    I have the tein EDFC active pro on my sti. There is two settings. One is faster and one is smoother. The smooth setting feels like your driving on a cloud around corners and the other feels like the car is planting the outside wheels to the ground. Best desicion I ever made for the DD and performance of my car.

      When you bought the active pro kit did you have to buy the motors separately?

      I was thinkin of gettin these but , 600$ just to adjust dampening plus the 1k on coils doesnt make sense to me. Might as well go with air bags

      This is gratifying to hear. I've got this set up along with flex a coilovers waiting to go on my 08. I've heard from owners of other cars mostly liking the system but not anyone that had it installed on any generation sti. For how much it all cost when said and done you're talking of being in the price range of some kw or similar coilovers.

      +lrnlrn If you set up the coilover damping with them correctly the car should absolutely be faster, plus it makes those adjustments sooo much easier, so you can test out different settings on the fly for any conditions.

    RSD, in your experience, is the optional strut kit even necessary? I mean in your shop car, did the wires ever become tangled without the strut kit? Would love to hear your feedback since I'm debating buying the Active Pro kit soon for my BRZ but don't feel like taking apart the strut/top hat just to install EDFC strut kit. Forgot to mention I'm running Tein Street Flex currently for coilovers.

      It's been awhile since we installed this kit but if I remember correct we did not use the strut kit and it worked out just fine.

    this is work only with Tein Suspension ?

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  Před 6 lety

      It will be a direct bolt on with the Tein suspension and I would imagine it would take some custom work to get it to fit on another brand of suspension.

  • @AndrewB23
    @AndrewB23 Před 4 lety +1

    So for a little over $600 you don't even get the motors to use on the coil overs, at first I was okay with the price thinking it came with everything but now I think I'll pass. It's an additional $170 for the motors, why not just include them with the kit.

    • @suchgr8hieghts
      @suchgr8hieghts Před 4 lety

      Right, makes no sense

    • @donmerrigan2362
      @donmerrigan2362 Před 4 lety +2

      It makes perfect sense. Not every car uses the same motors. Many cars don't even use the same motors on the front coilovers as the back coilovers. And i don't believe all the different size motors cost the same either. So it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to have packages set up for every different set up that might be needed.

    • @darkknight097
      @darkknight097 Před 3 lety +2

      @@donmerrigan2362 Right? They complaining about price but what other suspension company offers something amazing like this in this price range??

    • @donmerrigan2362
      @donmerrigan2362 Před 3 lety

      @@darkknight097 I don't remember the exact cost now but it was somewhere around $900 to get the active pro, the motors, the gps sensor and the wire mounts for the front motors to make sure the wiring can't get tangled on anything due to the front wheels needing to turn unlike the rears. And that was on top of $900 for a set of tein flex a coilovers. For $1800 you could certainly get yourself one hell of a set of static, set it and forget it coilovers. But that really isn't a crazy price for a suspension that can change it's dampening not only at the at the push of a button as you please, but can do so on its own, based off speed and do each corner independent of the others for whatever is best for your current settings and driving situation. How much do people think it costs to put a basic, 3 setting active suspension in production cars these days?

    • @mrman8856
      @mrman8856 Před rokem

      @donmerrigan2362 And them prices still haven't changed, lol. The EDFC Active is around 650 with the motors, and about another 150 for GPS. The Flex Z coilovers I have cost 850 so rounded off thats $1500 for something that will cost thousands more from factory or other aftermarket manufacturers of the same type of system.
