In the several hundred hours of playing this game. I never realised you could choose where your reinforcements come in from. Absolute game changer.
I honestly like WH2 where you couldn't choose but they all came immediately, although in this particular case it would be worse.
I don't get how there is so many people who don't know they can do this, they sponsored it a lot at release because it's a new thing of wh3, in wh2 it wasn't possible

That was my campaign thanks for winning that battle for me! I did manage to kill wurrzag and the wizard a couple times but wasnt able to beat the rest of the army. And concerning my anti-knight policy i couldnt get them any in time coz i was global recruiting for my main army figting skarbrand and alberic fighting in lustria 😅

Brettonian lords dont expand the supply lines penalty. You can recruit a new one and use it to get good units then ferry them to a better commander.
What did we learn?
Bro just spam archers there is literally no reason to ever recruit bretonnian melee infantry, they aren't worth the boots they are wearing (if any).
Both them and peasants die instantly as soon as they come into contact with anything that isn't skavenslaves, but one of them will at least shoot while the enemy is approaching.

Bretonnian infantry have the usage of being shot at. I think most artillery actually lose balance of power if all they shoot is men at arms, kind of like shooting clanrats. If the artillery shoots when your guys are in melee, that's even better.
Don’t pay for meatshields, unless you are a VC I suppose.

@@azpont7275 Hey I didn't say "recruit an army of peasants" but once you're in the battle of one, we might as well know how to use them. Even if we only recruited many of OUR WORST UNITS.
I'm pretty sure if the artillery doesn't entirely wiff you gain balance of power shooting skavenslaves. Artillery that does poor damage per shot usually has a lot of ammo to compensate.
But that's what peasant's high hp pool is for. Men at arms should be this: men with arms, none of that ''inbred weaklings who lose to gobbos and skaven slaves'' bullcrap
@@ruukinen yeah, would say depends on the artillery. Eagle bolt thrower probably balances out but almost all of the dwarfs and Chaos dwarfs would be a waste.

The guy that sent the save: Nah... I don't think so.
Peasant mobs have a place in very early game and against heavy artillery and missile factions. However. Never rely on them ofc. Just make them the target. Let the enemy waste their energy on them then send everything else in. Given that you have no supply lines and mobs have no upkeep ( or minimal upkeep ), the damage they can abdorb in a supporting army can make a world of difference in dangerous times.

@@sydorovich2532 I value them about the same as zombies. Tire the enemy out with something that has a surprising amount of hp to absorb big blasts so your squishier but high dps stuff can do the work needed with bright eyes and bushy tails
@@perrymeril I know, it's just hilarious that Brettonian best and most loreful use of their own people is being meatshields for enemy artillery and archers.
In WH2 on legendary i had a situation where my army build only of archers was attacked by full stack of savage orks... i barely won this with like a lord and 2 units left standing...it was such a disaster.
To be fair with men-at-arms, compared to a saurus warrior or a black ork ie, or all of the nightmares roaming around in WH fantasy world… Soon as the guys on my left and right start dissapearing, I think I would run as well ! Lol 😂

Brettonnia's infantry is so much weaker in warhammer 3 than tabletop. Their infantry sucked ass in tabletop too but it wasn't to this extent. Maybe it's because he's on legendary
i did 3 full peasant only campaigns playing as repanse and it was loads of fun but that was on normal difficulty
To be honest, Bretonnia would be better if there were mechanics in place to allow for greater reliance on Peasants. Expanding on the Knight & Peasant mechanics just recently put in place would be a great step in that direction, because I think Bretonnia is better imagined as a "Knight & Peasant" faction than a "Cavalry" faction.
Yeah! I'm thinking something like give the Grail Reliquae the "Knight" tag, and then make "Knight" and "Peasant" work together kind of like Yin and Yang for Cathay to incentivize combined-arms builds.
@@FollowMe1789 I think it's obvious the knight mechanic was stolen from Cathay with the goal of encouraging what you described. For the record I don't think it's wrong that they import mechanics from one faction to another inside the game (like food with Skaven/Ogres), but the fact that they needed this much time to just start to flesh out Bret is really not good. They really need not only reworked and expanded mechanics, but even more: Bret needs an expanded *Identity* beyond just heavy cav go smash haha le funny french accent. But I'd bet money on that it won't happen (soon). Because this'd require first an updated and more comprehensive view (an 'objectively better opinion' imo) of the real Middle Ages. And old GW was really bad at that, and the newer publishers, be it GW or CA or others, aren't incentivized to do anything, since Bret is not a fan favourite. In certain cases, like the Skaven, LM, Vampirates, Chorfs they really nailed the *feel* of the faction with units and/or mechanics. So it's ironic that a human faction got left behind if you think about it. They can't do better because they lack the references and foundations to build on and this is apparent in every facet of Bret's design - it's surface level.
Tl/dr: they don't get the real Middle Ages so they are unable to do a better Bret, the fantasy variant. Just like the Skaven are more than meatshield rats, Bret needs to be more than just knights.
I'd take a guess that this is a bit true for Kislev as well, but at least they got ice magic and bears.
It’s funny because once you get the techs in to raise the peasant cap they’re decently useful as trash stacks. The problem is that they really suck early game because peasants are cheap, low-quality units AND you are heavily limited on how many you can field in the early game.
From the godly new cavalry stack to this lowly peasant army. Love it

Archers with great accuracy have a habit of wasting 80% of a volley to kill the exact same entity

As someone that has played a lot of Brettonia, I generally have armies in groups of 2: a full knight army supported by a full peasant army that is mostly archers and siege, with some infantry to defend.

