I wonder how the kid looks today. There are just 5-6 years to go! Imagine they will make a new commercial than, with the same actor. The would be sooo awesome!
Looking back at this film, I personally believe that no car will ever best the forever ongoing beauty and precision a Porsche 911 brings to the table. My dad owned one (997 Carrera 4 in speed yellow), I also pursue the dream to one day own the same car in the 992 form or if I really made it, a GT3RS would be lovely.
Literally happened to me multiple times over the years as a kid and a teen. Brumos Porsche was and is still the most accommodating car dealer I’ve ever dealt with. I remember walking in and seeing a GT3 for the first time and the salesman letting me sit in it. And I remember the same thing happening as a teenager and saying to him “you don’t have to do this, I can’t afford it now.” And he said back “it’s ok, we all love these cars, and one day you’ll be able to.” - A 911 Owner for Life
Yeah, that is cool. For them it is not anything that damages the car, and some teenagers will be able to buy them later, so I would say that is just good selling. They will remember the time they first sat in one. I hope to own 911 some day, I probably could finance one even now but that would be a financial suicide at the moment :) cheers for your car mate!
Hey man. Same here. Spent hours in the Brumos dealer on Atlantic when I was a kid. So cool to see the Brumos name here. Especially after leaving jacksonville. They were always such nice people. Hope you have a great weekend!

By the time this add came out i was already a Porsche owner. I have to say not all dealers are as nice as that today, which is misguided. As a kid i dreamed of owning a Porsche. I relate to that kid so much. Used to do that when I was younger. There was a Porsche dealership 3 minutes walking away from my house growing up. The salesman was awesome and always showed me the cars every time I went. He even took me for rides in some of them. When I was 21, I got my first Porsche and immediately made my way to the showroom to show it to him. I was told he got transferred and was sad about it. My work made me move to another city and I went to the dealership to service the car. Lo and behold. My man was a salesman now at that dealership and he immediately recognized me. He was so happy to see my car and reminisced the times I used to come. It was honestly one of the most wholesome memories I’ve had in my life
This advertisement is no joke ! At a Porsche dealer in the Netherlands who held an open day , I spoke several retired owners of 911s who told me they realized a boyhood dream , often more than 30 years on . They started bussineses or became dentist or docter or lawyer . When I spoke these people about their 911s , they had a childlike glow in their eyes as if they were that boy again ! Few cars can do that ........
I didn’t wait till I was 32 to get mine. Neighbor had a new at the time 1968 gold Targa. Fell in love with the engine sound right away. I waited 6 years when I turned 18 to march myself into a Porsche dealership. Still remember that moment sitting in the car after giving me the keys to my brand new car like it was yesterday.

