That’s a hard no. I’m not living in a high rise on the beach in Florida. There’s a good chance it’ll be coming down prematurely at some point.
Why I truly love South Florida - it’s because we have so many different options and formats of housing: from ocean front apartments to amazing gated communities way west of Collins Ave
Your actually completely wrong. Those buildings can withstand category 5 hurricanes or more, and are the safest place to be during a tsunami. All the glazing is hurricane proof and there’s no need for storm shutters anymore. You could literally watch the hurricane pass through and be minimally inconvenienced.
@@JeremeyHowlett tell that to all those people that died when the last condo building went down. It’s Florida, I wouldn’t trust the building quality of a high rise if you payed me. Besides, all that land will be gone in a few years anyway.
@@dahak972 that’s just not true, south Florida has some of the strictest building codes in the world. Plus the Miami Beach peninsula has actually grown in land area, contrary to what people hear on the news.
