- This is part two of my build-up of the Monogram kit offered in 1992 to coincide with the launch of seaQuest DSV on NBC. In this offering, we complete the build and add additional detailing and weathering to the completed model. #seaquestydsv

The love you have for this hobby just radiates through the screen! It's an absolute joy to watch what your channel has become 🥰
Thank you Brett! I appreciate your support.
That's outstanding!!! Loved all the stories!! Absolutely loved the show, in my top 10!!!
You really made the most of this kit: great mods and diorama and a trip down memory lane for you. Enjoyed hearing your tales from your that time.
Phil I love this model. It was a great tv series, one of my favourites. I have the boxset. One for your collection to be proud of for sure.
Congrats, Phil. Nice work!
Kit Kraft was wonderful... They had a little of everything there... Lots of great scratch building supplies. The completed diorama turned out great... I may have to add this kit to my list...
A fine conclusion with an interesting story about Robert Ballard. I like the use of the stripped decals that were slightly different in color from the yellow you used because, in reality, big stickers are generally what you see on heavy equipment. One thing I might have done was to put a wash or two on the rock cargo. Great work!
Really Nice Job Phil. Lighting and diorama are spot on... Hi from Australia...
Hi Mark! Thank you! Hello back!
Great build Phil
The build and diorama turned out great Phil.
A very successful build-- the aquarium rocks add a lot of action and drama to the scene without even trying. I'll repeat myself-- this brave new world of LEDs is mind-boggling to this impoverished fool who still has a blue LED that cost $5 and looks bad.
Your stories are terrific-- who else is talking about Seaquest? And who else with your level of authority. Who can blame the good Dr. for looking askance at a pile of telephone messages... But it all worked out.
Hi Phil, love your Stories, love SeaQuest and love all your Builds, thanks for it 🙂 Viele Grüße aus Nürnberg Deutschland
Vielen Dank und herzlichen Glückwunsch!
Glad you were able to score something for that mesh section.
I'm lucky in that our makerspace has an old 40W CO2 laser, so I can often just cut stuff from thin plexiglass or wood veneer, but in situations like this there's just no substitute.
The ribbon worked out really well
Well Phil you've gone and done it again a superb build and a top finish the rocks do look good in the back, the only thing i am not sure about is the vivid green on the base rocks but it does look good. Have fun at wonderfest with Lou, Keith and Wayne, hope you make a video love the Kraken tee shirt I w3ant one
Great job Phil I built the Stinger and put it on a base with real quartzite rock also cut out from the box the logo of Seaquest to add at the front I like what you did with the truck bed I didn't like the clear parts either Have Fun Go Build Something 😊😊😊😊😊
Phil what can I say but Dam fine work, and as for seaQuest in my mind one of the best TV shows, just a shame it hasn't been rebooted with todays Tec.
Awesome !!!!!
i love the "hands" of mossy rock. but it really needs to be in a block of resin. :D
Thanks…now that nervous twitch is back!
Nice little kit, Phil. Needs a driver though! Or maybe it’s remote controlled, haha!
I would love it if you maneuvered your overhead camera several inches forward, tilting the frame downward to keep the same view.
It would keep your hair from blocking the shot so often, I think… 🙂👍
I really enjoyed Seaquest DSV, especially the first season with Roy Scheider. I am curious as to what your ideas were if you had secured the rights to VTTBOTS. Would you have drastically altered the look of the classic series design of the Seaview?
Always fun to think about it.
Did you do anything with the production of E.T because that was amlin production
I did not. I was there from 90’ - 96’ ET was in the early 80’s.
It's because people use amazon that those small shops go out of business.... If more of you online model makers supported those shops more they will still be there
There is definite truth to that. I am a huge supporter of buying and sourcing locally. I discuss the importance of using local stores a lot. Small businesses can no longer compete just like your local movie theater can’t. It’s even more concerning to think what damage will erode with AI.
