I'm still devastated by Steve Harwell's death. 😭 Smash Mouth was such a HUGE part of my late teen years. RIP Steve! I will never forget you! Your music will always be with me wherever I go.

I will always associate "I'm a Believer" with the Smash Mouth version made for DreamWorks' Shrek. That cover of the Monkees' song is still a jam to this day.
...And it hurts to hear of Steve Harwell's passing from liver failure. He had such an excellent singing voice that will surely be remembered for years to come. 😢😔💔

So many great songs. One of my favorites is also “Padrino,” a joke song about a mobster. I’ve been contemplating a line from that song since Steve’s death, “The underworld is like and undertow; if you don’t respect it, it will surely bring you down when you least expect it. Hey! Respect it from all sides!”
I also really like “Who’s There?” and “Road Man.”

My other favorite song from Smash Mouth from their second album, "Astro Lounge" has to be "Fallen Horses" to where Steve lyrically sang about horses being flown into heaven and wishes he can be with them. Listening to that song to me sort of predicted his death 24 years later...

Your Man is my favorite song of theirs by far, Pleasantly surprised it was included, along with Waste, Come On, Come On, and Keep It Down (As an honorable mention) My other favorites are Fallen Horses (Which really fits with Steve passing), Disenchanted, Force Field, Hold You High, Who's There? and Diggin Your Scene.

Smashmouth gave a free concert in A city near me about a week before he died, and it was not advertised extremely well, so I heard about it after it happened and now I’m REALLY upset I didn’t make it to that one.

People like to associate them with Shrek too much, when the titular song itself “All Star” has existed long before being heard in Shrek, their real song for the movie would be “I’m a Believer (the Monkeys cover)”, and they were quite known for having their songs in a lot of movie soundtracks from the 2000s. Some of these mid-late millennials, and early-mid generation z kids knew these guys pretty damn well. P.s. I can’t believe that the frontman (Steve Harwell) just passed away, a few days ago. Rip big guy, you certainly defined a generation of listeners.
RIP Steve Harwell. These songs, especially All star will go down in history as classics. And Steve will be adored and remembered for generations to come.

All Star is the most recognisable and most favourite song for me as it made the opening of Shrek so iconic. It’s one of these songs that you need to listen to deeply to truly understand the lyrics.
I really like The Fonz. It hits me a bit melancholy and reminds me that everyone has struggles.

Then The Morning Comes is my #1. Used to love listening to it on NOW That's What I Call Music! 4 when I was a little kid.
Their Why Can't We Be Friends? was also in the movie Wild Things.
