The method you used regedit worked for me. Even though it is written explorer.exe I just removed everything and hit save and again I wrote explorer. exe then restart the pc. It helped me. So my laptop when first powered on will show up on the monitor and will show a black screen with a curser, but when I try to restart it to fix it a second time it won’t recognize the hdmi and won’t connect, my screen is also broken if that may have anything to do with it, but if you have any possible solutions I’d be super grateful, Acer aspire 3 if you needed the type of laptop.
Faced the issue after windows update. Restarting the graphics driver using the shortcut mentioned in the video helped. It took around 30seconds to a minute to display the windows UI. Got the video recommended exactly when I needed it.

If the computer only boots to a black screen with a cursor, how is anyone supposed to run the Registry Editor on that instance of Windows without first solving the problem of it booting to a black screen with just a cursor? The user hasn't even logged into Windows yet.

Okay so I promised my dad that I wouldn’t break his computer and then this happened, I have been here for an hour trying every VIDEO! And this one Did me Justice! I legit was starting to lose hope because the stupid key combinations weren’t working but then when I tried the restart (which was so freaking simple, windows Alt delete and press restart on the power button bottom right) it finally worked! I was seeing some text on the top right corner like: “personalized settings Microsoft, chrome” It happened after I updated my computer (my dads) so maybe something went wrong there?
