That incredible styling is impossibly gorgeous! Absolutely beyond belief! The big American cars of the late '50s to late '60s were the envy of the world, in fact the envy of our entire galaxy!
Well said. Impossibly beautiful.
Still.
Is it any wonder that this car (medium priced) outsold the Plymouth (a low priced car) to take the #3 spot of BEST selling car in 1959! Pontiac really hit it "out of the park" with this one!!!
@@TheOzthewiz more steel in that car than Argentina 🤭🥳
looks as if it could cross the galaxy ! but it was parked outside someone's house
simply stunning! America at her finest!
It is very fitting that it's being driven amongst all those mid-century modern homes in Palm Springs. Very cool!
Such cool '50's colors! Exceptional car.
Holy moly!!! Blast off in this beautiful Bonneville! Behold the mid-century architectural gems of Palm Springs, the classic backdrop for this baby!
Beyond beautiful!! Super rare color!! Love the Mint Green!!
Happy new year Charles!
What a work of art. Gorgeous!
Amazing survivor, only original once. Happy that it went to someone that will continue to preserve it. First year "Wide Track". Pontiac had beautiful and unique styling after Bunkie Knudsen took over the division in 1956 and was tasked with changing the image of an old mans car, Thanks for sharing.
Trust me, Ryan is the person this car needed to have buy it!!!
Semon "Bunkie" Knudsen had nothing to do with the design of this car. He supervised the 1958 Pontiacs, but not those afterward. Harley Earl was in charge thru 1960, and then Bill Mitchell.
Old school bling will always be king, Charles. They went crazy with all the interior detail.
Ooooooohhhhhhh my god !
I will no more live without this !!
i love how invested ryan is with every car he owns, no detail is too small to remember!
One of the biggest trunks I’ve ever partied in.
The day my dad brought home a brand new 1959 Star Chief 4 door hardtop ("vista roof") was the day I defeated my childhood asthma with a huge shot of adrenaline. Never looked back. The 59-62 Pontiacs were the height of GM styling. Dad later bought me my "college car" - a 1962 Catalina 2 door sedan. Great memories. Love them Pontiacs!
Growing up my father bought a 1959 wagon; not the equal of this car but the most upscale of anything our family had ever had. We thought we were really up town!!!! Not top of the line; But will always remember that car as a high point! Thank You for the memory.
Such a superb survivor...a Automotive GEM! Love the lower Skegs!...I KNOW!
Thanks Charles.... AWESOME....😮😮
Inside and out, a rolling work of art and a survivor to boot.
A glory to behold and celebrate with the finest vintage champagne on this planet in this galaxy and beyond.
Great! My Dad bought a 1959 Bonneville four-door with an overhang on the rear window. These cars were (are) works of art.
Spectacular
I love your enthusiasm for the over the top behemoths.
Thanks for featuring such high quality cars on your channel, Charles. I think this one may be your best yet...nothing beats original, especially when original is this nice! Beautiful!
Wow-just Wow! We Have found the Holy Grail.
That is a incredibly beautiful! Such a great story!!!
Amazing!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What an unbelievably original, and breathtakingly beautiful example! One of my bucket list cars! WOW!
I would proudly own AND drive this Car over ANY Car built today!💕
Why don’t you? Average new car is $40k. Can get any classic car for that. Two even.
I had an uncle that had bonnevilles and catalinas. I totally remember being in the back seat as we drove around feeling like royalty. Everyone would point and look. That car was huge….What a great car and what great memories. Thanks Charles for highlighting this. 😊
Even the background is gorgeous. Perfect presentation of this beauty.
So mesmerizing 😮
Such a Beauty 💕all he needs now, is the Vista, the convertible 😳maybe the Safari too 😬
What a magnificent opportunity it was for Charles. I remember the 1959 autos as reflecting the finest U.S. auto manufacturers had to offer.
Nobody does a car justice like Charles Phoenix!!!!!
Perfect setting for that car too, MCM Palm Springs!
Stunning !! Absolutely stunning !!!
