Eddie's dad is an OG.
***** Original Gangster.
***** so you spell juice with a g? Guice
+Kenny Nam lol
@@Eatzdiary lmfao, was gonna say the exact same thing!
@@galenites Lmao...You're special
Eddie has an awesome dad. Extremely fortunate. He was raised to be confident and lead, rather than being obedient and follow. That alone decides a kid's future.
well said
SMG Scorpion well after reading his memoir I just thought he was a bit of a dick
Ben Schatz I don’t think they actually made amends I think they r just doing it for the camera
I bet his dad was a hard ass growing up. What you see on camera is not what you see off camera. When Eddie bounced from law, I bet his dad just didn't say "oh well" but instead railed him and ripped him a new one. I'm sure his dad has chilled out over the years. I can only image what it was like to be under that household.
Parents change when they start a new life in another country, when they get older
At some point after hearing, "ni hao," it sounded like meows to me.
i thought so too!!!!! O_O
that why everyone says taiwanese accent is cute as fuck
CL Wu nah is kinda annoying to me idk why XD
haha yesss!.
+Hulio Ortiz ME TOO! This is too polite, Im not used to it. lol
Eddie's dad is really nice. Kind and accepting. A good proper dad.
The Cat ngl I guess they made amends but he was physically and verbally abusive when Eddie was growing up
The alligator whip!
@@tanzeelkhan9658 the abuse came out of love
@@Martin-X that is the asian standard of raising a son.
I sense the sarcasm
As a Taiwanese-American teenager, I can say that the part where they go to Yang Ming San to visit his grandfather was so visceral and that it hit so close to home it actually made me cry a little bit. I could actually relate to the exact feeling and memory of visiting that place and paying my respect to my family who came before me.
For so many of us, we all felt the same way.
this was a touching segment. i really enjoyed watching father, son and the visit to the granpa's resting place. awesome!
Papa huang's little speech about eddie almost brought a panda tear to my eye
"Dad I've been workin out. Do i look like i lost some weight?"
Dad: Nah but you look good.
lmfao
Straight dad with a little lovely
I’m a Mexican American and I’m living in Taipei teaching English at DaZhi elementary and I felt good to watch this and I love seeing them at the end playing at Mei’ti Park by the river!! I love to run there! Taipei has opened my eyes and I’ve enjoyed my time here . Been here since Aug 2018, and leave back to Cali in December (intern teaching so not long term) . I’m blessed to come here and learn and also experience Taiwan culture . Amazing
Man his dad is such a chilled dude. So cool
All that ni hao became meow as soon as Eddie and his dad went to their seats, Eddie's a great guy. Major props to you brother.
that shit was funny even for me as a Chinese :')
😂
Awe his dad said: “my son is brave and courageous. I am proud of him.” Favorite episode!
Eddie's dad is a cool old guy, and clearly very proud of his son.
Much respect. Your visit to see your grandad touched my heart. I, too, like you, is the first generation of Chinese overseas. I think we may have had similar experiences growing up & being educated abroad.
Lol really? They were visiting. Dust
+Anthony Zavala It's more about the meaning behind it man.
Yes. Ever heard of the term "paying your respects" to someone? So according to you, funerals are a joke too.
Man, grow up & learn about respect. You'll need it someday.
Eddie's Dad is cool as fuck.
Dingtaifung is one of those things that you loved as a kid and still loves as an adult.
Nice ending. I lost my dad just a month ago and you have a great father with wonderful values. much respect to you and your pops. excellent show, big props.
peace ~
I dont know why but I somehow feel fulfilled watching this one. His dad. So genuine. Gawd it touched me
Everybody talking about the religious part, and im here like.
Eddie graduated college, got a job and passed the Bar on his 1st try! Smart dude
And here I was thinking he's just a funny high guy, dudes smart af
The scenes with his dad are so touching. I really enjoy Eddie.
Old man Huang got skills on the court!!
This is my first time watching these episodes so I'm glad they reuploaded them.
Probably the best show on Vice. You're a Legend bro!
One of the best FOB episodes so far, and on munchies.
This kind of hurt to watch. Not in a bad way on the show. Just personally as a Chinese/Taiwanese American. I was pretty much a neglected third child who was never taught anything and discouraged by my family, often with complete indifference regarding how it affected me because I was just the youngest child who just needs to catch up to my siblings who are 3-6 years older. I'm pretty sure my father has Aspergers along with other issues that can probably be traced back to his lineage (there's some serious history I'd rather omit but he's very proud to brag about.) Looking beyond my messed up cultural and social upbringing, I have no choice but to just forgive and keep moving forward with my life.
It means a lot for me to see a great episode like this. It just sucks to see an example of something I can relate to but not have when it comes to the cultural benefits of being Chinese American. My mother's parents seem to be the most sane people in my family tree but, they were killed by a drunk driver before I was born. My mom never tells me about her family besides a few instances of how her siblings treated her. When I did a solo hike of the Appalachian Trail and kept an online journal, she started telling me that I think just like her father. So here I am today... I'm just an American. I don't speak Chinese, I don't know anything of my ethnic culture, I know almost nothing of my family history, and I've never even been to that side of the world. It would be an understatement to say how much I want to just leave behind everything I know and start fresh.
Should read his book fresh off the boat. Itd really connect with you
Cheer up Bro, I understand how you feel. I'm also a child of Chinese immigrant, but I don't really have any meaningful relationship with my father. In fact, I fuckin hate and despise him and his relatives.
Not everyone is as lucky as Eddie, to have a Chinese father who is open minded.
Perhaps you could go to Asia and see what it's really like? If you want to learn more about your ethnic background try taking classes and spending time with Chinese people? Everyone has their own path to take but that's just my experience. I never really spoke or read Chinese/ Cantonese until I went to HK&China to live and made a specific aim of learning the language and culture...
Yes, I could. First I would like to see other parts of the world. I don't want to set any roots or trace my roots just yet.
Craig Tsao good luck man, everyone Has to find their own way but when you do its awesome
Eddie's dad is so sweet and supportive.
We need more of this father/son love & respect in the world....Honoured to see such a private moment shared in front of there grandfather... Inspirational stuff indeed....
Favorite episode. Had no idea you were a lawyer and you passed the bar on the first try. I admire you for that 🙌🏽
I love Eddie's dad! Supporting a son doing what he wants to do rather than what the father wants him to do is amazing! Props!
love your dad's success-perm, props
Dat claire de lune touched my heart. Thx for the reuploads
Thank you to Eddie Huang for letting us into your life like this. Much appreciated and respected.
Much respect. Your dad is awesome.

