My first exposure to Blue Beetle was Young Justice and I LOVED his portrayal there. I loved the dynamic between Jaime and the Scarab. When Linkara posted his MASSIVE retrospective about ALL THREE Beetles, I fell in love with the character even more.
Yoo same too like season 2 whole invasion storyline was pretty good and really put alot of emphasis on the reach and the blue beetle/the scarab as a whole also black beetle was an absolute menace on that show

As many I first learned about Blue Beetle from Batman: Brave and the bold then saw him in S2 of Young justice. He was my go to playable character in Injustice 2 I’ve always enjoyed his appearance and his personality in comics and on-screen.
Who besides me first got introduced to Blue Beetle in Batman the Brave & The Bold?

**YOUNG JUSTICE SEASON 2 BLUE BEETLE DEFIINITELY FLESHED OUT THE CHARACTER for me. Wish he and Static (virgil Hawkins) would get more screentime as the series went on. And I wanna see him partnering up with static and forming a great brotherly bond. I mean both are part of the teen titans ofcourse....soooo WHY NOT!**
This is the shining example of the fact that, when you put conjecture aside, changing a single or multiple characteristics and removing legacy characters doesn't ruin anything as long as there's a purpose and good writer behind it.

A lot of people compare Jamie to Spider-Man,but I don't see it. If he's like Peter then it's only in how he zigs in every way Peter zags. Jamie trusts his identity to a lot of people,he works to plan for the future,and approaches things with a bit more of a clear head,unless something hits him personally,then he's on a rampage,although that's the case with any superhero. Jamie is more similar to someone like max steel.
It's also sad that Ted Kord doesn't get enough respect
The main comparison is because they are teenage superhero who were are overall normal teens who one day get superpowers as they try to deal with highschool while managing superhero stuff. Yes they ARE alot of things that are different between the two when you get into specifics and details but they are some things people can spot similar aspects between them. Even the way how they have a mentor/student dynamic are similars like MCU Ironman is to Spider-man and Batman is to Blue Beetle like in Brave and in the Bold and Justice League Action.
I always felt that static was the dc version of spiderman. Sense he shares a lot of similarities to the webslinger.

Justice League vs Teen Titans was my first intro to Blue Beetle. Beating and humbling Damien makes him a great hero in my book.

One point about Dan Garrett, the first Blue Beetle. First published by Fox Comics in1940, he was that publisher's attempt to create a Superman like franchise, putting at the same time a comic book series, a newspaper strip, and a radio show.

If max steel is that one kids show with the armor and robot partner then yes it is similar. I only ever saw my relatives watch it but I'd say they are very similar. When I saw what max steel could do I instantly thought of blue beetle

Fun fact, Guy Gardner’s Warrior powers were transferred to the Reyes character to make Blue Beetle. That’s why Guy’s natural powers don’t exist in the current continuity.

@@nikitasnomikos3930 I’m 59 year old ex comic book collector. About thirty years ago guy had his own title called warrior. This story happen when guy lost his yellow power ring.
@@nikitasnomikos3930 Back in the '90s Guy lost his ring, then got and lost a different ring, then found out he had alien DNA and gained the power to turn his body into any sort of weapon. This stayed the status quo for a surprising number of years, until it wasn't anymore. I doubt it's been mentioned since.
I had no idea blue beetle was so OP!!! He battled the Brotherhood of mutants!! Did he win?
Yes, he won. Jaime's scarab, Kaji-Da is the most powerful weapon (scarab) of The Reach Empire which by the way is also magical (from Earth by powerful wizards in ancient Egypt). In Batman the brave and the bold a normal scarab warrior was shown taking care of several green lanterns at the same time and won.
What makes them so dangerous is that they become one with the host. Blue beetle (Kaji-Da) defeated Doctor Fate (Nabu) and crushed his helmet with one hand in the Rebirth comics. He defeated Starro who had five yellow lantern rings. He defeated Omac prime who had the powers of most of the Justice league members, for example Wonder woman and Captain Atom. He took down both Superman and Batman at the same time when he was infected by the Batman who laughs.
The infection just made Jaime evil but it didn't increase his power level. Josh trujillo from DC, the current writer of Blue beetle confirmed that Kaji-Da is the most powerful artifact/weapon in the whole DC universe.

Good run down but I wish you covered the other Blue Beetles. I think you missed out on a moment. I like Reyes but I grew up Ted Kord Blue Beetle in the 90s. Still remember him getting destroyed by Doomsday. I want to know about them all.

My favorite theater snacks are popcorn with a side of nachos cheese mixed with buttering flavor with the cheesy. Sahale Snacks are a hidden gem of chips best secondary snacks during the second act of the movie in theaters. Then washing down with either sprites-hi c flavor or Coca Cola Co. - Blueberry slurpee.
My favorite snacks I like to eat at the theater are m&ms. And like others, my first exposure to Blue beetle was in batman the brave and the bold. He was a pretty cool character but very underrated. I'm glad this character is getting some spotlight.

He's wayyy more powerful than that. He can create anything and do anything. It's wayyy better than a lantern ring. Also compared to a lantern ring his buildings or creations stay permanently if he wants, without needing concentration or will power to maintain. You just need your imagination. He has adaptative strength. Basically he can adapt to any opponent thanks to the scarab sight, that analyse your molecular structure, genetic history, energy etc and adapt to it.
I thought cars were the dominant species on the earth. And can't wait for this movie. Again getting some pretty big Guyver vibes from this movie.

Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle is definitely giving me Guyver vibes here. His scarab also reminds me of Kamen Rider Kabuto (since that character also uses an insect-themed transformation device).
