I think even in the beginning, when she spoke to the children, the two eldest kind of ignored her, they’ve been through he episodes over and over again and at this point they’re well over it. While the younger children were more accepting because younger children are impressionable and are easily forgiving, so seeing that she was happy in the moment, they were happy.

Heartbreaking story of Michelle Blair & what she did to 2 if her children. Convinced that two of them molested the youngest she murdered them & put them in the freezer. Such a phenomenal film showing the devastation of a single mother living in poverty - and then her mental break & dissociative personality disorder that developed in order to be able to live with what she did. Very powerful, very moving, & heartbreaking to see.
You can NOT develop DID as an adult, it is strictly developed in childhood. This piece is metaphorical and in no way tied to a mental illness. It is about CHILD ABUSE.

"They don't go to school no more." The first time she heard the 'chaos' in the 'other' house (which was actually hers) she looked at her OWN deep freezer. Tell me that wasn't artistic representation of Stoni and Stephen found inside that freezer near the end of this film and that the woman herself wasn't Mitchelle Blaire!!! It hurt to love this short film but I have to give it to yall this was AMAZING.

Basically it’s based off of a true story, Mitchelle Blair, who killed to of her kids because she said that they where raping the youngest boy. She put them in the freezer, bug she keeps going back in fourth in her mind from her fantasy and her reality

The movie is saying that the woman was suffering from mental health problems and the community around them knew it but did nothing about it to help those children

I found myself tearing when I heard the kids in the other apartment screaming. The lead actress made it feel so real I was genuinely horrified and forgot this was just a horror movie. Bravo honestly, phenomenal.

So basically the apt that was trying to feed the children was basically the part of her that wishes she could have been a good mom? Woah, now that I know what the story ended up to be, I see the small details clear. The woman's house was exactly decorated like her "neighbors house." you can see the decorations from both kitchen counters to be the same, as other things as well. I think when she heard through the neighbors wall, she was listening to how bad of a mother she was, but in a different mind set. In the beginning she said the neighbor loved the kids in her own way, and kept defending the mother. Since they are the same people, she was convincing herself that she was a good mom. This film was so so so good, I hope the actress gets more gigs, she was phenomenal!

This really got to me in a deep way because it hits home... The way the black community struggles with and downplays child abuse...hearing the kids scream while being beaten and hearing her yell for them to be left alone gave me like flashbacks bro I was shaking I was about to cry. That was honestly the most horrifying thing I've seen to date because it actually happens...it was like looking into a mirror. And then it just got worse from there when the actual horror element became a part of it bro I could not.

The ending really stands out. All of this is happening currently and we see the eldest and youngest child at the end meaning they're both still alive while she unravels in front of them.

I thought this was brilliant - fantastic performance by the lead actress. The first intimation I had that all was not as it seemed was when the big “Love” decal disappeared from her wall. This only appeared when she was in her “fantasy house”. I wonder how many cases of child cruelty and neglect spring from circumstances like these? - people who want to be good parents, but either don’t know how (because lacking role models from their own childhood) or who are overwhelmed by circumstances and unable to cope? Very good, sensitive film.
I just looked it up, nearly 700,000 children each year. Absolutely heartbreaking.
I thought to myself, as I watched this short horror, saying how could this be a horror short when she is so kind to people. But this was a total twist in what thought! She is a potential upcoming good actress. Great short, but a little confusing.
The acting was FANTASTIC, I would love to see her in other films. It felt so real watching that, it was so creepy. And normally the acting in horror films is not that great, we need more actresses/actors like her.

@Stephanie Holey the best short horror flic, in my own personal opinion, is BEDFELLOWS. It's only 2:30 in length and was excellently put together; I don't think there's any way possible to turn into a 2 hour movie yet if they did, I think it would totally ruin it altogether. Just sayin'. 🇨🇦👊🏻

I never knew about the backstory that influenced this short. It’s just so sad from every angle and you all captured that. I watched the short, looked up what it was based on, and rewatched. This film is AMAZINGLY well done.
The mom wasn't sad she was evil plain and simple. Idc what disorder she may have had she murdered those kids and was ok with it even calmly saying in court she would do it again and tried to make thenkids look like the villains who deserved to die. . . She deserves to be under the jail

Wow. I was blown away. It was so real. This is what real life is like. Directors and writers hardly ever do a justice in the way of honest representation of making it feel like the character could really be someone you know. This was amazing. I would absolutely watch this as a full length film. Kudos.
Mini theory: this is the mother making her mind live other lives.
When she makes food for herself, her brain while in the let's say 'neighbor side' feels bad for the kids she drops it at the house. But in reality she's giving it to the kids. And when she's doing other task like combing her hair etc. she's actually doing something with the kids, aka combing their hairs. And when she knocks on the wall for the youngest one, that's actually her knocking on the door on how was the food.

The fact that, when showing this to my mama, she said, "Yeah, what's so scary? This is how it is!!" is more horrifying than the film itself. It touches on poverty and being a single parent (ESPECIALLY when there's mental health involved) and all of the struggles that come with that... The subtle touches that hint at the twist towards the end (those little dolls) made me gasp in shock when I noticed them initially. And then the "nooooo no no..."
I thought I notice a couple similarities from the beginning to when she went in the next apartment...like the tree decal behind the deep freezer and the statues on the counter. AMAZING short! I loved it!!!

This gave me chills and a headache. Being able to understand what she was experiencing ... The blend that occurs in the midst of dissociation... that reality is so hard it almost enduces a heart attack. I loved to hate this one.
I feel like this is adapted from a real life story? A mother went to jail for life for killing two of her children and keeping one of them (or both eventually I can't recall) in her deep freezer in her living room for YEARS. She claimed to have killed them because they were allegedly molesting one of the other children. This short gave me total deja vu of that story! Extremely well made. wow.

