he forgot to change his audio recording channel from stereo to mono lmfao
@@thesomewhatfantasticmrfox that literally just happened to me
I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY HEADPHONES LOL XD
I can't hear anything at all help ;-;
@@fen5280 i have bad news for u...
YES!! Finally, a proper tutorial on anthros! This is useful! I hope you can make more!!
yes, i have been trying to find a tutorial on how to create a mesh, but this is waayyyy better
Wow, this is truly amazing that you give us your head references for free. You don't know how much that helps a beginner sculptor. Thank you
this was the most informative and useful tutorial so far that I have found and you've answered quite a few questions I've had for months however the things that I tend to get stuck on are the sculpting, retopo, and creating the mouth/eyes. though after watching this I think I have an idea on some changes I can make.
yes i agree
Awesome! So many great tips throughout, thanks for taking the time to explain everything (including the keyboard and mouse shortcuts you use, which are often overlooked in tutorials like these). Can't wait to see what you make next :)
this tutorial is SO helpful and you explain everything so well without missing a detail! stoked for more videos! thank you!
very nice work. Remember ctrl+E is your amazing hotkey friend! It:
Does edge loop bridging,
marking seams,
subdivisions,
and so much more!
Also shift+N is the hotkey to recalc normals quickly. Though if they're not flipping like you want em to, Alt+N will bring up a normals menu that'll let you just flip the normals direction as well.
Just had an aha moment. Have been learning character creation for a while and now i am at the point where i can create my own reference images, but have been avoiding blender for a few months because i was getting discouraged by failing to make a full character. And today after seeing your video, i thought why not just like when you practice drawing, practice parts separately. Takes a lot less time and less parts to fail and get discouraged. So kudos sir!
Honestly I watched some vods from someone called KaideArt's where he does full 12 hour avatar creation speedruns from scratch where he goes over a process vastly different from this, but it's honestly super useful to see multiple ways to do it and see what I personally want to take from it. I really like this direction of detailing mostly since kaide usually just uses a subdivide some other tools that are less sculpting and definitely doesnt go to the extent of dynamic sculpting since programs like this to remesh cost money usually and he likes to show the free way to detail things using art strategies while keeping a low enough poly for vrchat with what's built into blender, but I find it difficult to follow some things to actually make my own look good. Regardless, he has a lot to offer when it comes to neat little tricks and combining that with what I learned here and other places makes the process lead to an outstanding result for me as a beginner. I honestly think I this could really improve with a better Idea of my 2D art skills and just a creative mind in general, its awesome I love blender.
I honestly cannot thank you enough!!! This is information every video I've watched has lacked
nice, the vid is actually is too hard for me. I got o to 7 min, I think I'll use it more now and then since it actually teaches alot of cool and usefull stuff. Ty for the tutorial 😊❤ edit. I'm back on trying to redo it 5 months later, I'll try and see if I can do it fully if I do a lil each day. and ty Keliff Roo, this actualy the best furry/character sculpting head tutorial I find
Of course the most easy to follow, concise & informative tutorial on this process comes from a furry!
IM SO EXITED THANK YOU SO MUCH I'm new to this and really happy to be able to try this. Thanks so much!
same
They look so cool! I love head shapes like that.
Watching moop has taught me ALOT
You really hit the sweet spot between video length and tutorial depth. Everything is explained simply and in a way that new modelers can understand. Very cool.
Quad remesher is like $50 for the non commercial version though. It really is the best auto quad remesher currently out there, but there are some free alternatives, like EasyMeshes, which happens to be one of the only remeshers out there which allows you to manually direct your own edge flow (though the result still isn't generally as good)
Also, at 17:10, some edges were created while retopologising and just left unconnected to other verts. It's a good idea to avoid doing this, and it's not mentioned at all, so maybe add an annotation mentioning not to follow that particular example.
