The great thing about Trevor Hoffman’s Hells Bells is that they spared no decibel when they played it. You can hear that distinctive bell from miles away.
No the best thing about it was he actually loves Metal… friend of mine sent him a mix tape his first year with the Marlins, packed full of metal to warm up to.. met him on the field one day and told him he was the one who sent it, Trevor thanked him and told him he loved the tape… Love seeing him at the top of this list
Trevor Hoffman's Hells Bells was always fitting for the Padres team. When you think of Padres, you think of the California Missions and when you think of those, you think of church bells. I'm glad you added Eric Gagne on this list. I remember experiencing that at Dodger Stadium several times when I was younger. Can honestly say I have yet to see any player make that kind of entrance at that ballpark
I get hyped by Narco, I got excited for Enter Sandman... But when you hear that first bell of Hell's Bells, especially in Hoffman's days, I would consistently just get *CHILLS*
There will never, EVER be a closer entrance better than Mariano Rivera. Enter Sandman was the perfect song for him since every player in baseball had nightmares about facing him.
There's nothing about Rivera's song that makes it better than other closer in general. The only reason its on the top 10 list is because of Rivera himself who was such a dominating closer. If I had to rank them, I would say Diaz's is the best no doubt. There's something about that natural trumpet playing that rakes in energy and intimidation. It's very cool.
goddamn, as a lifelong red sox fan I remember being terrorized by Enter Sandman as a kid. The few times the sox ever scored on Rivera it felt like a freaking miracle. To a young fan, Rivera was basically a horseman of the apocalypse. Absolute legend.
Love that the “Omar whistle” has become a Baltimore sports staple. Used to seeing it for the Ravens intro but when they did it for Bautista we went nuts!!
These are all great but something about this specific helsley entrance gives me chills. I’d rank it (from clips alone) way higher than 10. Imagine the opposing batters sitting there while they black out the stadium and the crowd goes insane. Absolute chills
Trying to explain just how awesome hearing those bells and watching Hoffy coming in was to someone never does it justice. You just had to be there! I was also at Petco when they honored Trevor for his HoF selection. Stadium went dark, Hells Bells came on, and then just Trevor lit up on the pitchers mound. Will remember that the rest of my life!
@@AstroGGBaseball LOL no I do not. Narco was Sugar's walk up music when he was a hot-throwing rookie in Seattle in 2016 until he was traded in the Mariners' 2018 rebuild. I miss him. Every Ms fan knew about Sugar and Narco before he got famous in New York. But nobody cares about us in the PNW.

I never cease to marvel at the cult of the closer. They pitch one inning, almost never with anyone on base, and make more than the rest of the relief core combined. How about some walk-in music for the guy who comes on with nobody out and the bases loaded in the sixth and puts out the fire? Without him, the closer never gets in the game.
Eric Gagne's Welcome to the Jungle was amazing. Honorable mention to Taylor Rogers whose short-lived time as Padres closer was special --> Fleetwood Mac's The Chain. A ballsy non-metal selection which still featured a menacing beat.

Watching Koji Uehara at Fenway in the 2013 playoffs is one of my all time favorite memories. Whole stadium on their feet going crazy
Fenway park has always seemed like such a cool environment, really want to go there someday

Such a treat of mine to grow up in SD with pads season tix throughout his career. I almost got teary eyed with that!

I like it but it's relatively new and unknown, and hells bells was already used by hoffman so a tad uncreative but still a great entrance
Agree 100%
hells bells is Trevor Hoffman. Not this cardinals guy. It'll always be Hoffman.
This is the theatrics of baseball that makes going to a game worth it.
Yeah, they usually don't show the entrances on TV unless it was a milestone or something

When did he retire?
I got to experience Gagne's entrance twice as a youngster at Dodger Stadium. Crowd was deafening each time!
That in the middle of an 84 straight save streak. Sucks I couldn't find a little better footage.
I saw him in the middle of that streak. I still remember "Bonsoir, Monsieur Gagne," from Vin Scully as he called the game.