HOW DID I MISS THIS UPLOAD… Charles darling, you are looking as radiant as always behind the wheel of that’s MAGNIFICENT MOTORCAR….. Sending you all my love from England
Incredible survivor 😈😎👍
Love the color and those fins!!❤❤❤
My dream homes, my dream cars!
What a life my friend!
Cheers!
I've always loved this car
Optimistic is the word for this and many other cars of the era. They reflected the belief that the future was unlimited. You can't not feel happy seeing these cars. The neighborhood selected for this video is perfect.
What a galorious way to re appear, Charles.
Truly magnificent car, for the time or any time.
Just a "one of a kind' classic car! I was never a fan of green but the shading on this green car looks gorgeous!
Spectacular styling and details.
beautiful
Pontiac Bonneville 1959. It is a beautiful and an amazing car!
Thank you for the video!
Beautiful!
The US really did have the best design cars ever we salute you 🇬🇧
Charles, you're the best 😍
That is a real dream car. Everything about this car is beyond fabulous. The '59 Bonneville hardtop was finest looking car of the day and it's power train matched it. The 389 and Hydamatic transmission gave this big car big performance. Pontiac super deluxe styling and supreme interiors were just wonderful. What a find. I love this car.
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!
What a neighborhood!
Time travel is indeed real there!
🤠👍
The whole video is pleasing to the eye. Well done. Ever so sharp.
Wow this brings back memories! Our family car in the 60's was a '59 Pontiac Bonnevile in the same shade of green! Wow it makes me think of those great vacation trips we took in that car! Thank you for sharing this. What a great car!
My dad had one similar...color was different...they were as was Oldsmobile in those days very stylish. Thanks for bringing back those memories...
Without a doubt one of the most beautiful cars Charles Phoenix has profiled on his website. The color is absolutely gorgeous!
This is the most beautiful Pontiac I have ever seen! Pontiac has a special place in my heart.
I owned a 62 Bonneville Safari wagon used in 1970. What a car! It was $5000 new. Had every option available at the time. Speed control, 4 speed automatic, power everything. 303 hp 389. Wagons were the best for hauling my guitar, amps, mics doing gigs back then.
Our drummer hade a gorgeous black and white 61 Chevy Nomad 348 tri power wagon to carry his drum set. He converted the automatic to a 4 speed transmission. Our other guitarist/keyboard player had a 62 409 Impala.
We played together since jr high 1966-72. Never crossed paths again but often wondered about the cars the had. I sold the wagon in 72 for $20 Transmission went out again stuck in 2nd gear and no reverse, timing chain wore out and then
the engine froze. Miss that car😢.
It would be worth up to $40,000 or more for one fully restored.
"Bonneville" in your favorite lesbian aunt's handwriting in gold. Priceless, Charles. All those years she worked for GM, and you are the first to recognize her cursive script talent. 😊
BEST EPISODE EVER!!!!!!!!!! Charles, you are so poetic in your descriptions. Loved every minute!!!!
He is actually "marvey-doo!"!
Charles has absolutely knocked it out of the park with this 1959 Pontiac Bonniville. I like it better than the 1959 Chevrolet Impala. We will never
see anything likes manufactured again. This car is truly a National Treasure. The color scheme is out of this world and beyond. Spell binding....🔘.
What a beautiful piece of art. Spectacular!
That's a real beauty. I love the full size cars from every GM make in 1959. They are all amazing in one way or another. If it were possible I would own one of each.
We had a black '59 Bonneville convertible in '63-'64! White top, black & white interior, same silvery threads in the carpet and seats😊 I was heartbroken when my dad sold it, but the '63 Olds 98 Sport Coupe he traded it for went a long way towards healing the hurties! Thanks, I love the videos 😊
This '59 PONTIAC is above and beyond GORGEOUS! Thank you for uploading this video!!!!!!
A Cosmic Wonder of the absolute highest order!! 💫✨🤩
I’m a member of the Silver State Pontiac Club and I posted your fantastic video on our group website. Thank you Charles for the tour of this amazing car!
