Love your vids and are super informative, BUUT! (many laughs) peeing on your grass and eating it may be a little too much info than I needed!! keep it up brother josh !!!! great stuff.
hmmm....it was salty...not sure why...that was a joke Mr. Ken....I sure hope I didn't eat my own pee bahhahbhahha😜
You’re not just a farmer josh. You’re a documentarian, a videographer, a musician, and I’m sure just a nice guy.
Love your videos. Much love from the U.K.
No better life. Heaven on earth. Thank you for this and all your videos. God Bless You.
Thank you for being a farmer and keeping tradition alive and showing everybody how beautiful it is to be a farmer
That is a beautiful sight Josh watching that tractor from overhead and seeing the beauty of the land . God is good isn't he ...
I have baled been baling hay only for the last two years. I have helps others but baling on your own is a very rewarding process, sometime frustrating too. But love that first couple times around the field. Pure joy about it. The smell , the sounds, just fantastic. We bale small squares for horses so there is a little more sweat in the moving the bales. Still love it when it all works out.
Being a farmer is hard work, get up with the sun and put in some long days. All that being said you’re one lucky son of a gun. Good luck Josh in your endeavors, I know you’ll be successful.
Josh you should repaint that 9' haybine and do a restoration video of you repainting it it'll make the haybine metal last longer and look pretty too
Making hay while the sun shines
Love this video it was very relaxing I could almost smell the fresh cut grass
That was a Great Video, and choice in music was spot on. Thank you for sharing part of you life with us.
The mandolin track chosen was top notch sir 👌 Thanks for sharing this all with us.
Thought the same thing. Would love a link to it if they are
Vegas Gurl true. I liked the harmonica track too .
Man Josh. This was a great video. Artistic if you asked me. Your shots were spot on brother. I really enjoyed watching.
I absolutely love your videos you have a beautiful farm if I could I would love to try mowing hay it looks really fun. When I was a kid my aunt and uncle had a small farm and they would let me go out and mow the field I really enjoyed it. Your videos reminds me of my childhood thank you for sharing a part of your life with us I really appreciate it
Awesome super informative video Josh?Today’s society should be watching ur vids and getting more knowledge out of it than videogames. Great music.
Nothing better in this world!
As always a fun video with lots of memories of my younger days.
Thank you so much brother, that was the best explanation of how that machine works.
You have a talent for making things easy to understand. 🚜
That was beautiful 💕 I could almost smell the fresh cuttings. 🚜
Josh, that music is so beautiful, so poignant, touching, in a way.
Thanks...puts a smile on my face too
Hey 9’ is better than 7’. That may have been a blessing in disguise. I always got the rake with no top. It wasn’t always a lot of fun but being out in nature always was.
Like the hay music. Makes me want to go out and cut some hay
Livin the life! Can’t wait to buy a farm someday
Gotta say, you’re very informative teaching is awesome, and so is your music
One of the best videos you've made yet. The drone footage and music chosen were both top notch.
One of your best videos. Love the drone footage and music toward the end. Would love to see more of that type stuff as it is enjoyable to watch and you do a good job putting it together.
Great job with the video very informative and professionally done it's great the " junk " haybine works so well for you.
Thank you for all the great videos
Very peaceful to watch. Probably a lot more peaceful than actually doing it.
Hey brother, I can see the pride in your smile, you've come a long way Josh and your REAL farm is lookin incredible buddy. Btw, your haybine will run FOREVER, hence; the blue oval... lol. 👍👍
STR farmer great vid so informative, love it keep it up and all the best.
Really fantastic information! You really use your property to the fullest. The knowledge you learned to run your farm is humbling. You and your wife are really doing a service with your channel, I feel everyone needs to learn what a farm does and the different degree of farms there are. Wonderfull editing and music and content of your videos, well done! beautiful farm!
I just laughed my butt off when you said the grass was salty!
Yep...that was a surprise for sure! LOL
Great selection of music...Cheers from San Francisco...Keep up the Great Work my Friend.
Great video Josh.
