Saying the north has lack of diversity is very silly, I think Southerners just project whatever ideas they have onto the north without actually thinking. - A southerner

The thieving scouser meme isn't just a southern thing.
I've heard plenty of northerners say it over the years.

West Britain gets ignored completely. Anything west of Cardiff ain’t culturally Southern. And Wales definitely ain’t either Northern or Southern.

Well that's the west country, and as the name suggests is almost a country on its own.
All I know is they invented cream teas, it starts at wiltshire, and they are a mysterious people with their language and culture

As an East Midlands guy, based in Nottingham i'd rather be associated with the North! However i have friends in Northamptonshire which are classed in BBC as EastMidlands , but are surely South!

Northampton is just down the road from Coventry, and it definitely doesn't feel like the south.
I dunno know though, because I've met people from Peterborough and Norwich who claim to be from the south, which makes me think they're just a bit wealthier than the average midlander.

I assume it's that famous northern sense of humour we've all heard so much about.
A bit like some southerners say that the north is anytwhere north of Watford.

Couldn’t live up north. Weather is absolutely shocking. It’s only just about bearable down south. Having little or no summer would just do my head in.
