Hi Josh. Always busy on Stoney Ridge. Nice job on the goat 🐐 Fence. Hi to Mrs Stoney Ridge. Nice teamwork have a great weekend 👍🏻
Thank you Josh and Mrs. Stoney Ridge for going so in depth on how to setup an "E" fence! Y'all Rock!!!
My grandparents were Pennsylvania Dutch and they saved EVERYTHING, no matter how small
Love it when mrs stoney ridge joins ya!!
DITTO!!!! Always look forward to a visit from Mrs SR
One of your best DIY Videos!
Yall are such a good looking couple. Yalls videos are refreshing & very helpful. I hope to one day own enough land to have goats, bale hay, have chickens.
Great to see Mrs. Stoney Ridge out there with you. :) Enjoyed the music and learned a lot. Someday my Fiance and I will have some property and your vlogs will help us get the land to pay us back and pay it forward to our good neighbors with eggs and a honor system fresh vegetable stand. God Bless!
Thanks for showing us your setup. Cant wait to get our goats out on pasture now!
Great product Josh. I am definitely going to look at this fencing once I get my pasture fenced and get goats.
Love the videos! I could listen to your music all day long . Keep them coming!!
Just what I was looking for! (Goats have gotten out for the third time TODAY!)
BTW, in Australia (where I am) or anywhere in the southern hemisphere you want the panel facing NORTH.
Awesome product Josh I hope it works out well for you. You know I use to buy eggs and honey and all sorts of things from Mennonites in Wilkesboro ,N.C. at the flea market. They are good hard working folks that sold a quality product...
You said that about the string, when my Grandpa passed we went into his barn, yes His barn. The first thing I came to was a wooden crate the size of a large refrigerator and it was labeled “String to short to use, NO WIRE”. The strange thing is no one ever was allowed in HIS barn, so why label the crate? The string weighed over a hundred pounds. That wasn’t the only strange and ridiculous contents of the barn, but that would take way more time to list. Good video.
Interesting.. hah that's kinda like me and my shop I won't let anyone go in it either 😂
If you need to make an adjustment to the fence and don't want to walk back to the charger to cut it off, you can temporarily 'short' the fence out. Easy to do, just wee-wee on it.
Richard you go 1st. Let me see how that works
And make sure camera is on cause “stupid should hurt” LOL
I've got one of those fences for chickens I've had for a year and half. Just needed to change out the motherboard 🥴 but I learned something from about the fencing...you're great at explaining a d teaching us about all the stuff we might like to try. Thanks Josh 👍. ❣
Great video! I don’t understand how the is 7 dislikes. I will bite my tongue on my thoughts of those people. Josh, how lucky my were the goats in the pin before moving them to the new paddock? Like to know a time frame to see what we will be up against. Thanks Josh!
The goats look like excited tourists at the opening of a Vegas buffet.
Thanks,it was very informative.
RAIN!?! What is this thing you call Rain!?! Lol! Thank you so much for the instructional Josh and Mrs. Stoney Ridge!
Black shirts in the field is like having a heat lamp strapped to your back............Try 100% nylon white.....It's like wearing A/C.
Grime 5740 - I love it when someone says, "Black is best in heat. It radiates your body heat away more efficiently." That's true, but it absorbs way more heat if you are OUT IN THE SUN! One of those "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" things.
Any type of synthetic material makes me sweat like crazy. Personally I have to wear 100% cotton or wool.
Hey Mrs Stony Ridge it's so Awesome to see you two together
Good looking goats and that field will be perfect for hay soon!!!! Wish we had some of that fence when I farmed lol.
Them goats said, "we r in Heaven now". Lookin GOOD Josh.
Thanks guys....lovely.....you taught me so much.....
Hi.... Thank you 🎥👍👍👍
Love your show!
love the "stupid should hurt shirt".:) Bought one for my sweeties birthday :)
Good video, thanks for the info!
You seem like a great couple, you compliment each other,,, very nice to see God bless you both.
Another great video.