And her consciousness was divided into two, so that she would not get away from what she had done. Her imagination divided the house into two parts, and the house in the film is shown as her consciousness. In the end, anyway, there were no two doors, the house was one and the entrance was one. That's why he was shown in the film, at the end of the mirrored, unified, the house, and the door. How much do not get away from the committed, the memory will return everything🇷🇺

Ive noticed this trend in horror shorts, where the protagonist turns out to be the villain, or a crazy person. But even though I kind of saw it coming, it still shocked me. XD

This horror is as so breathtaking that at some point, I feel annoyed, anxious, breathless on watching this. Some say is based on a true events. it must have been a terrified situation to all around
Mitchelle Blair is the woman's name from the irl case this is based off of. It's gotta be the most disgusting and disturbing thing I've ever researched along with junko furuta's case. I wouldn't suggest looking into either one of those unless you're looking to lose all faith in humanity.
Lead actress absolutely played a blinder. One of the best shorts. The whole package was flawlessly executed. Even the frozen kids did well,creepy but awesome.

when i thought I had it figured out, the ending through me off....hmmm..only 2 of the 4 kids were in the freezer..were the ones she let live her favorites?...the boy in the freezer took the bag that was meant for the little girl with her thumb in her mouth and then the girl in the freezer wasn't even acknowledged when she walked passed to go in the house..just the boy in gray and the girl with her thumb in her mouth..the mirror meant something too

This was so sad. Terrible thing is kids go through this every single day. And most of the time everyone around them fails them. The freezer part some lady actually did that to her son and daughter. They were about 11 or 12. They were in the freezer for very long time. That B is a evil sick pos.
The school failed.them. the father's of those 2 kids failed them and so did social workers she was reported many times. Not once did they do anything to help. Smfh..

🤔 I might be wrong but I think the house on the left has one of those like “realtor” locks on it. On the handle. It’s even there when she uses that same door to run back inside. Is it implying that “home” (which is actually vacant) is her mental safe place where all the “bad things” are locked out, and only she (the good perception of her) can get in?

ive figured it out. she is skitzophrenic, due to truama of what she did to her kids. everything she sees is flashbacks, she basically made a new life for herself after she killed them to forget what she did since shes in denial. if you pay attention to the house, the other apartment has the exact same russian dolls on the bench, and the family tree on the wall. she wears a wig to make a new life for herself and act like nothing happened. she basically lives her normal life but without her kids. The song she sings to herself goes like, "she loved them kids, i do what i can(inaudable) i do what i can (inaudable). this is her manically singing to herself while still forgetting what she did. you also see dents and broken bits of her house, signs she mightve done something to the kids there as well.
The moment I saw that freezer I knew where this was headed. That whole case still makes me sad to this day.
That plot twist at the end left me flabbergasted.
A conscience awakening script and absorbing acting. I'm not the one who watches children even close to danger. Whoa.

Amazing short film. So heartbreaking.
I like that it importantly reminds us that people with mental health issue's are loving people struggling to keep their head above water.
I thought the "mirror image" of the two flats was an awesome reflection of the extremes between a loving, caring mother & that same mother negatively affected by her mental illness.
I think it's important to note they were a low income family showing the reality that many can't afford treatment & medication. This is a sad but common reality.

It's sad because she told the woman in the beginning the mom loves those kids the best way she can and it was actually coming from her. She probably really did love those kids and lost them to the horrible actions she took from the mental illness she was carrying around without proper help. Poor children. Struggling with mental illness isn't easy at all this movie is scary

This was really good. I had to look at this 3 times before I got it. Before I found out she was the mother of the kids and that she killed them and put them in the freezer. After she killed them she had a psychotic break and developed a new personality in which she lived alone. What thru me off and I’m still have some problems with was the first scene. Where that mother and daughter apart of her delusion or were they real.
Just finish it and u pretty much answer the whole plot on what was going on. The lead actress was amazing!
I'm confused on if she killed all four kids or just 2? Because at da end u see 2 kids in both of her world's...

I'm pretty sure that mother and daughter were part of her delusion. At the end of the film where we see Grace talking to herself, she is saying all the things she said at the beginning when talking to that mother and their daughter. Instead of seeing her doing the daughter's hair in the beginning we see her doing her own hair at the end while repeating the things she said in the beginning. The beginning is what she thought happened, the ending is what actually happened.
I love the small detail of the master lock on the other door showing that no one actually lives there

Oh my. Very trippy...and strange. I want to know what happens next and even what happened to lead up to these very dramatic and traumatic events. ...Good work. Now do a sequel...please!

This is based on a woman named Michelle blair who killed two of her children in Detroit because she believed that they molested her youngest child. She tortured them brutally and hid their bodies in her freezer. No one knew they were dead until years had passed. The case is absolutely horrific and I wouldn't suggest looking into it.

@@raine7814 Lets be glad our lives will never be like that. We can pray for the sad unlucky people who are dealt such grim lives. The best we can do though is to live the good lives we have and be wise that bad stuff truly happens but we cannot let knowing about these bad things throw bad feelings on our good lives. Lets move on. I wish you the best.

I could tell the other apartment wasn’t hers cause there was a realtors lock on that door. This was amazing. The actresses were phenomenal too!!!
The actress playing the mom did an amazing job. I hope she booked more work after this. This was a sad, but very good story. ❤
This was scary but also very heartbreaking, seeing a mother slowly go insane and end up killing her kids out of rage, it has such good plot I love it!

The woman from Detroit. Heartbreaking story. This is film is great . I will say no Film will ever be as terrifying as real life especially not the story of Mitchelle Blair.
I won't rest until this film is seen by as many people as possible
