    Truly a work of art and, yeah it rides so well, and is surprisingly quiet at the higher power levels on the street, choice of tyres helps a lot, and man I imagine that trail puts the sportsman formula to work.
    Excellent work team, this is the kind of thing I aspire to someday

    Very nicely done. I **truly** appreciate a clean and thoughtful build (as most of us do, I would imagine). When it really comes down to it, home built e-bikes aren't particularly difficult (at least after you've built one or two - it's commonly available technology with a straightforward implementation). At the risk of oversimplifying it, 'anyone can do it', provided 'anyone' is willing to put forth the most minor of mental and mechanical effort to learn and teach yourself things you may not know. I find that the thing that truly makes a home-build fantastic and stand out, is something so cleanly thought-out and implemented as to make it something you wouldn't think twice about finding on a showroom floor for sale as a commercial product for the general public. Ya know, something that looks "finished". Fantastic build mate!!

    A Quality & Professional DIY BBSHD Build. The DIY E- bike build is for sure the way go to building a custom & affordable E-Bike to suit ones "specific criteria & needs".
    A "DIY" ebike will achieve a product on which can be easily maintained by the owner, parts sourced & fixed with ease if done correctly. I like to see a big name E-Bike (store bought) being fixed in the same manner without breaking the bank or having it sent away & possible waiting weeks/ months. 🤑💰👎😔
    Yes anyone can build an Ebike, but what sets E-bikes like these apart is Proper Research, planning, engineering, custom modifications, cable management, Component placement, & thinking outside the box through trial an error is what makes a good bike, "Great".
    A saying i like to follow is:
    He who never makes a mistake, has never made anything. 🤔
    From one Aussie to another, Well Done Mate. "Monty", you should be Proud 👏 👍🇦🇺🍻🚵😎

    Very cool build, can't wait to finish mine using this frame. I went with a 6kW cyclone mid drive for mine and have it all hooked up but still need to get the group set and wheels. I do wonder why he went for a separate 12v system as opposed to running a DC-DC converter which can run his lights from only a small package and less complexity.

    • @monty7252
      @monty7252 Před rokem

      Hi mate, I used a seperate 12v battery because A: There's room for it and B: I want my 72v battery to have one job and one load.

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  Před rokem

      Right on! Please share when you are done on Discord. We don't get to hear much on the Cyclone. The separate 12 volt system is one we often talk about. There is less room than you might think with the Lite frame. As as result it is advantageous to not drain the main battery with additional feeds. Do yes its a bit more complex but you get longer range and Monty loves his night rides in the bush!

  • @dimamanzano
    @dimamanzano Před rokem +5

    Nice build. I also have bbshd, stock controller, 52v 28ah battery, regular bike frame. Didn't manage go to 72v still, riding this motor 5.5 years. Do you think on such a frame type as on this video it is still the best using mid drive motor? Or it make sense go for a hub motor? I'm almost sure I don't want 72v hub motor on a regular bike frame because it's dangerous and it can broke. I've no idea if I will be able to sell my bike and buy a new one but want to try 72v someday, not sure is it better to buy the whole bike already or make it myself as I always did before, I had 3 types of bikes, 2 weak 36v battery hub motors and same bbshd on 5 bikes already, it is unbelievably reliable, riding full throttle all the time about 50k kms.

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  Před rokem +1

      We do an upgrade kit for the bbshd that will get you 72 volts. The link is in the description or you can email greg@highvoltagekits.com directly. You can use a hub at 72 volts safely but you need to do some things like torque arms to be sure. You are welcome to join our Discord to learn as well as meet people using our kits. Cheers

    That's a big upgrade on frame.. looks allot lighter.. looks like the cyclone mo motor? I need to up grade to that drive system. The separate battery 12v and main rock. I almost did on my build. The heated gear sucks up power.. but need in winter. Will be making separate.. any videos you recommend on drive systems?? Thanks and God bless Great build👊👊💪💪

      Hey man, in terms of drive systems I'd join the discord if you are not already and post. This bike is the bbshd. The cyclone is a bit flakey to be reliable. If you want power the Lightning Rods stuff is very good.

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  Před rokem

      He's not a balls out rider. It's setup at about 60% there. Nothing against hubs but he rides alot in the Aussie bush so the ability to fix punctures and even maintain the motor is very important. You can absolutely build a cool fast bike with this frame and hub motors though.
