- Here is the NUMBER ONE HACK to prevent your solar energizer battery from losing power caused by a short that honestly Justin Rhodes himself couldn't diagnose when I talked to him almost 2 years ago. I should have done this simple hack back then but didn't realize the many uses of zip ties! Premier 1 electric netting ( Premier 1 Supplies ) is by far the BEST on the market. I will also show you how to fix a frozen power switch on Premier 1 solar powered energizer. How to fix electric netting sags. âIâm feeling a bit wild today, especially after getting shockedâ. đ€Łđ€Ł
Lol! Yes! Caught me off guard for sure! Thanks for watching Gardening In The North! Really appreciate it!
Thank you for keeping it real, brother. đ
"Yes. I shimmy." Priceless. Thank you for this video my good man.
Youâre welcome! Thank ya!
I just installed my fence today. I will definitely be going around and putting zip ties on tomorrow! Thank you so much!
Ah I feel many shocks in my future! We are planning to get pigs in the Spring and will be venturing into the world of fencing. A very informative video, thanks!!
Yes! And the pigs will be perfect behind Premier 1âs poultry netting! We did pigs for 2 years. Never had 1 get out! Even piglets! Happy New Year!
What a good video, thank you. You give all the details without wasting time talking about unrelated stuff.
Thank you so much!!! Appreciate it! Iâm planning on filming more videos. My Canon has been broken for a year now but itâs fixed now.
I went down to the field and checked the bottom of the wire...sure enough it was touching the metal bar. Aaaand now my fence is working again! THANK YOU for your great tip!
Great video and we use the Premier1Electric Fences too and we love them
Yes! Use those zip ties at the entrance to prevent that loop sliding down and touching the metal spikes. It works and saves your battery from long term damage. Thanks for watching Moneypit Homestead! Happy New Year my friends!
Great video sir. Awesome tip about the bottom loop! I'm brand new to electric netting so this was a wealth of information!
Thank you so much!!! Iâm glad this video helped you! If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Have a great week!
Good info! I just ordered the 164â 48â.
Another great video with a nugget of knowledge to help cut down on the time searching for issues. Thanks for sharing this with everyone.
Your welcome Joe D! I even took one for the team and got shocked, lol! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and if I donât hear from you have a Happy New Year! If you wish you can send me a friend request on Facebook, Scott Burton. My profile picture is the same profile picture you see here. Thanks buddy!
I think you missed a few other new videos? Look in the Timshel Wildland Series playlist and also the video before this one that I released this past Sunday. Have a good one Joe!
No your good, you watched the video I put out just before this one. Sorry about that.
sir, you saved me. zip ties worked. thanks
Awesome!!! Your welcome!
Was perfect you got shocked. I just installed our premier and was telling my kids about getting shocked. Then started watching your video next to them and they were like âwhoa, did he just get shocked!?â
Nice! It warms my heart to see kids in awe over farming/homesteading. All of our videos are kid friendly. No curse words period. No nasty jokes. I want kids to watch my videos to see how much fun it is. Thanks for watching! Appreciate it!
Putting in electric fence for the first time next week. New sub here. Thanks for the videos
Your very welcome! Are you putting up the netting from Premier 1? Thank you for subbing and welcome to the channel!
@@2Quacks5ClucksFarm nope. Putting up wire but watching as much as I can about the process. Iâm 100% a rookie.
Awesome! So your doing the perimeter first? Thatâs one thing I need to do! A permanent perimeter.
Whoa that was a close one! I thought I saw it curl your hair! đ. Great video thanks for sharing!!
Lol! Thank you! The thumbnail with the gator clip on my lip hurt more than what I thought it was and I did 5-6 different pics with it on my lip. OUCH! Thanks for watching Double D Chicks!
@@2Quacks5ClucksFarm I didnât see that one! Iâll check again!!
Yeah itâs the thumbnail of the video. Those gator clips hurt! Lol!!!
Happy New year
Happy New Year to you and your family as well Nusrat Kitchen!!!! Appreciate you!
I can strongly recommend getting the gate for going in and out. It is a lifesaver, especially if you have hard enough ground or can mount the ends on posts.
Beyond the fiber end posts, you can actually get the ones that come on the fence for about half the price of the fiber ones and double up if you don't like the sagging. More of an issue on uneven terrain than flat ground.
I have not used electric due to being in the city, however I have been tempted!
Give it a go if you have the space. Besides, the energizers for the poultry netting are ran by solar. Just make sure if you go that route you have a clear path going south because the solar panel needs to face south. If you have any questions at all please ask away! Iâm all ears! Thanks for watching Blooming in Place! Do you have a garden?
@@2Quacks5ClucksFarm Santa., a small one. I want the electric fence to keep the 2 footed predators out, lol.
