- Upon searching I can never find many videos on the Acadia for what I'm looking for. I decided to do this video on removing the factory radio and installing an aftermarket touch screen cd/dvd player w/bluetooth.
Crutchfield offers all the necessary adapters to utilize the factory controls and for a measly 25 bucks you can have it all pre-wired for a straight up plug & play. That's my plan anyways...
Let me know what you do. I have a 2012.
@@Paradise4Nerds i did my 2012, but for some reason my speakers cut in and out. volume didnt change much
@@push2199did you get your radio to function properly and what did you use? I just installed an aftermarket radio in my wife's 2012. I have to combine the red and yellow wires to get the radio to turn on, only the front passenger side shelf worked and I have to shut down the radio manually it will not turn off when I turn off the truck. Thank you
Where Do You Install The Red Ignition Wire???
Did your acadia have the factory back up camera in the rear view mirror
nice vid man.. just gave me an excellent starting point for my install
Thanks man. I can rarely find videos for this vehicle
What's the part called that you need to connect the factory amp? Is it the same for a 2010 Buick enclave?
Eddie Debardeleben Data Module
Theres different ones you can use. Here is one for your vehicle:

I just came across your video because I just installed and aftermarket radio in my wife's 2012 GMC Acadia. Does it need that interface module because I just installed regular harness but only the right side speaker works and I had to combine the red and yellow wires together to get the radio to turn on, when I turn off the truck radio doesn't turn off I have to shut it down manually
Thanks for recording this! Did you find anything about the steering wheel controls?
No I never did figure it out
You need a different adapter wire for it.
The factory amp wire ?
I was going to do this to my wife's stereo because her backlight went out and I found a double den Kenwood for $25. But after seeing how much that one part is I have to get I'll just try to replace the bulb. I don't see paying $70 for a wiring kit for a car stereo.
You can get a wiring harness for under 20 dollar you don't need to use a interface multi if you just whanet have some music sorry my inglish is nat thet good
what size is the radio screen
How did you get the cover off ?
I did install on my 2012 Acadia. having problem with speakers cutting in and out
Sounds like it could possibly be some wires or something touching
@Carlos Rivera that was for a double din
Any strategy for fitting all the wires back in place? There’s really not much room to work with:/
Honestly no lol. I had to play around with it till i got it situated.
The steering wheel control plug plugs into the box
But I didn't know which wires
Got the link for the pac module?
Same for a 2008 GMC Acadia?
Not sure. Will have to see when the model change is
Does your Acadia have rear entertainment for dvd
If it does that is not the right radio. You have to use a dual zone DVD. It's about $800 from Crutchfield.
How did you get through the firewall bro? Is there a place I can put my wires through?
I had the same problem and had to squeeze the wiring into the glove box area
Doesn't go through the firewall.
@@dwiggins79 Try doing with with all the extras for a rear DVD unit. Very tight fit. You have to really feed your wires carefully, and unbundle them. Make sure nothing is going to pull out of the radio. I had to pull mine back out again for the microphone for the phone.
