I go to 27th st where you'll find Phillips, voted the best cheese steak in Philly for a few years now. hope you enjoyed your time in Philly. my wife and I moved away from there about a year ago and it was nice to see you running up the steps and chillin in S.Philly. much love to you Adam.

The bread at Geno's looked far superior. Neither of them had very much steak on them and I couldn't see any fried onions on them. I have had alot of cheesesteaks and my preference are the ones with the steak very thin cut and chipped/chopped. When the steak is done this way you can load it on the sandwich and still have no problem biting into it. My favorite is from Filetti's in Baltimore. There is so much steak you sometimes have to eat some with a fork before picking up the roll.

This reminds me of the Coney Dog rivalry in downtown Detroit. American Coney vs Lafayette Coney...the businesses are right next door to each other. But a lot of people too say they are just for the tourists. My grandpa favored George's Coney. Like Philly is known for Cheese Steak, we have the Coney....everywhere lol. Anthony Bourdain went to the 93 yr old Dulys Coney & left saying this, "Every time I visit Detroit, somebody asks me if I've had a good Coney yet. Apparently, I never had a great one. I finally got one. I understand now."

I just saw there's a fence around the statue, can you not go up to it at all anymore?

Born and raised in this neck of the woods, and eating at both places I'd say it's a toss up, loved seeing Philadelphia I used to play in that park, enjoy your videos, thanks Adam.

You were at 2nd & south 2 blocks from the best steaks in philly. JIMS Steaks are amongst the best. Genos & Pats are tourists traps. Tony Luke's, John's Roast Pork, DeNicks some other great places.

Oh The Bread!!!! I love Pat’s First, then a Geno’s to Go!!! The Bread there makes every place you go amazing!!!!! Tony Luc’s would be 3rd best place, but you can’t go wrong anywhere in town. CJ thnx MR Woo!

Pats and Genos are just tourist spots, I recommend Steve's on Bustleton in NE Philly. I'm from NE Philly and can definitely say they make amazing cheesesteaks.

If I went up to Philadelphia I would probably buy a sandwich from both shops like you did. Just curious did either place offer any dessert items?

Hi Adam! There are so many other places in Philly where you can get a great cheesesteak. Steve's Prince if Steaks on Roosevelt Blvd. near Woodhaven Rd., Wit or Witout Cheesesteaks on Bustleton and Red Lion, Stoli's Steaks on Bustleton and Byberry, etc. So many!! Man, your video made me want a cheesesteak!! And I like my cheesesteak with White American Cheese, fried onions, oregano, salt, pepper, ketchup, and mayo!! Now that's a cheesesteak!! :)