I was looking for a good skaven video… but none have been out… however this still fits:
I described the warhammer fantasy and total war games as a cybernetic Rat dressed as Gandalf riding on a motorcycle casting space lightning and ordering nuclear strikes ripping apart an entire continent unstopped while you are a fucking peasant holding a pitchfork wondering why you are taking orders from a literal fairy godmother that controls the forest, and are allied with a tree holding a sword while you can’t understand a word it says, a man who married his cousin and rides a lion with wings, and a knock off joan of ark who smells and fights like a barn…
They're actually quite good, varied *militia* units. In tabletop, better protected than imperial greatswords.
Problem is, CA did not implement any knights on foot units.

Honestly you better off only recruiting the ranged version of both of the Peasants and Skavenslaves. They can do some damage and die just as fast as the non-ranged versions. A few heroes can kite the enemy long enough if you use them well.

If they're gonna rout anyway, might as well not pay them.
I recruited a couple of peasant mob armies but it was only to maintain public order in Norsca while the corruption went away and I developed the provinces.
By this time I had multiple doomstacks that I didn’t want to pin down, so free peasant mob was the best unit for the job.

I love Brtonnia but I only use cavalry and some archers, and the trebuchets

I wish CA would add some dismounted grail knights like aspiring champions unit to boost discipline of bretonia infantry like contempt mechanics in chaos dwarfs and even more bonuses to bretonian infantry in research.
Nah, they ll add 3 variants of Grail relique: best - mounted yomen archer with basic missile arm-piercing damage of 35, but only with 2 archers, all others are ordinary yomen, carring grail reliques, this unit will be called yo-yo men, unlockable at 30 level and in dlc for 9,99 with historic accurate doom LL like chaos skaven slave and giant chaos dwarf giant (with passive ability called jerking of magma when he s on his wheelchair), so Grail relique would be a strong new LL, not mentionibg he couldnt move, till 12 level, when unlockin his second carrier (the first one will be bugged, so they will unleash 3 patches, ruining your mod order and all saves)

I dont think so cause with a big enough blob the shear damage of comet compensate for the extra wind

Overcast spirit leech only increases maximum cast range I believe…
It also doubles the damage

@@javicoca If you have 2 casters you can single cast with one and over cast with the other and the effects stack. Useful if you have to burst down a regenerating hero. (Similar mechanic to stacking ash storm)

I got a question cuz im kinda new to Warhammer 3 why i cannot recruit units from rewards of renown?( even if it says after i get BIG WAAAA and win it, that i can recruit them) the button where it should be aviable is saying u cannot recruit bla bla bla now.
if you mean regiments of renown, a lot (i think most) of them are actually dlc units. i just had the same issue with my friend who couldn't recruit helf ror. you can check what dlc each ror unit is from in the wikia. but about the waaagh units, they appear in the ror tab, so maybe if you don't have it unlocked via the dlc you can't recruit the waaagh units? it would be a silly bug but not sth beneath ca to actually do

@@patrykzmuda674 yeah, at lvl 20 you should have access to at least some regiments of renown if you have them. do you have either the skarsnik dlc or the grom dlc? if not and if that's an option for you, you could try getting either one and see if the waaagh units would appear then, but still, it would be really silly if one of the greenskins' mechanics was only unlocked if you bought the dlc for regiments of renown, that would be an awful oversight... esp if the game claims you can recruit those units. unfortunately not the first bug in tw games

Honestly, I would love for Legend to sometimes upload disasters that were so hard that they barely escaped him rather than only wins, since I know how this is gonna end before the video even starts.

I think Legend actually does this from time to time. There was a video where he had to save a disaster against lizardmen (can't remember which one exactly). He won that one, but he also explained that it took him like a dozen tries because the whole situation was quite screwed. I also think that many people send in battles that are not too difficult and I often thought "even I could beat that!".
Once he had a battle with Archaon against the Empire, that was my favourite one, he barely survived with 10% health on Archaon in the end 😁
@justjelmer6654 Considering the likes some people think the same. I am talking about huge battles where Legend managed to take out 90% of enemy forces, but still lost. His mantra is "if I lose I never upload it" I think that's boring.
he is supposed to win these battles so he can send back the savefile so the player can continue the Campaign
@@processing4426 the challenge isn't to never lose. The challenge is to send the save file back so less experienced players can learn and continue their campaigns. It's literally called Saving YOUR Disaster Battle.

Quantity over quality is pretty much what this battle is. You don't need super buffed op doomstacks of your best unit in order to win. You can win with your worst unit and have fun while doing it.
and 2 units to carry the entire battle(wizard for damage/ calvary for artillery)
IF your idea of fun is sending every other battle against a mediocre stack to Legend to play it for you.

It's actually fun in late game when they end up with 200+ armor, though less op than in wh2.
I always have them as around half of my main army, they make a good defensive frontline with buffs and allow me to use a good amount of knights and artillery/bows without wanting to commit seppuku dealing with the sheer amount of micro

A while back when I was playing SFO TWWH2 I went full infantry and artillery as Brettonia in a mulitplayer campaign, in that it was pretty easy and effective when manual fighting but with the absolutely worst auto resolve in history. This is like someone took that special needs army and pushed it down the stairs then sent it to Legend to save.

This was not nearly as dire as the thumbnail suggested. You had like 6-7 archers and a caster.
