❤ Imo, one of the best sing-a-long songs EVER!
Red shirt guy played Ridge Forrester in the Bold and the Beautiful.
Omg, me too, this old when i found out Ross Moss was an actor on Bold and the Beautiful.
One of the best songs of the seventies. My first highschool year. Brings back so many memories. Still got the vinyl album. Please also react to This time I'm in it for love
Couples skate!🛼
If you like player, you will love Ambrosia and Firefall.
I wish more people would react to Firefall... especially the song "Strange Way".
Agree 💯
Also Poco!
🤔
@@RaynorBearstrange way is a good one
🎶Listen baby🎶
Bass player in the red shirt played Ridge Forrester on a soap opera after he left the band.
C’mon AB, these are THEM!!
This has been sampled from for tv, movies, and commercials since 1980 . . . Literally in everything, and deservedly so.
The 70's were great. As a young adult I truly liked to go dancing on the weekends. Thanks for appreciating our older music. However, I have been into listening and singing all genres since the 60's. Lets not also music and artists after the 70's. Great channel. 🎤🎶🎧🫶👏🎼
Taking me back ... sounds that you you back tonsoecific pkaces and times ... 💞
I love to see younger people enjoy these older songs. You have to do "How Much I Feel" by Ambrosia. They are similar to Player.
Suggestions for full skits on The Carol Burnett Show: The full skit of The Elephant Story (not the short form) and a skit of Robin Williams at a funeral with Carol Burnett as the widow (Actually two skits, Robin does one then has Carol do it again immediately afterward as he wildly improvises. Both skits are funny).
Does anyone else remember when this was in a Chips Ahoy commercial for the longest time? Such a great song and it gets used for so many things because it's so catchy.
I think the hook was used in a TV commercial for something. 🤔
Love it when you get really excited about a group. Player had a unique blend of voices.and fantastic instumentals. Love this song.
Great reaction!! I don't think this song will EVER go out of style!!♥️ It's a great one!👍
Such a classic and it never goes out of style! It’s fire every time! Great reaction!
Absolutely love your reactions to these orange juice songs ❤
*GREAT song from this era with the same vibe and wven more insane vocals: Gino Vannelli "IJust Wanna Stop."*
They had this hit and one other..shocking because they were great.
I really love this song! More memories!!❤❤
Thanks AB!!❤❤
Just worked a crazy day. This just made my night. Thx for cheering me up before bed.
Hey it's a joy to see your reaction to this song, very encouraging and enjoyable! You have a great sense of humor too! 😅
It was a commercial! Made in the late 1970’s. Still one of my favorite songs!!! Love your reaction!!!
This is one of those songs that holds a very special place in my heart and personal history. ((sigh))
This came out in the fall of 1977...still sounds good like it did then!!😊
Hey AB it was in the first transformer movie and has been used in few comercials. I thought you had already reacted to this song.
Best music came out of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s!
If you notice the guy in red played the character "Ridge" in the TV series "The Bold & The Beautiful"
Love love love your reaction! ❤
This songs been played as background music in various movies 👍🏼
Dude. I don't know how to say this, but your assessment of the guitar phrasing is both so "great instrumentalist" AND "great hiphop MC" phrasing. The pause and the "wha wha wha?" is perfect. ("somebody else did this" Yeah, it's a fn Swifter commercial. I hate that.)
One of my All time favorites
No autocorrect no computer assistance just raw pure talent.. back when people could actually play their instruments and sing.. makes today's music sound like kindergarten kids singing alphabet songs..
AGREED and well said.
ABtheKreator, I love it when you get into a song 🎵
Homer Simpson lost Maggie once and "Baby Come Back" was playing on the lost baby hotline...
Omg...this brings back sooooo many good memories😊
Yacht rock? I would have it on rotation every few hours, if I owned a yacht.
Oh yeah! This the shit. ❤
Brings me right back to my horribly misspent youth!
Friday and Saturday night at the roller skating rink
My generation.loved it.....
There was about 16 covers of this song.
I WAS EIGHTEEN AND THAT MAN BROKE MY HEART... OH YES THIS WAS HIS SONG . YOU SEEE I DON'T WANT TO SHARE.... YOU SEE MUSIC CAN HELP THE SOUL..💔⚘️⚘️⚘️💙
I love this song. Takes me back to my early days.
You would have see it in the Transformers movie. Bumblebee played it as she walked away... LOL
TY for this. Brings back lots of memories that I won't share lol...I don't recall any other hits from them but hey, I could be wrong...wouldn't be the first time lol.
Woohoo taking me back to my teens😂😂😂
Killer song and performance. Loved your reaction.
I think this was a one hit wonder. Not sure why this band didn’t have many other hits with the song this good
I love, love, love your reactions! ❤
This song is truly magical!!!
That's about as perfect a song as you can have.
This is the only song I’ve ever heard of theirs. It was BIG!!!
I LOVE your reactions! I haven't heard from you before. What a song.......
One of my all time favs.
The Bass line in this song is totally underrated.
So good and this is the only song I know by them.
I had this record on 45 wish l could have paused and rewound it too. Love this song.
AB I love to watch you dance in your chair !!
John the Revelator ft. James Brown | Blues Brothers 2000 | Comedy Bites Vintage

❤ this song. Still a favorite of mine
This was in the 1st Transformers Movie:)
So good! Have you done Little River Band?
Uhhhhh - players are smooth by definition 🤣
This came out not long before I turned 16. Good memories..and bad that year. It did help cheer me up after Elvis' death that same year.
This is s fire song !!!! Everyone that I have seen react to this has totally lost it- ♥
Great reaction as always AB! ❤
Love the reaction 😀