Prompted by this video, I installed a test "pen" using a Daken solar-charged energizer and 50 m (~162 ft) of netting. 24 hours after putting my three boar goats (who are EXTRAORDINARY escape artists), they're still in the pan. Only took one zap, each, for them to learn. Gonna pick up another couple of sections to enarge the pen, or use 'em in a line to partition the (larger) paddock they're in now.
Important: This type of fencing does NOT work well at all when the ground is too dry. We've been in near-drought conditions until a couple weeks ago. After the rain, ground was wet enough that I've got good (6000+ VDC) voltage all around the fence.
Great video & tips! Thanks
She's a keeper Josh!
Great job enjoyed that!!!
OMG! I LOVE HER SHIRT!!
Excellent
Mrs Stoney Ridge is wearing my favorite shirt. I wear mine with pride.
That’s wicked kool
Hey Josh and Mrs. Stoney Ridge.. Great video and it was good to see Mrs. Stoney Ridge again. I have a question Josh, How do you like your car port type building? I'm thinking of getting one for my boat and trailer and have heard mixed opinions on them. Any insights would be most helpful. Have an awesome day Brother, Mrs. Stoney Ridge and Wooooo
Mrs Stoney ridge never talks
the three strings on the post is not just for keeping it rolled up its to tie the posts together when you join two rolls together
Cool out bro and Mrs bro
Happy goats
Gallagher electric fences are super good for cattle if you are interested!
Another great video. How much does it cost? How much is the battery set up? Have you compared to Kencove fence?
I really like the versatility of that netting. Of course I have never used it before but definitely something worth trying out. How is the cost differences on the netting to traditional wire fencing?
It would be interesting to see if the voltage drops as the soil dries out with that short ground gizmo. I've noticed that it also looses some of it's zap when the surface dries I presume due the goats not having a good ground thru their hooves.
When we ran electric fencing for our cattle, we couldn't allow weeds, grass, etc. to touch the wire, instant ground. There were a few brands that still allowed it to "zap" through but, most generally discovered they were being grounded. Is this fencing the same way? Great video. Cheers :)
awesome video.....always something to do on a farm..
hmmm....how do you keep the grass from shorting it out...years ago I remember regularly walking the fence line with a machete to keep the grass down....some had weed burners...but those carried a fire danger too
Nice fencer
I'm not country but really like your country rap.
I have a old trailer I thought of doing the same thing would love to see yours and how you do it from start to finish
Josh,
Love the video. Great job with the fence . How many volts are running through that ?
Thank you 😊
Cool
Ms. Stoney Ridge!
Woooo!
love the preimer products wich my kubota and case dealer sells too woooooo
(please let me know)Do you have a perimeter fence around your property been looking at these although thinking of putting high tensile this video helped me though
Good farmeng
Dang it, for some reason when Mrs Stoney Ridge shows up I miss most of the words.........
Is that a first gen Bronco I see in the shed. Had a 75 when I was a kid. Man I wish I still had it. I would love to see a video on it.
Morning Sir
Woooooo!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
What is the difference between Premier One and a Powerfields Fence that requires a standard electric fence charger. Premier One does not seem to offer an A/C version fence charger, making a set up about $450 . ..versus approx. $250 using Powerfields with a standard A/C charger. I don't need a solar charger.
WooooooooHeeeeeeeeeHeeeeeeeeeeeAleight!!!!!!!!🤗🤗🤗🤗
Great vid Josh. Why do you have the bell on only one goat?
M. Forest Shipps bell scars the coyotes away
Josh, no reason to install the u-shape ground first. You can have it installed already on the unit and then just hold the main unit (NOT solar panel) with two hands on either side, push down and rock side to side slightly and the grounds will go right in....6 of one, 1/2 dozen of another I guess.
Yep...just followed the instructions for the first time like a good boy 😜
LOL - hey I noticed on another vid of yours, actually Keeping it Dutch's vid where you visited him, where you said you were in the USAF and stationed at Hill AFB. I was too and was wondering what years/what unit were you in at Hill?
You got their GOAT feed em already and I like your GOAT T
Ok, what/where is the link where I can get one of those shirts? And do you ship to APO, AE?
