I feel you I am a generation before you and this stuff was before me as well but makes me feel like what you described. They was tapped in back then. Makes you wonder what we lost along the way.
I'm 56 and I have so many beautiful memories of family reunions and other family celebrations and Frankie Beverly and Maze was in constant rotation. This band and many others is still real music. You can't beat the "feel so good" soul classics. Today's excuse for music can't hold a match, a candle or a blow torch to this real music.
😆😆I just posted about this. I was trying to remember what my Army buddies told me about Maze and I was sure it was family reunions, picnics, BBQ's, potato salad and good ripple maybe? They always had a good nostalgic smile on their face when they talked about Maze.
When I was a kid my dad and I would listen to soul and R&B like this every weekend mornings. Curtis Mayfield, Maze, Isley Brothers, Bill Withers, George Benson, you name it. I miss those days :/

Whoever gave it a thumbs down really needs to actually sit alone and just listen to the message and see what it is that's wrong in their life, cause the melody and the words are to let you know that you can be healed if you just realize that life is a joyous thing and the pain is an integral part of their life and it's there so you can learn how to heal!! It's father's day and it takes me back when things were so layed back people loving each other on the block neighborhood looking out for them and yours respect for one's community love, joy and pain
"The ones that you care for give you so much pain!" Very sad line. I can relate to this a lot growing up in a controlling family where I felt like I was a constant target catching all the complaints. It was kind of annoying and I rarely felt my thoughts mattered to anyone. It was about what I could do for them. Not how they could assist me. So yeah I had a lot of mental pain growing up. I had fun moments too but the negative verbal interactions were what tended to stick in my head the most so to this day I'm kind of a loner without any friends but it's cool. I write, draw, play video games, and listen to music so I got fun solitary stuff to pass the time.
Wow this makes me feel so good. brings back memories of raising my kids. Saturday morning we would be cleaning the house or doing yard work with maze playing. makes feel so proud being a single father. Miss those days.
So sorry you had to spend your younger days like that! Just pray to the almighty everyday music like this is so comforting, my child hood life was snatched from me know the feeling love you
My husband passed 7 years ago but oh this song. We would be opposite sides of the room and this would come on and our eyes would meet and we knew it was our dance. I played this at his funeral and his wake after. The night ended up with every single person on the dance floor singing this in his memory. I have the title tattooed on me. This will always be his song. He went to many caister weekends. Hank you maze for giving me those memories x

It’s okay to listen to soulful music. I thought the same thing. My church had an anniversary picnic and they were playing this type of music. And I was like what and looking at my sister. She was like yeah. It’s okay, as long as it don’t have any cussing in it. Lol
@@dornellak This as our music, is sounder and better than hip-hop music.

This is the kind of music you start and end your day with. I tell my kids all the time ain't nothing like old school music
It's father's day and it takes me back when things were so layed back people loving each other on the block neighborhood looking out for them and yours respect for one's community love, joy and pain
beautiful maze my black brothers from a chicana in california
Miss those days.
i truly understand your words. I was the same. Until I let go of them to be free.
This song helps me block out the negativity of my past and be grateful that "I'M STILL HERE"- MISS CECILY FROM THE COLOR PURPLE😁
So sorry you had to spend your younger days like that! Just pray to the almighty everyday music like this is so comforting, my child hood life was snatched from me know the feeling love you
Sherman Brown may you find peace with yourself, that is all that truly matters!
Old couple dancing got me here
My husband passed 7 years ago but oh this song.