Little did he know his book would be the best show ever
Makes me reminisce the times I had with my grandfather when I was a kid before he passed on due to stroke. Touching episode.
I wish my Dad can hang out with me like this......
I wanted to see his mom! And his brothers too! He looks a lot like his dad!
tradition is everything in family
one of the most beautiful episodes of this entire series. props !
Now I know where Eddie gets his style of humour from; Based Fob.
Much love and respect to you and your family Eddie. Very inspiring.
Eddie's videos are awesome.

What a heart warming episode. This episode is what made me a huge fan of Eddie, and I hope to see much more from him on this channel and on ABC.
The freshest episode ever!

Loving these series
this makes me look at the ABC show in a way different light....i love it even more!
Beautiful episode and family. I never like a video on youtube unless it's special...this one just earned a like. Great video Eddie, the crew, and Vice.
Your dad is a legend Eddie. :-)
This was a really nice episode with your dad, my favourite one because of it.
Eddies dad throwing shade at the Japanese hahah
Best episode!
i wish my dad would high 5 me like that, cool dad
Jun Chen youll appreciate when you get older lol
+Dr. SuperFunk You probably wouldn't have enjoyed how he used to beat up his wife and kids when they were younger.
I read his book Fresh Off The Boat. His relationship with his dad wasn't always like that. I think all parents become cooler when you're an adult, you start to relate to them more.
hell heah this episode is the most inspiring one out of all 3 seasons.
The Ni Hao eventually devolved in my mind as cats meowing as it began to get constant.
that was emotional man, great episode
great episode
What a dad. What a family.

Amazing series, more Eddie please.
New all time favorite
Eddies dad looks like he could be his older brother.
Damn, I cried so much.
Eddie has a big heart and I fucking love him, he's really down to earth.
best munchies upload yet.
This is one of my favorite episodes. Eddie is an individual but he doesn't forget his culture and customs. Today, people don't like embracing their cultures. I love how proud he is of his son.
