TBH modern HS decks are stronger than some bosses from back in the day
It’s especially fitting considering Trump’s deck is just an amalgamation of good cards and he has a literal win condition

Also, to elaborate on the Deepwater Evoker in Mech Mage:
During the early days of Sunken City, some lists of Mech Mage ran this Drakefire Amulet package of Balinda Stonehearth, Deepwater Evoker, and Drakefire Amulets. The idea is to trade away the Amulets, use your Evoker to tutor spells, which only consisted of Drakefire Amulets for 10 armor + trade or Seafloor Gateway to discount your Mechs, and use Balinda to draw ideally your Drakefires and cheese wins with 5 mana Drakefires and a 10/10 Balinda. It was quickly figured out to be weaker than slotting in some burn in the form of Fireball, especially since the times Balinda hits a Gateway is really bad, yet that was enough for the Returning Player Deck for Mage this expansion to include the Drakefire package.
Which is to say, yes, Mech Mages do sometimes run Deepwater Evoker. Old, bad lists, but lists nonetheless.

They could definitely buff Murloc Holmes so that it keeps any guesses you get right but stops when you get one wrong. It's a shame to waste such a flavorful card which tons of people have in diamond from the pass.
Yeah, its a cool card but way too restrictive
Honestly, no for multiple reasons. First off it would be way too unbalanced. Basically whenever you play holmes you usually get the first one, I'd say about an 80% chance for the second, and a 50/50 for the third. Add that together and that's 2.2* cards (forgot to multiply the 0.5 by 0.8). Multiply the chances for the current effect that's 100% * 80% * 50% = 40% and 40% * 3 is 1.2. The chances are probably off but they still show how gigantic that buff would be, when in reality holmes is already alright. 2nd flavour, right now holmes makes you solve a mistery, no matter what. You have to answer right to get anything, if it was changed, then on the 3rd round you'd almost always just pick the card that you want to get. If you are right you get a good card if not you miss out on a shitty card. Also for the balance question, this is the single most skill testing card in the game with no contest. The winrate is in no way representative of its strength. When we get some kind of add-on or deck tracker extension that uses all available data to make the optimal choices, only then can we balance this card. It's sadly a too skill intensive card in a game not built around needing said skill.
@@vitkosbence3705 for a one of legendary I honestly don't think it would be too imbalanced still. It's pretty standard for spider tank stat line + discover a card nowadays and discovering random cards that don't contribute to your game plan isn't what most decks are looking for nowadays. So it would be strong in a vacuum but wouldn't necessarily be game breaking, sort of like how Colossus' are blatantly overtuned but we accept it because they're just one of's that don't necessarily build a win condition. But yeah they could adjust it to offer 4 choices instead or adjust the order so that you solve one of the more difficult ones first. I just don't like the all or nothing design where rather the opponent's upset or you are (for some reason blizzard loves to do this). But I'm willing to bet it won't see play in it's current state even when we know the meta, except maybe thrown in a murloc synergy based deck, which is sad and a waste.
You should keep at least the first card if you get 2 right. Getting nothing because you wiffed the last clue is too much punishment IMO.

In crafting the last cards for this deck, I got the final cards from the expansion and thus the special coin, which I LOVE the look of. I love the way this deck plays, though I imagine that'd change if I'm facing quest hunters.
Of course that ranking up you're experiencing was at gold to platinum, not diamond or legend, but I am at diamond 10 and this is doing just fine day 4 of the expansion.

Murloc Holmes is fun but in practice he gives you too many possible options. I was thinking it’d be more obvious which choice to pick, but especially when it comes to deck choice I almost always saw at least 2 possible options and often 3.
Value comes not just from cards, but also from the info you get. So even if you miss, it's still worth it.

Murloc Holmes gives me an idea for a funny flavor card, along the same vein. "Three Card Monty". 3 mana 3/3 neutral pirate legend. Battlecry: Discover a card from your deck, monty shuffles it in with two worthless imps (or equivalent useless 1 mana 1/1's), and mixes them up, and you have to find your card. Guess right, you get your card from your deck, guess wrong, you get an imp and your card is burned. repeat once more. So if you're good at following the shuffle, 3 mana draw 2 cards of your choice, but if you suck at it, well, you lost 2 cards and got 2 crappy imps.
5:53 1 mana wildseed explanation according to my theory: Each wildseed costs equal mana to the turns they're supposed to be summoned (fox 1 turn = cost, bear 2 turns = 2 cost, stag 3 turns = 3 cost). Since the hunter casted the spell that reduces the wildseeds dormant state by 1 turn, the stag went to 2 turns and then the second spell made it spawn in 1 turn. Apparently the wildseed cost got connected to the turns it took to spawn, so since the stag spawned after 1 turn the cost became 1. Does that make sense? :D
No it was because he had the card die that makes your next beast cost 3 less.

Gosh, even though you won against that one Prestor Druid, it's still utterly disgusting how they simply burn you down when they find Kazakus. The stupid Fireball treasure should be removed as long as Druid has access to Guff. You were at full health with an huge board, the turn after you were at four health. Just ridiculous. Now they can even find the new Druid Dragon which perfectly synergies with the supporting spells in that deck... Nice...
the 30 card version of this is actually more consistent.. i put in almost all discover cards.. as well as a little thief package with theotard... i found that the 3 drop thief card is too slow