Sit back- have a lemonade and watch them try ! đ
I love the fence gate Premier 1 sells. I did not want to step over the fencing and risk a fall. I also pull my garden cart through the gate each morning with the water and food for the chickens. I to use plenty of the support poles for my 100ft fences to hold up sagging sections.
I havenât tried their gate yet. Was thinking about it. Does it work well? Thank you! I also left you a comment under your comment on the Timshel Wildland Series chicken video.
@@2Quacks5ClucksFarm yes the gate works very well. I donât know why more people donât use it. I move my fencing every 3-4 weeks. Maybe not for those who move fences every few days
@@2Quacks5ClucksFarm I sent you an email in response to your reply on the other video.
Thank you so much!
Iâll have to look into the gate for sure! May make things easier for the kids. Thank you!
Doesn't feel to good get shocked huh! LOL!
No it doesnât! LOL!
Periodically getting somebody to lift the fence while you weed whack underneath I find is the best way to keep 8 kV or 6 kV coming on your tester. you have to have a minimum of 4 kV but itâs really not that strong
i use tpost with 2"pvc over in corners
We are getting ready to het our first pigs on our farm. Your videos on fencing have answered all my questions
Also love your farm sweatshirt, do you sell them?
Thank you @Alex Schwebach Iâm happy our videos have answered all of your questions! We will be selling merchandise here very soon! If you have ANY questions at all when it comes to your new pigs, the electric netting, feed or anything else shoot me a email or comment here. Are you going to be using electric netting? Rotating them? How old will the pigs be when you get them? Itâs very important to bucket train them when you first get them. Donât worry, itâs very easy. They will soon know when you have a bucket in your hand that itâs feeding time. I always used the red Tractor Supply buckets, that way they could easily see it. With the electric netting I never had a sow, boar or piglet get out. Never! Now there was one time when a sow exited through the entry point but that was my fault and I shook the bucket and she came back in. I trust Premier 1âs electric netting, nobody elseâs netting. This is how much I trust the netting, one of our sows had her piglets. About a day or two after having them they go into heat. Well, I had the boar in with a few sows in a separate paddock 20â from the sow who had the piglets and was in heat. Boris never even tested the fence. Now he bellowed a ton and I could here him all the way down at our house but he never busted through to get to her. Now, this was my experience. And Mangalitsas temperament is amazing. Hope this helps! Please feel free to ask away! Iâm all ears and will help you throughout your journey. Thanks Alex!
Great tip with the flag at the ground. You shocking yourself is a great indicator of what not to do. Maybe a premier one gate would be better?
Na. Honestly donât need a gate.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch!!
also drill holes for wires in bins with lids and keep the charger in there
what does blinking yellow and green means? Is there something that will tell you what the numbers mean on the digital tester. example 0.6 and 3.7
Have you any experience with Starkline? I was thinking of buying Starkline because it is cheaper.
The fix for the sagging is to push the posts tight at the bottom and angle the pole outward from the pen you are creating.
We have hard soil. I heard single spoke is better?
Do you like the green color vs white?
I pull mine out to walk through
Only had it a week it keeps grounding out
I will check that
Check the entrance, the bottom loop could be grounding out on the metal peg. Simple fix!
thinking about get this fence to keep deer/critters out. do you think this will work, tks?
Sure will! I use it for both my garden and my 2 chicken paddocks.
use regular t posts and slide pvc pipe over the posts
How do you take it off if it shocks you.
Electrical tape is also your friend regarding electrical fencing.
We were advised by Premiere one not to connect those two top connectors to each other if you only have a single fence connected to the charger. Those connectors are for attaching additional fencing. At least thatâs what we were told by Premiere one last week
I use 2 rolls of netting. Weird they would say that. The connectors at the top of the netting you would push into each other and put the alligator clip coming from the energizer onto the adjoining connectors on the netting.
@@2Quacks5ClucksFarm We just got our first fence. Itâs the Perma Fence. We had those clips connected and called them about something else and it came up in conversation. Thatâs when they said not to connect them if you are only using one roll of netting. Fence is definitely charged all the way around without them clipped though
Just get a gate: it is a game changer
I got shocked too when I touched the clip (it was on but no longer on the fence) is this normal and ok?
Thanks for asking. Yes, itâs completely normal. As long as the energizer is on that clip will be âhotâ. It will give you a small jolt but youâll be okay. I canât count how many times Iâve accidentally shocked myself. Thanks for watching! Hope this answer helps. If you have more questions please feel free to ask.
@@2Quacks5ClucksFarm Thanks for the feedback!
Your welcome!
I didn't think the bottom horizontal run was energized!??
Lol
Great product. Rude people working there. Try to get a refund.