Gotta say, thank you for this vid, I've been lost as hell with a lot of blender tutorials
Thank you very much for this tutorial, I needed a sort of through-line to follow and I think this will do just great !
this video was perfect for getting me into modelling thank you so much dude
That trick on how to build the mouth is such a good method. :)
finally i can make that goofy ahh character in blender thanks
Wow. Looks great dude.
so useful, thank you! was having so much trouble modeling a snout especially haha
had to watch at 0.5 speed cause ur fast and my brain rn while listening is like *wft is happening* (somehow everything became transperent so i had to delete it all)
My left ear really enjoyed this tutorial
same.
@@Wolf_Kann I hear ya loud and clear, in my right one
Now i have to start from scratch! My previous model was made using improper techniques
Great video!
You saved my ass with this, bro.
I'm in the process of following along with this video trying to make my Avian character!
Might repeat the first steps and make my Lizard character first, though.
The beak is giving me troubles since it has a very unique shape to it!
Thank you for the lesson! Do you have a video on how to add a furry face to a facerig?
this is an amazing video, when it finished i looked at your subs and got so confused, i hope you grow fast great vid uwu ❤
Its so awsome does this technique also works for vrchat models
One tip is that you can use Alt+G, Alt+S and Alt+R to reset position, scale and rotation
Idk why but it isn't working on my pc
WE LOVE THIS!!!
Thank goodness I found this, I was making abominations to my wits end!
my left ear loves this video🦊
Left ear: furry 3d modelling tutorial
Right ear: Pepper Coyote (2x speed)
yeah it sounds pretty wierd for who uses headphones ^~^
God damn, it must be nice to have artistic talent.... Awesome stuff btw.
Great video! Would you consider making a video about coloring and other parts as well?
awesome tutorial but my blender looks nothing like yours with the tools etc! would love a video about your setup
This really helped me understand better
I've only started a week ago and I'm already making better quality than years of practice of a professional
(But of course since I'm just starting I do still have troubles and need better tricks to do my work faster LMAO)
Trying to make a dog game
so i downloaded the files for the art that you used in this video but when i open up blender and press shift a, i cant find the files for some reason how to find it?
Heywww, i'm NEW to any kind of 3D stuff
yesterday i tried to create a simple muzzle form, didn't work at all heheh
but ewhmm.. you said in the video that it be okay to use one of your orthographic furry heads right?
well i just letting ya know that i did borrow one, i hope that it works now for me ;3 thnx for the video ^^
Wow. Amazing.
this is great and all but the audio being in the left channel only hurts
holy shit i'm a huge fan of moop's models too! small world with 3d furry modeling lol
woah, amazing thank you!
How do I make it so that only on one side of the head the mussle will go out? For me its happening on both sides
thankyou so much
Great vid. are you planning doing a body tutorial? because i search and search on youtube and i dont get anything good. (sorry for my english)
Eventually yeah! I'm thinking about how to write it atm
Some basic tips:
- Skin modifier is a quick and simple approach: czcams.com/video/W0ySG59xkys/video.html&ab_channel=MasBaco
- Another approach that I like is to build with simple shapes (cylinders and cubes and stuff), combine them with 'Bool Tool Union' (It's an add-on in Blender you can enable) and then sculpt from there
- Moop, the person I mentioned in the video, has started to save VoDs on their twitch channel so that's a great place to watch for tips!
@@keliffroo thanks so much for the tips
you mind doing a red panda / raccon head face thing? i cant draw to save my life. and i cant find a base to use other then my ref sheet witch isnt to scale with the side view
I’m having some trouble at trying to get the shrink wrap to work… 11:29
My thing ends up attaching to the top of the jaw instead, snap to face ends up making it worse. Thank you for the first parts. Everything else worked before this point on!
15:18 "We are going to bully this hole" Excuse me?
tysm 4 helping how to make a furry oc!! finally my other acc can make a 3D meme animation. i often get stuck at the eye-
it actually works
Thanks. Awesome, the only wrong thing is that your microphone is only in the left channel which is kinda hard to listen to stereo headphones for too long.
oops, you're right, I should've tried with headphones before uploading ^^'
The QuadRemesh Add-on throws an error when I try to enable it. The error is "Traceback: Most recent call last". Any ideas what is causing this? This tutorial is wonderful and has helped me a lot with starting my modeling journey
15:45 my doctor when i ask how to get my eyes to feel more natural
The use alpha box isnt there... gah... (found it in a different spot... im still struggling a lot due to how fluffy my reference sheet is for mine...its hard to tell where things are, and the neck wont stop being very square in shape no matter what i do... gah...)
