I'm 56 and I have so many beautiful memories of family reunions and other family celebrations and Frankie Beverly and Maze was in constant rotation. This band and many others is still real music. You can't beat the "feel so good" soul classics. Today's excuse for music can't hold a match, a candle or a blow torch to this real music.

Left a healing mark on my soul and got me to thinking about the inevitable ups and downs in life. Amazingly this song and "Golden Time of Day" get me thru chronic bouts of depression. I've learned to use music as means of therapy. These words reassure me that I'm not alone. Threw this song and others like it, I've discovered the brightest side of the darkest part of me. I put my headphones on, get away from my thoughts and let Frankie console my heart, my mind and most importantly uplift my spirit. Just to take a break from negativity, I sometimes meditate in the melodies. When I open my eyes, everything is alright. Even if that alright only lasts me a little while...

I used to listen to The Quiet Storm to go to sleep as a kid on my tiny RCA tape/cd/radio combo. I developed a huge passion for RnB and the like. I always had this song in my head later in my years and I couldn't ever remember the name of it. Nobody I knew had any idea what I was talking about when I mentioned it. So happy to be here and so happy to hear this again. Beautiful and my God, this song is a celebration.

A song i never get tired of hearing, a song which needs no introduction, the anthemic signature tune of Maze, Frankie Beverly at his best, the tune that whips the audience into a frenzy with the opening bars, that killer intro "live", then the very distinctive voice of Frankie sung in his passionate, spiritual , Soulful tone takes over, feel the magic of one of the worlds best group, " i didn't know y'all can sing too"

"The ones that you care for give you so much pain!" Very sad line. I can relate to this a lot growing up in a controlling family where I felt like I was a constant target catching all the complaints. It was kind of annoying and I rarely felt my thoughts mattered to anyone. It was about what I could do for them. Not how they could assist me. So yeah I had a lot of mental pain growing up. I had fun moments too but the negative verbal interactions were what tended to stick in my head the most so to this day I'm kind of a loner without any friends but it's cool. I write, draw, play video games, and listen to music so I got fun solitary stuff to pass the time.

My husband passed 7 years ago but oh this song. We would be opposite sides of the room and this would come on and our eyes would meet and we knew it was our dance. I played this at his funeral and his wake after. The night ended up with every single person on the dance floor singing this in his memory. I have the title tattooed on me. This will always be his song. He went to many caister weekends. Hank you maze for giving me those memories x
