Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth - Komedie
Man, Michael Shannon seems like the most chill person but on screen he is the most intense actor.
Joel Zedwick
"I'm just tired"
Joel Zedwick Oh yes, that's the right word - 'intense'! He looks like a guy you don't wanna mess with.
Joel Zedwick idk, kylo ren (adam driver) is quite intense too
Group F thanks. Will do
He speaks so differently from his usual roles in Hollywood, it really drives home how amazing an actor he is
a great actor, Mr. Shannon is.
Peter Houle Yoda, you are.
I dunno, all interviews I see of his 'true self', just reminds me of his characters from Boardwalk and Iceman....I will avoid his daughters, lol
He has such a "bad guy" face.
huh?
He has a handsome face.
Just a furrowed brow.
probably because he has such a manly face
He was amazing in this film.Should have been nominated for an oscar.
He has many great roles. He deserves Oscar or at least Golden Globe.
Ilang Ilang I agree with you
He was tremendous in Nocturnal Animals, imho the best of 2016, but his Oscar nomination did not lead to a win. Hopefully, he will be recognized soon.
fully agree
I want him to play a supportive stoner father in a coming of age movie
absolutley
I mean, he played a stoner in The Night Before. Pretty close.
I could listen to him tell stories all day. Excellent and underrated actor.
all around actor, very versatile. like came from golden era of Hollywood
Michael Shannon is such a joy on screen as well as off.
I’m so happy he actually mentioned Doug because he doesn’t get to do interviews so THANKS!!! I love Shannon!!!
Boy, Michael is terrifyingly charming and funny as hell.
Only an actor of immense talent can make eating candy seem menacing. Way to go, Michael Shannon!
I certainly hope James Lipton gets around to interviewing him for the Actor's studio. I think he'd be very insightful.
Watch him chew up and spit out Decaprio in Revolutionary Road.
medalla30x omg he was so amazing in Revolutionary Road
Broooo. That movie fucked me up
LITERALLY
In everything I've seen him in (except Groundhog Day) he's been very intense.
He seems quite laid back in person. Looks like he'd be fun to chill with! 😏
Drew Lovelyhell he really is lol always dramatic and silently menacing
Sheridan me?
Sheridan I've seen it lol I was mostly agreeing about his normal character traits in mostly every other movie or show. He really used to creep me out in Boardwalk Empire 😣
Wrestlemania!!!
Don't forget about Let's Go to Prison! He's hilarious on that movie.
this guy is a true professional actor...very very good and underrated
I truly enjoy this man's art. Whether he's playing a bad guy or hero. I'm just amaze how he just transform. Its like Denzel. I hope i never hear anything negative from him. Too many bad guys in Hollywood.😊😊
He honestly looks like he is ready to spring out of that chair and out of the room as quickly as possible.
because of that annoying arsehole Seth.
He's incredible. An inspiration.
Damn he is so hot
So Guillermo DID win Best Director -- all praise to Michael Shannon for moving the light post!!
“If he wins best director he has me to thank” I think guillermo has some explaining to do now
3:36 Guillermo del Toro wins the 2018 Golden Globe for Best Director :). Now he needs to thank Michael for that .
His character in this film was pretty much the same as his character in Boardwalk Empire, which is a good thing, he was amazing in that too.
One of the best actors alive
He can play a young Clint Eastwood
One of the very greatest american actors alive in my opinion.
Don't say "there's an actor", say his name. Doug Jones is the heart of this movie, he deserves all the recognition in the world.
Awesome craftsman. All his roles are memorable.
I thought he would be an Oscar nominee :,( for the shape of water
He's like a scary Norm MacDonald
Shakes McTremens good observation. I love this comparison.
I think he looks like a more intense David Letterman.
Yes! I was trying to think who he reminds me of!
Oh my god, I can't unsee it now. Thank you so much for this blessing
He was fantastic in Man of Steel.
First Last “I WILL FIND HIM” his delivery of that line haunts me
Aidan Ryan heating it in my mind now and it’s powerful then!
This comment has to be a troll or else "I WILL FIND HIM"
This movie is fantastic
Sorry man, I hated Man of Steel
Some scenes I thought were hilarious
Damn, Michael Shannon is hot!
calm down Lola
He is so insanely handsome
Right? Thank you, KittyRikku! I’d love to give you a high five right about now. :)
Emily Akre virtual five? ✋ I've been a huge fan of his for a long time now and I've always found him attractive
KittyRikku, oh my goodness- yes! Same! Virtual five it is then! ✋ It’s always great to meet another Shannon fan!