Piolisimo
my left ear loved this vid
No offense, but I would've started the head making by choosing mesh -> round cube, press F9 in Object mode and set radius 1.00; that would have saved a lot of time and trouble IMO...
mirroring is not applying, what i did wrong? How to activate item tab?
Heeeeey
I dont know if any of You will read that
But im struggling with applying modifiers, about 6:10
After applying, mirror modifier wont work,
My version is 2.93.5
And no clue if this is something with my version
If you are on Windows, go to Settings > Ease of Access > Audio and turn on mono audio for this video.
thanks mate
Hello os it possible to only use the front view, bc I don't know how to draw them in the profile one
why is my object de-selected once I go into texture paint??
Can this work on “3D Modeling App” on ios?
my one little question is since you did yours in 2.8 would the same steps and process work for 3.2 and the remesh addon you used would it work for 3.2 as well?
Yeah it all applies the same. FYI 2.8 and 3.3 are practically identical.
How do you make mouth?
i got to about 2:56 and when i input 40, i get what looks like two plates with a huge blank space in the middle/just the very ends of a sphere, has anyone else encountered this? i repeated all the steps but its still not working :(
nevermind, found a fix! The edge loop in the middle of the head needs to be within 0.001 of the x= 0 plane for the clipping to work, which can get messed up when moving the head cube around to match the reference image
Can you do a tutorial on a body
My model won't do anything in sculpt mode after applying the modifiers.
im trying everything but idk how youre using your mouse wheel to select widen the radius? for your screen it shows up as a orange dotted circle around the mouse button but its a scare for me. i dont understand :c
The selection tool? You can press W on your keyboard to switch between sqare select and circle select
@@viscep5393 OH MY GOSH BLESS YOU!!!! this was mind blowing
I really like this, but it'd be helpful if you were to talk a little bit slower. I have to keep pausing and going back a few seconds so that I don't miss things. Otherwise, great tutorial!
this is a good vid, there is one thing off tho, and that's the spoken audio being mono. played on one side
maybe it could been my headphones
@@SqualidsargeStudios nah, it's the video.
Oh hey look an in depth tutorial, he even is using the orthographic references *sees him make a 3d ball and start immediately sculpting* oh- oh no... The topology... This is gonna be a nightmare to actually get where he wants it.
15:45 you might need to play with your eye hole and fiddle a little bit to get it feeling more natural
OwO
i was thinking my studio headphones were defect :(
I can't do alt z
2:11
It wont let me in edit mode :(
15:38 If you want to triangulate instead of creating an n-gon, hit ctrl+F
me watching this video: okay commit quantum mechanics.
is there any tutorial that doesn't involve spending money i dont have
i dunno whats more cursed ?! 1. the topic 2. that he is using a Normalmap shader 3. or the in fact he is Modeling the base with excessive Highpoly retop workflow ???!!!
nice but i dont have numpads
anyone have quad remesh available where i dont have to spend $60 on it :(
Why does your extrude behave differently from mine? Yours almost seems to move like a proportional edit.
Ohhh, I see why. It's because you haven't applied the subdivision yet when you're doing it.
I’ve watched like 4 separate videos and none of my hot keys match what I see in the videos. What’s going on?
ah quad remesh... have to pay.
You lost me at 3:40 i don't know how the hell that thing works
8:19 horn moment
i swear to god i hate furries but this is the only video that shows you how to make a fox head
I just riped the space bar off my keyboard. Oops
why the long face
I'm gonna bully the shit out of so many polygons.
ummmm where are the rest of the eyes?
I'm a child but I'm gonna try this 😂💀😭
