    My kid is absolutely loving this toy so far. I've been using the electronic Spengler's Nutrona Wand when we play around the house and now she has one that "matches" it! 🚫👻

    I bought the standard version, gonna get here on Friday. I just had to get it, I missed my Kenner stuff I had when I was a kid.

    It would be cool to paint it up and modify it to look like the prop wand.

    these proton blasters are very good to mod and attach to the spirit proton pack. thats why i bought two of them.

      That's a good call out, it looks way better than the existing blaster on the spirit pack!

      Indeed. When I first saw it in 2020 at the toy fair I knew it would be a good match in scale to the spirit pack.

    It needed more mods that makes sense to add off the back or side.

      I agree, there are def a few mod modes that feel half baked.

    I think 3+ is a good age thing for this. Like there are no small parts. I know a 3 year old who would adore this

      @GeekDadLife  Před 2 lety

      You just have to hold it down till it overloads, there isn’t a quicker way unfortunately

      Don’t touch the shoot trigger on the blaster for a few seconds or minutes then it will make a power down noise. But if you put the attachments it will power it back on.

    It’s such a great little toy, but the no off button is a ridiculous omission. Especially since the noises it makes before shutdown are like random monster screams and the like.
    Even my toddler was annoyed. So we opened it up and snipped the wire to the speaker so she can light up Slimer without it being accompanied a bunch of loud, tinny sound effects.

    The biggest mistake and total cheap-out from Hasbro besides the on/off switch was not providing a hose. It literally has a handle attachment for 2 things that we'll probably never see in the film, yet there is no hose?! Kenner figured out how to do one cheap in the 1980s, this just lazy from Hasbro. The empty shell of a Proton Pack is pretty awful cheapness too - but I love the sounds and lights on this. Would have been even cooler if it projected different ghosts that reacted when the trigger was pulled and did a different animation on the wall. Hasbro got like "half creative" with this blaster then called it a day - the mods are worse than those stupid lightsaber mods from Star Wars.

      Yeah it def has some good things and some half baked things, still better than what Mattel gave us though!
