I remember an article written by Mr. Venturino a loooong time ago addressing how to get Single Action Armies hit to the point of aim. Mr. Venturino’s best ever article in my opinion, had nothing to do with firearms. This outstanding article involved his visit to Iwo Jima! Thank you for interviewing Mr. Venturino. The M1911A1 was the gun I "cut my teeth" on. It was the first pistol I ever shot when in boot camp (granted it was converted to .22LR). Later, I would qualify on the M1911A1 and carry one while standing quarterdeck watch on the ship. It began my love and appreciation of the 1911, and I have had many pass through my gun safe and hang from my hip over the years.
And I know this will be heresy, but my favorite caliber 1911 is not the 45 Auto. It's a toss up between 10mm and 38 Super.
Little fact: Browning original designed what would become the 1911 for the 38 Auto cartridge. But the US Army calvary demanded a 45 caliber bullet, so JMB redesigned the pistol to accommodate a new cartridge to meet the request: 45 Auto.

I love the 1911 I will always love those guns, I actually just added another to the collection not that long ago. Hopefully I can do a video on it in the near future! They are great guns.
I hear you there my two favorites are 10mm and .45 ACP and I would say in that order as well. I am a huge fan of the 10mm Auto!
That is quite interesting and I actually did not know that thank you for sharing that very interesting tidbit of information! --Jeremiah

I own all 3 1911's from the Full size Government, Commander and Officers Model. I've carried one in a holster for almost 30 years, never once felt out gunned or under gunned. I wanted one ever since my childhood growing up watching " Starsky and Hutch, Magnum P.I. and Crime Story."

@@HandloaderTV Awesome I can't wait to see it. There is an annual cast bullet match in November at my gun club. We are allowed to enter up to 3 guns. I was planning on entering using my 1903A4, my M1 Carbine, and 1861 Springfield.
The goal for my " Collection " was initial going to be one pistol and one rifle used in every major war the United States fought in. I haven't found a musket from the Revolutionary War that I can afford " wife's budget ". For some reason " wink wink " WWII & early Vietnam became of great importance. This caused the M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, and a M1A to find themselves as new additions. Of course several 1911's to make up for the lack of a Revolutionary War musket. Oh well " the sacrifices " we make 😁 to keep the wife happy. Just kidding about the wife, happily she is not only an avid shooter, but my best friend, and partner.