Nice job man... I've enjoyed your video with my cup of coffee

So beautiful. Great footage. Sounds crazy but this evoked emotion out of me. Thought I was going to cry. Maybe the music or the footage or all the above and I’m not a chick. Lol. Excellent job!

Just watched it!!!
The farm looks great! Absolutely beautiful ! Just a little funny fyi, have you heard of (I think it's called) a brain worm, you know that song in your head that plays over and over. Well, my brain is singing " we got goats, we got chickens" , haha love it!
lol I need to get on writting a few more goofy ones
Yay!! Hay!!
Any day mowing is a good day.
Thanku for sharing and teaching. God bless
That’s the BesT way to have your beard! 👊🏻💪🏻💪🏻
good video and a really pretty place too ... no gopro's were harmed in the making of it i hope ? !!!
i remember once before lol , was a good giggle . cheers . Dave
Josh, Very much appreciate the energy you put into your videos. It can't be all that easy to stuff cameras and drones into nearly everything y'all do on the farm! This video (to me) was really one of your better vids. I've plowed and disc'd a few farm fields in my day. Talk about a stress relieving therapy session... "Wooooo"! Great way to decompress!
I haven't read all the comments of late. Did you ever determine what caused your other Haybine to self destruct?
Your inner "content creator" is showing. Knocked it out of the park here buddy. Well done!
Shoot me an email...good to meet ya last night...we will sell the backhoe! Mrs. Stoney Ridge approves! (want's me to sell off some stuff)
Out west we call that a pull behind swather. Haybine is a band name of New Holland.
Josh,
Really like your videos. I have 140 acres here in GA that I manage for wildlife, so your trials and tribulations are met with empathy and laughter. One thing to mention, and I hope it does not sound snarky, or sound like the safety police, but dude, you really should not be hooking your PTO shaft to the tractor while the tractor is running. It may seem harmless because you think "well the PTO is not engaged", but it is SUPER dangerous. Having grown up in farmland and working as a surgical tech in a trauma center to put my way through business school, I saw way too many PTO shaft injuries that made people's body parts look like Stretch Armstrong just got done with a playdate with Godzilla. Just want you to be safe brother.
I think you have a good point there for sure....must be careful...that PTO shaft means business....my wife and I are both RNs...seen some nasty tractor accidents myself...I think you just did it for me...I'll shut down the tractor when hooking up from now on....you are totally right...I just hate starting and stopping a diesel..something in my brain says let it run!
gday from australia, just wanna say your videos are great and love what ya do! i live on a hobby farm that my parents own but would like to have my own in the future cheers!
You make great videos i never imagined i would watch farming videos, thank you
RJ 1999 i disagree it doesnt matter if hes farming 4, 40 or 400 acres he is still farming and showing his progress from the beginning
RJ 1999 not everyone can buy a big piece of property and start the next day with 100 herd of cattle , huge crops and a huge money making machine he started with nothing and hes showing step by step .it takes time to grow into a traditional american average family farm he said hes a nurse but i dont know if he still does that or not.i understand your point, i think most people understand hes showing us from the beginnings of his journey to being a farmer that makes a living by farming.
RJ 1999 ok thats great, did people call you a pretend farmer when you first started?
RJ....I'm guessing you didn't start out making a living on your farm the first year...or event the 5th year...it's ok if you don't believe in what's going on here...a man following his dreams...taking back land and starting a farm...not buying a farm or inheriting a farm.....this is my reality....if ya don't like the channel then why are you here?
Thanks Miss Cindy...there's no use in argueing with folks like this ....I'm sure if we all sat down to a cup of coffee he'd probably have alot to say....I'd encourage Mr. RJ to help out and give us tips and teach us ...that would be nice ...thanks for the support Cindy
Cool that was lucky
To cut hay is the life!
Hi Josh you do what you have to I understand let's get her done
I like the music men woooooo!
You can get a secondary remote in the back fairly cheap and instal it easy especialy were you dont have a cab. Less pannels to take out to mout the control lever. (If you would want to leave the loader on.)
