We Just Took Hennessey's VelociRaptor 600 Off-Roading!

Hennessey built the VelociRaptor to double down on everything that makes the #Ford F-150 #Raptor so perfect for hardcore desert driving. With more power from the EcoBoost V6, a three-inch lift, bigger wheels and tires, plus bumpers and lights, the gigantic VelociRaptor 600 definitely looks the part. But sometimes a ton of modifications can mess with driving dynamics, so HotCars host Michael Van Runkle took the #VelociRaptor straight out to the dirt where it belongs to find out whether #HennesseyPerformance builds a legit truck or not.
Testing on washboard trails and rutted roads, the VelociRaptor doesn't disappoint. No, it's not the famous 6x6 conversion but that beast might be too much for anyone who lives outside of Texas given that the 4x4 version already feels enormous on the roads of West LA. Buckle up, though, because this 6,000-pound truck with 558 hp and an ungodly 672 lb-ft of torque can do 0-60 in only 4.2 seconds on the tarmac, which means plenty of dirt and dust sprayed all over the bright Code Orange paint job.

That lift is way too big. The factory height keeps the center of gravity low for better maneuverability and lower risk of rollover. The lift also, in the front end, takes away down travel and changes shock behavior from its original programming since the wheel position sensors are now always lower at ride height (they attach to the upper control arms).

Raptor comes with a Torsen front diff. .... which is a locking / gear on gear diff.
The thing is a marvel of engineering. Look at the animation of how it works sometime.
