Ghostbusters Afterlife Proton Pack Role Play Toys Are Great!

- Now that Jay has seen Ghostbusters Afterlife (several times lol) He wanted to finally review the kids role play toys from Hasbro! Hasbro has pulled out all the stops by providing us with all the Ghosbusting equipment a kid could need with the Proton Pack, Neutrona Wand, PKE Meter and Ghost Whistle. (I have not found the RTV Trap yet) How do these toys compare to the kenner originals and will the kids in your life care about these toys? Jay will share his Geek Dad thoughts on it all!

I would of loved the new pack and neutrona wand as a kid. Back in the 80s a scuba tank and vacuum attachment is what I was rocking for a proton pack.
That's a great set up! Could also sub in for a slime blaster!
Nice that kids get these now. I myself have only seen the PKE meter in my Walmart. Nothing else lol. Hopefully parents can find them.
Did pick up a PKE Shocker, pretty fun toy to be honest. In my part of west Texas I've seen everything but the pack itself here so far.

I got the pack of Amazon also. My son has the 2016 pack hanging on his wall and wanted one like my spirit Halloween pack. He was over the moon when I got these for him. I opted fo the cheaper wand so my wife wouldn’t kill me. And I’m glad now that you pointed out the more expensive one doesn’t attach. The only thing he complains about that the wand isn’t attached like mine. So I’m looking at getting some yellow hose to work into it somehow. Even if you don’t have kids, it’s a great smaller display piece to put on a wall in any GB display!

I think it's crazy the pack still isn't available at retail yet - ridiculous that it's only online at this point and the movie has been out for over a week and it's prime time gift buying season. I also think it was silly for Hasbro to cheap out so badly that the pack doesn't even have a back, let alone a hose! The hose should have come as an easy accessory for at least the pack. The whole aura of a Ghostbusters pack is that it's all connected together and gives you that feeling of immense power at your finger tips. I think kids definitely pick up on this stuff - I loved that my original pack had a legit hose I had to connect.
What I'm really curious about is will Hasbro do a Deluxe toy pack to go with the MOD wand? The rear end of the mod wand clearly has an attachment area that could be used for the hose. The problem is, I don't know how it would even attach since Hasbro and their brain trust didn't think that far ahead. Either way, I think they should have combined both ideas into a slightly better pack, with actual lights and electronics for kids to buy. It's so cheap of them to make your buy them separately, because then the effort doesn't go into the entire package, it's all piecemeal and not as fun.

I do not, other than my review the Spengler Neutrona Wand, where that clip comes from.
So just rewatched ghostbusters after annd I noticed something. When Ray is talking to Phoebe on the phone he says egon took “an ecto 1. Not ecto 1 or the ecto 1 but an ecto 1. So the other is somewhere.
It's funny how some people complain that the MOD wand doesn't fit the pack... when there is that small wand specially designed for it.
Does the proton wand m.o.d attach to the pack because I can’t decide which one to buy my kids?
It does not, I test that out about halfway through the video, so if you want your kid to have the whole pack, get the smaller and cheaper one (it’s also the better one in my opinion)

$15! in the UK the PKE Meter is the equivalent of $26.... we always get ripped off.

Bought the proton pack thinking it was for all ages or atleast have adjustable straps I'm a 14 year old male and it didn't fit me I wanna be a kid again :(

Great?! 🤨 The pack is like just a piece of plastic for $20 and you have to buy the wand separate which is $30(?) I would put that money towards a spirit pack for a kid.
I don't see what's so interesting in a movie that a "sequel" but its only a bloody repaint with lousy characters. Zero creativity and zero lack of effort.
The movie, unfortunately, was boring and bad. Why would my kid want to dress up and pretend to be something boring and bad…..?