It was tough work but I actually miss haying season
Hey Josh, I see you are getting pretty proffesional with these video shooting & editing skillz.#SALUTE
A lot of electrical issues everywhere have a great weekend I’m back at it! 7am 👊🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Don’t let the drone go through the cutter! It may not fair as well as it did in the manure spreader!
get a bucket of those squeeze foam ones. for ear protection. put three packs in your pocket, just like when you have to use pickup baggies when you walk your dog in the cities. Functional/ practical/ But then you have to buy 3M a company who won't join USA Leger of companies. ho hum...
Fyi. It doesn't adjust the height of the windrow. Its adjusts the width. You want to adjust it down, which will make it wider so the hay will dry better.
One of my favourites (from England!) of your videos. What is the beautiful music?
I missed a few videos a while back. Did I miss something? Haven't seen Mrs stoney Ridge in a while.
CorrosionX ... order some up for your next rusty mess, it'll break down what you didn't think was possible! Don't worry about the price, it leaves PBblaster and liquid wrench, my preference, cowering in the corner. Try your local boat yard.
Hey josh I saw the hay rake in the background and your 240 can operate that with ease our does :)
good video
Imagine what it was like before machines. Might be why they had lots of kids. ;o)
Hey! I just started watching some of your haying vids. Good stuff! I realize you probably haven't had time yet to mess with the broken haybine, but I think it would be cool if you could do a video on what caused it to break the gearbox. Otherwise I will have to just keep wondering... hahaha. Beautiful place you have there congrats!
Nice video, and sometimes is not easy to take away the hoses because of oil pressure still there
nice video, how big is your property? I can't wait to see the series you're going to create when you build the house on your land.
Stoney, please check out bagwell farmers. There bailer is so cool. Maybe it's something you'd like.
And after you make a bale of hay don't forget to check your humidity probe so you don't catch a bales of hay on fire.
Ain't nothing like square bales
I m glad you got your swather fixed the big ole 10 ft one too. I would love to see you plant some Bermuda for a lot more protein content. Fesscue has barely any protein and in some rare cases toxic to horses and Mediterranean-type tall fescue is dangerous to horses, but it is rarely planted in the United States and therefore is not a concern for U.S. horse owners. Bermuda is more like 9 percent protein or better. It retains its protein for most of the winter.
I would love to see you buy some Bermuda seed and sow that everywhere your fields will be worth ten times as much for grazing or selling hay. Or Kentucky blue grass or Alfalfa. It very desirable to feed to horses and cows. My dad when he was alive he and our whole family planted a big field in Bermuda and wow it was a nice hay field.
If you get Bermuda grass started it will take over completely in time and it grows three foot runners a years or summer. Get some that Bermuda it is the greatest grass ever.
You could sow some Bermuda grass in with the Fescue and it will over take the Fescue . At least you keep it from eroding with the Fescue but I would plant some Bermuda in with it and thicken it up and make it into some great hay fields.
Nice hay!! I’d hate to wiggle that big thing around my 2 fields! Does a nice job though!!
WoooooooooooooHeeeeeeeeeeeeHeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!ALrighT!!!!!👊🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Lespedeza is a bush type clover
Tell Mrs Stony Ridge I said hi
Hay
Muito legal! Aqui chamamos de fenação... Feno de capim ou de alfafa são os mais comuns e muito utilizados principalmente na criação de cavalos e gado de leite...
Woooo
Josh,
I seen on your drone footage you have to make a left turn because that hey Bine is on your left side so you can't exactly pick what part of the field you want to cut all the time. Is your tractor full-time four-wheel-drive or do you get the option to put it in four-wheel-drive?
Excellent footage of the Haybine inside of the machine running
General repair
Woooooooooo
Most make the left hand turn simply due to it's "easier" to make, than the sharp right hand turn. Drawback to the left hand turn is, you want to turn in the direction of the PTO (clockwise), reduces the wear against those U-joints.
The tractor should have the option of running 2wd, rather it's a button, switch or lever.
Ham68 thank you for your reply . Josh must be to busy sleeping 😌
