Love how vulnerable he is making himself in this interview!
I was a little taken aback by it!
He's so honest and real in his interviews, there's just no pretension with him
I think he is mildly intoxicated.
"It's just something I know". Me too buddy, me too.
Michael Shannon is very underrated
By whom?
Fuckin truth
Agree
He is! I really wish he’d put himself out there more (or maybe he does try, I don’t know) but honestly I can say he is one of my top favorite actors and not just because of how he depicts rage (although that’s certainly part of it). I love how he can depict rage while being a real character, not just this cartoon cutout that goes “HULK SMASH”, he makes you believe this guy could be your neighbor and this is how pissed he can get. He’s just very real, and a brilliant actor.
No. Hes not. This works is full of parrots. Why does everyone say this? Look up the word "underrated " and then delete your comment.
Michael Shannon is seriously among the most underrated actors alive today
I've never seen an actor be so open like this. 2.30 onwards is quite emotional, you can see his pain. Seems like a really nice person and an incredibly talented guy. Hope he gets more recognition for his work in future.
The part at the end is pretty sad. I can relate to it as far as parents in an abusive relationship. He wasn't acting. He was recreating something he saw as a kid. The nasty and overpowering, dismissing language of a man towards his wife. That's something that scarred him as a child, and he invoked it for that line. Michael, I'm glad you were at least able to make something good out of that terrible experience and it helped your career. We'll never completely heal from it, but at least there is some kind of silver lining. I'm happy for you, friend
Well said
I think you’re projecting pretty extremely here.
Ive never seen such good interviews anywhere else. This is amazing.
he's trying to talk about some deep emotional shit and this happy ass music creeps up on him lololol great interview though
Blake Huebl in my opinion, it is constructive, instead of taking away too much. The interview is tough and deep, and the music quells the heartbreak.
Blake Huebl 😂
It’s one of the fundamentals of interviewing someone. Sociologists use that tactic a lot, it keeps the interview on track and helps get more out as opposed to sticking on one thing and getting bogged down by it.
Mathew it’s also just a cut clip for CZcams from a full interview
@@TronVilahahaha you tell em tyrone
this dude got a dark past
Michael Shannon is a brilliant actor! Fantastic interview.
There's a certain grace in which Michael Shannon expresses his rage in these scenes.
It's not like he approaches the rage in a certain way, he just knows about it, he is very familiar with it. He probably doesn't have to act to express it, maybe he just calls in from reserve or just redirects it.
Loved his work in Nocturnal Animals. Great guy, great actor
Brilliant actor. Eats up every scene he's in.
This is such a freakin awesome show, seriously good stuff.
I look up to him so much
Damn man, that one went deep
Beautiful actor, his work is extraordinary. Mesmerizing performances that stay with you.
Good Lord, this guy is intense! Brilliant.
You guys deserve way more than just 8 000 views!
I've said that on other videos but in my humble opinion, this dude is one of the best actors around these days
He truly is, but he’s not strikingly handsome and he doesn’t have a big social media presence, so he’s not as well known as he deserves to be.
He's the best. That is all.
Michael Shannon is so intriguing to me. I would love to be experience what's in his head. He seems outwardly very docile and thoughtful, but there's incredible intensity in there. What a beautiful man.
the ending , my heart shattered
Hes friggin amazing actor
Michael is an amazing actor. Very convincing in every role.im glad he's on stage and has this art for an outlet.
I don't know who this actor is, but after 3 clips ... I know I like him.
Check out agent van Alden in broadwalk empire . Worth it .
Wayno Walden also General Zod from Man of Steel and Strickland from The Shape of Water
Amazing! I love how he uses his pain to bring to life such riveting characters or even moments on screen.
my new fav actor
Michael Shannon is a Forceful actor This guy is the best underrated actors ever
It impresses me how he is able to utilise his past experiences in his acting. It takes a lot of strength to relive what appears to be painful moments in his life to make his characters all that more believable.
Where can find the full interview? This man knows how to interview! I love it.
Though there wasnt much of a detailed answer to the question on how to approach rage, Shannon gave the most true answer. Sometimes you know how to the person you're playing because you have lived a similar life to the character. It's easier to play someone if you've been them.
Chills.
You guys need to see “My Son My Son What Have Ye Done?” if you haven’t yet. It’s a bizarre, unsung masterpiece. To me, one of Herzog’s greatest narrative films and it’s oddly produced by David Lynch. Something in court must’ve went down on that film because NO ONE involved in the production so far as mentions it. But, boy, what a really special movie and epic performance by Michael Shannon.
I love this man.
Brilliant actor, utterly underated, one of the best,
The only other person besides my mom that I've heard call it "pop".
he recently made my top 5 best actors list hes AMAZING
Great actor.
Man you can tell Michael has been through some things.
I like this guy
Brilliant actor
I am so in love w/ this guy.
PLEASE add the whole thing to Netflix please
Nice video so amazing
just watched “Bug” and i about shit myself. goddamn that left me with my mouth dropped. fucking shit, it was sickening. i loved it.
That movie sucked
Its obvious that he doesn't want to really reveal anything specific, but its real and alive and he is seeing it right there and its a can of worms, ugly worms. But he has to determine where to draw the line in self censure. I 💚 his acting
One of those rare actors who can play a character, rather than all characters being the actor.
Michael Shannon is a very Magnificent actor
very interesting and complicated individual...
Love Michael in every role he plays. Well I hated him in 8 Mile but you’re supposed to hate him lol u know what I mean. After watching Waco and Mud and The Night Before I feel like this man can perfect any character given to him. And no he’s not a handsome man but his face has so much character that it’s a thing of beauty in a way. Ok I’m rambling.
Michael intimidates the hell out of me
He was soooooooooooo good in shape of water
nice smile
Y'all seen that movie Bugs?
"I WILL FIND HIIIIIIM!"
"all the pop you can drink." Nice.
i wish the background was balck or darker
oh wow! his last words there... this is such a revelation. Michael Shannon seems to be such a closed private person, i've never seen an interview where he would let an interviewer look that deep into his mindset. wow, just wow
He would make for a great Dee Dee Ramone if they ever did a Ramones biopic.
wow.
Absolutely stole leo DiCaprio's thunder in Revolutionary Road
He’s like bill haders darker twin
he's the anti-mcconoghey.... he's authentic
Why you gotta put someone down to big someone up. Stop wt bad vibes.
I. WILL. FIND. HIM!!!!
Just his face is psychotically epic
not into all the cuts to the interviewer
Wow this is a scarred man.
THERE IS A STORM COMING!
One of his eyes is slightly bigger than the other
These are HEAVILY HEAVILY HEAVILY edited and it's annoying AF. There's so much more here, but godforbid they have two second of silence, or, a natural digetic conversation.
Sooo... Michael Shannon has emotional problems?
