- Now this is a BIG stationwagon with great visibility! You can imagine it accommodating almost anything with the back seat folded. Nice looking, too!

Hey, Dee! From back when station wagons were king! Thanks! :) Jack
One of my FAVORITE Cars the ‘59 Pontiacs!
Hey, Gene! Me too! It mirrored the modernistic nature of the architecture of the time too! Thanks! :) Jack
Unique by today’s standards for sure! The size, design and color prompt a double take. Really looks solid and that’s so remarkable and desirable! Thanks Jack - nice video.
Hey, Ray! Not a car for an inconspicuous getaway! :D I'm sure lots of people just stop and take a good look at this car! These station wagons were often used hard, and given so little attention....this one appears to have escaped that fate! Thanks! :) Jack
The wrap around windshield is nice, especially for making turns!
Hey, guys! Everyone had to have a curved, wraparound windshield to be current! As you say, you sure had great vision particularly useful in turns. One problem is that the windshield wipers had a limited coverage of the area. Thanks! :) Jack
“Only car with Wide Track Wheels”
America’s Number 1 Road Car
So true...and Pontiac really used "Wide Track" to its advantage, and it fit so well its performance image! www.reddit.com/r/vintageads/comments/tgdvxy/1963_pontiac_wide_track_advertisement/ Thanks! :) Jack
It's sure been a long time since i've seen one of these. Beautiful car.
That's the advantage of going to Daytona....you have a pretty good chance of seeing a car you haven't seen in decades! Really cool! Thanks! :) Jack
Hey Jack. Beautiful car. 1959 has always been my favourite year for Pontiac. I've seen 2 door Pontiacs, but never a 4 door or a wagon. Although I'd do without the wheels, I'd prefer original stock wheels, or at least nicer mag wheels, overall, the car itself is very nice! 🙂
Hey, Jason! It's really rare to see a '59 Pontiac in station wagon form! I agree about the wheels. It can brag about wide track, and that was a bonus in handling! Thanks! :) Jack
@@coolrides I believe it. I find the 1959 Pontiac way more attractive than the 1960 model, even though for the most part they share the same body. I'm sure you've seen one of each at one time or another. 🙂
Hey, Jason! I agree....I like the divided grille of the '59 better than the '60 version. That divided grille was such a symbol of Pontiac over the years. Thanks! :) Jack
cool❤❤
Hey, Michael! It really is cool, and the station wagon version is so rare today. Thanks! :) Jack
Jack, the only thing bigger than the '59 land yachts are today's "full-size" pick-ups. Hard to fathom...
About the same gas mileage too...also hard to fathom.
Hey, Audie! I checked how it compared to a 2024 GMC Denali! The Catalina station wagon is longer (214 vs 210 inches) but the track is slightly narrower 64 vs 68 inches. It's a monster, for sure! Try and find a garage that will hold it! Thanks! :) Jack
Scarce wagon.
Hey, Ted! It sure is scarce! Impala wagons of this year are much more common. Thanks! :) Jack
I like it but as we all know the wheels would have to go.
I would like to own it, but due to financial restraints, it's not in the picture 🙂🙃
Hey, Gary! The wheels really do nothing for the car, for sure. I think financial constraints are epidemic these days! Everything is inflated except salaries and the contents of the packages in the food store! Thanks! :) Jack
@coolrides Jack, you are 100 percent correct. 👍
Hey, Gary! Amen!