59 was a good year for Pontiac and GM in general.
What a Masterpiece
I have seen 59 Pontiacs before. I don't think they were Bonneville, but I know they didn't look like this. Truly stunning! Inside and out it is really amazing. What a find.
World class for sure!
Charles I must say you do have exquisite taste in automobiles!
Man, you are living the life, good sir! SO cool.
Unbelievably gorgeous! It looks like it should be flying through the air. 1959 America, the envy of the world.
Low & Wide, A Sugar Sweet Ride!!
well that was incredible. What a rocket ship. The detailing...Pontiac was at the top of the game...going all-in to leave their old frumpy image behind forever. 389 and Wide Track...probably as good a performing car as you could get back in '59. Lol...the 'candy bars'...I always called them cheese graters.
Oh that’s epic, imagine picking that up new from the dealer
Pontiacs were always willing to go outside the box with their designs! Their dashboards were works of art. I have a 1964 and 1965 Bonneville convertibles and they are such a pleasure to drive. For such big cars they are very quick.
I remember when the '59 models were first released in the papers and magazines. They were stunning. The Pontiac line was a cut above all the others. Plus, there was Pontiac's performance. Genius styling.
Probley the nicest car you have ever posted. This is more valuable than any hemi Cuda . You cannot restore a car like this at any price. Parts don't exist. Right on to the owner for having this and sharing with you, we all know!
59s had ashtrays everywhere. The whole family could smoke!
Vintage sexy atomic! Bonneville beauty! ❤
That really sums it up in few words! &
👽Out of this World!👽
Fabulous
Such a Gorgeous Looking Car
I know the '59 Caddy has the most famous fins but I feel the Pontiac had the best fins.
she's a beauty. thanks for the vid.
And one more gorgeous Americana! The 59 Olds 98 was very similar, what deliciously mad cars!
Hi Charles, Hi Ryan, Roy Hunt our 50s Rockin DJ, still has his White 59 Bonneville Coupe here in UK, in spotless condition. Just iconic, with the best dash that comes close to the Chrysler Astrodome dashes of the late 50s. Thanks Charles....... I Know..... from Matt England UK
Charles, you're the best! This car is awesome....where do I even begin to describe such magnificence?
Fabulous‼️
never seen one,, amazing..... and i love your comments sooooo much, lol, xo
Of COURSE, it HAD to be Palm Springs, sitting right there on top of the San Andreas fault! Your description of the car had me howling! LOL! Very very funny! Subscribed!
Awesome car .cruises through Grove street😊
YES! High Five Chuck! You remembered to pop open The Hood so that we could see the engine compartment. Thanks Chuck! I don't care what anyone else say's about you, you're alright in my book. :)
Chuck?
His name is Charles.
Does anybody call him Chuck?
Never heard that before.
Maybe Chucky Cheese , since he's such a Ham!
@@chrispompano If you have ever been to one of Charles's live retro slide shows (and I have been to MANY of them), you will know that he is a ham. But in the BEST sort of way!!!
Love you, Charles!
@@nancyhanson3472 May be we need to start referring to him as "Sir Charles of the retro-Cars"!😊
@@chrispompano 😆🤣😂
What a MAGNIFICENT car from a time when we had artists/designers with style... Nowadays computers and bean counters rule resulting we get cheaply made nondescript vehicles that we can't tell one from to another at a slight distance...
Tru Dat!
And if you haven't noticed, since they all look the same, manufacturer's are making their emblems larger and larger so you're sure to know who makes it.
Seriously....I do appreciate your kind allowance of the owner to tell the car's history...
Thank you, Charles!!
This might be the most "mid Century" styling of any car. Not the most audacious, not the biggest fins, but the most complete and attractive.
My father bought one new the year I was born. I remember the car, but not much else. My dad said the 389 engine would fly! It was a cool car.
Long time no hear for one of these joyrides Charles, that and those backup lights look like a preschool child's artisic rendition of a cat's head!
Thanks Charles! 🤪👍
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Amazing how they managed to manufacture/produce these cars whitout computer aided design.