Hello do you still recommend this type of fencing
Does it short easily?
Thanks
doesn't short...there's no way for it to short if it's up out of the grass...it does a great job but is not a solution to permanent fencing for any livestock
Why do a couple of the goats have 🔔 on never seen that be for just curious? Thanks in advance
They're going to miss their stump pile.
Do you have a bell on your billy ?
I would like to see the goat mobile build
link to T shirts ..... I watch y'alls video's all the time
So...in the video description of most every video there is a link for ya..here it is: czcams.com/users/redirect?redir_token=Ca78LwbisXTDhje-iRS_zokGJZ98MTU1NTM0ODM0NkAxNTU1MjYxOTQ2&v=Seu0T1X1Lw8&q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.bonfire.com%2Fstore%2Fstoney-ridge-farmer-apparel%2F&event=video_description
We have seen you looking after the 🐐,,,,, but what do you actually do with them? Milk. ,,,,,,,,,food? Great videos for us city slickers.....lol
I'm gonna run that same fence around the chicken tractor.
If your dog marks his yard on the electric fence source I will let you know because he will run till he gets here in N. Texas.
call him wide track
Couldn't you make the goat area square by adding one angle brace wire to a ground stake on each corner, that would keep the fence pretty tight ?
I am Mennonite. We don’t necessarily save it because of the links but we save stuff so we can be resourceful.
I come from a Mennonite family and we are notorious for saving everything and trying to save money.
A great way to live for sure!
Woo
From now on, I'm calling all poop "butt fertilizer".
First
What is the song that starts at 13:46?
It's my song called "Dirt Roads and Cane Poles"
Sounds good! Is the whole song available somewhere? Kind of reminds me of Drivin' n' Cryin -' czcams.com/video/h_3CvrKWQe0/video.html
a circle is stronger than a square!
WE USED TO RAISE GOATS, OUR AREA WAS A LIL MARSH LIKE IN AREAS, WE LOST A LOT OF GOATS WHERE THEY ATE THE GRASS ALL DOWN NOT EVEN AS FAR YOURS, SNAILS LAY THEIR EGGS ON THE LOWER PARTS, THEY HATCHED OUT WE HAD GOAT DIE LEFT AND RIGHT, ONE OF THE ELDER COUSINS CAME DOWN AND WE OPENED ONE UP, FULL OF SNAILS, WORMER DIDNT KILL THEM, GOOD LUCK, YOUR GROUND ISNT LIKE OURS
Where's you cool straw hat?
Does your lovely misses have a voice?
Thanks for the vid. Your wife talks too much tho. :D
You are funny I am a Mennonite
Nice!
"Goat Shack Baby" well the Goat Shack is a little old .................
Things don't stay new very long around livestock brotha
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer i was making reference to a song by the B-52's (Love Shack). lol, thanks for the reply
how tall are you. and your wife. make a album. i will buy it
I just want to say one thing about Mrs. Stoney Ridge. I want to be as absolutely respectful as possible and not hurt anyone's feelings or be disrespectful in anyway. "Sorry I feel like
I have to preference my comment so no left-wing butthurt person can say anything like I am some male chauvinistic Pig". My comment is simply I find your wife is as a very very pretty lady!
Please don't take offense to that comment. Far too many people think that making a comment about how attractive a lady may be...is chauvinistic or racist comment "or whatever the buzz word/s of the week is"...
It really bothers me that a man can't verbally appreciate the beauty of any women without being labeled a pig/jerk/as@/$>/#...or whatever....
Personally the most beautiful woman in the world happens to be my wife...no offense to your wife or any other mens wifes at all...
But when did it become a crime to appreciate the beauty of anyone male or female??
I have never met a women that did not really appreciate a well mannered man said..
Opps sorry for the rant Josh, but I just got my behind chewed because I said that the lady in the picture on another video was very pretty....apparently I am a real arse for thinking a lady happens to be very easy on the eyes....????
Sorry..I did not mean to do a PC rant...I just think you have a very pretty wife and I am tired of getting called names and being labeled just because I appreciate beauty!
Excellent
