Cathie Wood says Coinbase is 'executing brilliantly'

- Coinbase (COIN) released its fourth quarter report beating expectations with a revenue of $953.8 million. Bitcoin (BTC-USD) regained its $1 trillion market cap on Wednesday for the first time since 2021. With the rise of bitcoin investing with spot bitcoin ETF approval, many on Wall Street are expressing more interest in the digital asset.
Ark Invest CEO and CIO Cathie Wood, a vocal advocate of bitcoin, joins Yahoo Finance to give her insight into the crypto markets, Coinbase's performance, Ark Invest's bitcoin ETF, ARK 21 shares bitcoin (ARKB), and more. Wood adds the trading platform is "executing brilliantly."
On Coinbase, Wood claims that it's the "most compliant exchange out there" from a regulatory perspective. She also notes that it's competition is fading, especially given the collapse of FTX and the issues Binance has been facing.
Wood gives her view on the future of bitcoin: "We do five-year plus forecasts, so we're focused on how institutions and countries and companies might use this new asset class for different reasons. So, we think we have just begun from a price appreciation point of view. This is part of a journey. I do believe the SEC giving the green light has encouraged institutions to think carefully about it and have a point of view, so we're in the learning phase right now, and I think over time that this movement into this new asset class will continue to push up the price."
When it comes to Tesla (), Wood says she would support CEO Elon Musk's bid to incorporate the company in Texas, saying a Delaware judge took "the vote away from us, the shareholder" who voted in for Musk's sizable pay package.

There is always a thing or two to say about all these, it's either one is doing better than the other or it's relatively affecting the whole market. I wish I know more about these crypto and stocks to enable me invest properly.
It is very easy to buy in on trending stocks but the problem is knowing when to sell or hold which is why a coach is important. Investors have just turned back the clock on the FED tightening campaign and cast aside the Fed fears that ruled them for 15 months. First of all, You could lose it all and you could win it all. It goes both ways. Secondly, what works for A may not necessarily work for B and you should not be a bandwagon investor. A good onumber of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge.
It’s unfortunate most people don’t have such information, I don’t really blame people who panic cos lack of information can be a big hurdle. I get your point, in trading we should be adding to our winners and cut our losers early. Unfortateunly, Cathie has regulations and rules she must follow.
Arkk sold 20% of there coin holding imo to purchase more BTC for the ETF. They still hold over 5 million shares of coin, which they said the will be buying back.
Imo coin stock is a better risk for reward then BTC at this moment.

Wood's main ETF ARKK is up 10% over the last 5 years. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 is up 85% and the NASDAQ 100 is up 157%. She's a joke.

Cathie is not entirely honest and a little confused about the meaning of inventor and renaissance. This is a woman who predicted Tesla shares would be around $7000, with $15,000 in sight in 2024. She is not only wrong, but she is so wrong I don't know if there is a word for it. Elon is not an inventor, he is an investor- brings scientists and engineers together, which needed money noot brains, to make useless toys- I don't see how reusable rockets can help humanity and electric vehicles are no better for the environment than Petro-cars, if you disagree, going and do your research and not just take Elon's words as the truth (elon is a businessman, an investor). Elon is certainly not a renaissance man (i wonder if cathie knows the meaning of renaissance). If Cathie has a narrow mind and little knowledge then, Elon may appear to her as a renaissance man.
I think the pinnacle of true invention in the last 10 years belongs to discovery of CRISPR or the artificial pancreas or advancement in key hole surgery. These are worthy of renaissance, meaningful discoveries that truely change lives.
As for elons ~$50 billion pay packet- shareholders did not vote for a $50 billion pay out. The Tesla board, who are close friends with Elon, agreed to what Elon wanted, the board didn't do their due diligence on where Tesla was, where hype from the likes of Cathie would take Tesla in the short term ($7000 ashere price prediction) and what happens when the share price tumbles, etc. The board did not give it rigorous consideration, because they are friends of musk they do drugs with musk.
Do not be surprised if Tesla introduces hybrids and a petro-car......musk is just after the money.