I wish every salesman at the main car dealerships would be like this... most of them would just laugh at you because they think you can't afford it.. probably true for some people but no reason to laugh at you.
Not in my case. I walked to Porsche, they never expected me to afford it since I am not exactly 40 nor a doctor. The sales onky wanted to talk cars with me for the sake of passion and every visit he would take time to chat 30 mins with me on random Porsche topics. I liked him so much, I got rid of a previously already ordered Benz, and purchased a brand new GTS off the lot
I work in a jewelry store because I love watches and even if I can tell someone's not gonna buy (though you can never judge) I have no problem talking watches with them for a good length of time. Being more than just a sales person goes a long way.
When I was in 7th class my neighbor took me to a local Porsche dealer (in Germany). Since I grew up in a rather poor family I was afraid because I felt out of place. The guy at the dealership showed me around, explained all the models they have and gave me a brief history lesson of Porsche and the 911. In the end I got a small history book about the 911. One of the best days in my life as a kid. Now I am working a good job and will be able to afford a nice piece of engineering.
Porsche figured out very early on that when you are buying a sports car, you are really buying the way it makes your feel. If every aspect of owning the car doesn't feel special, you are not going to be happy with spending $100,000 on it. This advert demonstrates this, and that kid will remember his first experience of a Porsche dealership - the bar has been set very high. I hope dealers today can make Porsche owners feel that they are special and valued.
@@tlangdon12 I went to the nearest Porsche Center last winter. I've dreamed about owning one since seeing this ad for the first time. As a broke student I felt a little out of place but the salesman was super welcome and helpful. He answered all my questions and let me sit in as many cars as I wanted. I felt like being treated like a real customer even when I showed up in a 20 year old beat up Fiesta. They make you actually want to buy their products unlike many other car salesmen. I'm definitely buying one when I finish my engineering studies.
Unfuckingbelievable!!! Shit, it had happened to me exactly like in this commercial! Incredible!!! I was 6 when my father bought this video cassette with a German bad movie called "Bestellt - geklaut - geliefert". Back then who used to give a fuck about the bad acting or the poor director's skills? Surely not me for I was only 6, it was 1980 and all that mattered was that the movie was filled to the roof with Porsches... I kept dreaming at owning one for 29 long years and my love for Porsche constantly kept growing and growing until it had reached suffocating levels. I used to draw its silhouette in the air using my index finger and each time my conclusion was that definitely it's a fucking perfect design... At least twice a year I would go to Porsche dealership and sit in one of their cars (like a weird demented person) for minutes dreaming at the special day I would buy one and when that day came I will never forget for it was perfect. Guys over there didn't even bother to ask me anymore if they can help. I've bought my 993 in Germany (paid for it almost as much as for a new one - it is a 911/993 and the connoisseurs surely know what I'm talking about) near the French border and I drove my baby all the way back home. I had it only for my self for 2000km and it was my one and greatest affair ever. An orgasmic journey on autobahn!; me, my 993, one shadow... Just perfect!
***** I was born in a country where a Porsche was this mythical Unicorn. Later, when I grew up and had my own small business renting one was simply impossible. With my finances I couldn't be trusted. I didn't have enough dough on my plastic for them to be comfortable with me renting their cars so all I had to do was to squeeze my buttocks, dream the dream and walk the walk. I had to build my house first, then my first baby came up followed shortly by the second one and...well, you know what's like in the real world. The "it's now or never moment" came when I got really sick and I was rushed to the hospital because of one of my projects and then I've said to myself "What's the point in being alive if you don't actually live", right? So with my wife's blessings (gotta love her for that) I've travelled to Germany, bought my black beauty and drove it back home. I own it for 7 years now and I must say this: everyday I enter my garage and I see "her" silhouette unveiled by the neon lights it is as if I'm holding my baby for the first time. Cheers
It is the same with me and my A6! My granddad always had estate cars so I liked them. But I wanted a BIG ONE and STRONG ONE.... After many years I could buy myself a 2010 A6 Avant with 241BHP three years ago. I came to Germany just as you and bought my baby... In the store they didn't belive a hungarian guy just come and pays a car in cash on a simply tuesday morning.... But I've been waiting to this tuesday morning so much And I've been dreaming way too much about that perfect moment. And finally it happened... When I came out from the dealership I went to Zwickau to the Audi museum and this was one of the best days in my entire life..... Since that I went to see Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse and I tell you if you have a Porsche you MUST to go there... Last summer I got 3 autographs from Walther Röhrl the rally legend in (onto) the car so probably I'll never sale this car in my life! I wish you many many miles in your 993 and safe journey whereever you go!
@Alec Miller not a kid anymore, but still would not spend more than 2% on a car... can rent to enjoy one, other than that don't want the overhead costs insurance/maintenance/liability/"speeding tickets" :D

And I remember the same thing happening as a teenager and saying to him “you don’t have to do this, I can’t afford it now.” And he said back “it’s ok, we all love these cars, and one day you’ll be able to.”
- A 911 Owner for Life
That’s awesome!!!!

I didn’t wait till I was 32 to get mine. Neighbor had a new at the time 1968 gold Targa. Fell in love with the engine sound right away. I wish every salesman at the main car dealerships would be like this... most of them would just laugh at you because they think you can't afford it.. probably true for some people but no reason to laugh at you.
happened to me in BMW then my dad and i walked in the next day and got the new 3 series, funniest thing ever back in 2005.

+GorillaProduction38 why would u not just got it on rent...u could have got that experience early in life and at very less cost
Cheers
+GorillaProduction38 You're story; That sir, that, is the ultimate Porsche feeling!