Whoa, that was more impressive than I thought it'd be. He's a pretty deep, intelligent, professional guy - even if he sounds tired/drunk in this interview.
Seth is an awesome host
he's good in The Iceman
Ruperth316 do a 180 and watch him in the movie about bigfoot lol
Ruperth316 underrated movie
Shannon’s the best!!!
I love this guy! May I suggest some ideas for future creatures? Wilber Ross and Dowd.
He's so funny! LOVE how he bent sideways to show him backing up the car. Uuummhmmm
If you google the 90s movie 'Small Soldiers' there's an action figure named Kip Killigan that looks exactly like Michael Shannon, but with a cigar.
Fascinating
Michael It's a great actor, good job my friend
Loved his character in nocturnal animals
mike shannon should do a movie playing letterman
my favorite roll he ever did was in Nocturnal Animals
One of the greatest actors around.
He needs to play a leading man in a romantic comedy!
He kinda did! Check out Pottersville; he's the lead in a cute, silly, romantic-y holiday comedy and it's delightful!
SHANNON Such a savage OF AN ACTOR
Michael Shannon is a delight as usual
I WILL FIND THE OSCAR
I WILL FIND IT
I WILL FIND IT!!!!
Just by listening to him you’d never guess what a great actor he is.
Nelson Van Alden!
He was great in the film!
Greeeeeeat actor!!!!
I bought his bad guy any day of the week
He's got a touch of Norm McDonald to him
Michael Shannon is hot
💓Michael Shannon 💓
Him and Doug are geniuses
I remember him from "Let's Go to Prison" lol. Funny movie
He’s a great actor, but he has such a strange old timey sort of accent. The Caddies in this movie were incredible.
schmoab re: the accent - he picked up some Chicago traits (eg, the flattened ‘a’), superimposed on his Kentucky roots.
Always great, and so glad he was part of such an amazing project - The Shape of Water.
Michael played a great part in this movie !
I want him to work with Paul Thomas Anderson.
I met doug jones at la comic con very nice guy
3:36 “if he wins best director, he has me to thank” well, accomplished
Loved his role movie was great “It’s still Baltimore and nobody likes baltimore”
So straight actor
03:36 he won a Golden Globe for best director!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wehelp, looks like Del Toro needs to get writing that thank you card.
Shannon should play Al Bundy in the reboot.
Michael Shannon daddy though
He was really funny
Crak!! :v
~General Zod.
A born villain. Exceptional.
He was awesome in Boardwalk Empire. 😉
He should've been Cletus Cassidy (Carnage) in the Venom movie with Tom Hardy. Because he wasn't, he should be Norman Osborn for MCU's Spider-Man.
Ricky's dad seems nice.
His face reminds me alot of Tarantino for some reason.
He's like a mash-up between Gilbert Gottfried and Norm McDonald.
I’ve got the biggest crush on him 😍
He should get a role in The walking dead
Guillermo le agradeció?
3:36
"If he wins Best Director, he has me to thank."
And then he did win Best Director...
He gives off a Letterman vibe
He look so Evil!
but
I like him ^^
"honey your hand is bleeding.
Shhh. Silent silent.. I want you silent."
If you know what i mean.
it's a good thing he found acting ,because he would probably be in prison otherwise
Weird conversation
General Zod!
You heard it here everyone. Michael Shannon is the reason del toro won best director 😂
Haha, guess Guillermo has go back and thank Michael now :P
i met this actor in pearl harbor,
General zod !
OMG. It couldn't have been better. You created so much conflict in the character...just seething. The early scene where you watch Elisa mopping the floor. With the utmost subtlety you looked so predatory. Perfectly terrifying.
I find that there is a problem with Michael Shannen, great actor, great talent. But any time he plays a villain, you KNOW he’s the villain. There’s no tension when every time he plays an antagonist there’s no question. This is extremely minor, but it’s a gripe I have never the less.
Tall version of Tyrion Lannister
Please fix the bricks on the background; that cannot be allowed.
lmao. well he won best director and film.
SO HOT!!!!
He has a HUGE HEAD....
