  • Do you need bigger injectors? I cover how we concluded I was maxing out the stock injectors, and an update on a new set of 550cc long nozzle injectors that might be the perfect solution whether you are on pump gas or E85. Enjoy Boost merch: drivendistrict...
    If further testing goes as planned, then these big injectors will be available on drivendistrict... and will fit the Fiat 124 Spider, Fiat 500 Abarth and other cars with the 1.4L MultiAir Turbo Engine. They are drop in fit and keep the long nozzle or tip just like the OEM injector style.
    If you're just tuned running bolt-on mods on the stock turbo, you may not run into this issue. Even some folks with a bigger turbo might not run into this. But it's a good idea when going to a bigger turbo upgrade in your 124 Spider or Abarth 500, you might want to start keeping an eye on your AFR, how boost reacts in each gear, as you could possibly be maxing out your stock injectors.

    Great stuff. I would love to get a set of those injectors. Hopefully you will be able to post a set to the UK?

      Of course, as long as further testing goes as planned, then I will carry them on the site and I will price out shipping accordingly to the UK 👍 Thanks!

    My tuner got abarth gt1446 hybrid 310hp 470nm stock engine. He said 390cc enough for small td04 and gt1446 , 550cc is also good choise but too much for at least tjet engines .
    What about your gearbox? Is clutch upgraded?

    curious whether the big injectors will affect 1st and 2nd and 3rd or only come in to play with 4th. are you going to do pre post 40 to 100's or something to get numerical difference?

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  Před 2 lety

      Yes it helps in every gear because of the AFR. They were way too lean in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear, then in 4th they would look good but that was because it was pulling boost in 4th. I may have forgotten to mention it in the video, but on my current test with 550cc injectors, AFR was 11.x in all gears (once in a while hitting 10 which is understandable since i'm on my old tune still). So going to bigger injectors helped all the issues I had which was going lean in lower gears, and dropping boost in higher gears. And yes i'll do more 40-100mph tests...that first 2nd-4th gear comparison pull where it dropped boost to 17psi in 4th was only from a few weeks ago and I got 9.74sec, the full video for that is here: czcams.com/video/cA9eKeC5a7Q/video.html I will do the test again soon to compare. I would think that little bit up top in 4th gear that holds more boost should help before it crosses 100mph.

    Will any of these improvements help a Dart? I am upgrading with the 1446+ and ported polished manifold from EC in a few weeks. I have the ported TB from modern performance, under drive pulley, forge wastegate, alpha coil packs, EC silicon charge pipes, ATP catted down pipe, resonator and muffler delete. I have a hand tuner I bought off another dart owner with a P2 tune on it. Looking to upgrade to P3. Plus I have the Madness wireless throttle mod. Will what you're doing with injectors work with my setup? The Dart is so heavy. I have DDCT auto trans sxt model. Thanks

      Yes. Actually after my testing EC made it a requirement now for Phase 3 to have larger 550cc injectors because I was maxing my stock injectors on Phase 3 initially. Since this video I have switched over to the ATP/Bosch 550cc (i'm still on pump 93). And with my newest tune revision from EC, the car is pulling really strong now! You can watch my latest video here doing some pulls and data testing with the 1446+ Turbo and Phase 3 tune: czcams.com/video/E8Dz7Ro3cJc/video.html I'm a dealer as well for EC tunes & parts. I'm not sure if you purchased the turbo & manifold yet but we have it here as well: drivendistrict.com/collections/eurocompulsion-performance-parts/products/eurocompulsion-1446-big-turbo-upgrade If you have any questions or want to chat further about purchasing any Eurocompulsion parts you can always shoot me a DM on Instagram as well. Btw, how do you like the modern performance throttle body and under drive pulley? Did you notice a difference? I was debating on them but haven't heard the best so wasn't sure if it's worth it.

      Yo my man!!!, you’re just the guy I’ve been searching for for a VERY long time.
      Unfortunately since I posted this question, I found two holes in my C635 tranny case. Yup you guessed it. Blew apart all my gears in the tranny. My mechanic found it WHILE he was installing the 1446+ and manifold. Can’t make it up.
      Long story short, I’ve been through 3 trannys and all wouldn’t sync. Wrong part #. Now I’m on tranny #4. Waiting for hydraulic oil. We have the gear oil. Fingers are crossed that this tranny will work.
      That said, …. If…. All goes well with this install, I got zero clue how to calibrate all these mods.
      Lol
      I’m a semi noob.
      I still haven’t transferred the hand held tuner into my name yet from the guy I bought it off.
      Why? Cause Darts consume MONEY. Like almost all of my money.
      Wastegate at 6mm?
      Keeping it from limp mode is key.
      Do I need the boost fix trick?
      I still need to install 2 oil catch cans
      Still need to upgrade the big 3
      Still need to delete resonator and muffler
      Etc etc.
      One thing at a time.

      Sorry. To answer, the ported TB and under drive pulley made ALL the difference. Those were the first things I did along with typhoons CAI and the timing belt and pulley kit. Iridium plugs , coil upgrades etc. All those WITHOUT EC charge pipes, down pipe and turbo made the car noticeably quicker at higher speeds and rpms. 60-100 was much quicker.
      I can’t wait to see what happens with a P3 tune! If I can get 220 hp, that’d be enough.

    Have you done 1/4 mile test since phase 3

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  Před 2 lety +2

      Not yet, winter here since I had it on and wouldn't get a good traction when launching. I'm gonna do some 40-100mph tests again as that's my go to for performance comparisons, and then eventually some 1/4 mile and 0-60mph tests. My most recent 40-100 is here: czcams.com/video/cA9eKeC5a7Q/video.html This video compares 40-100mph from Phase 1, 2, 3 and someone else's stock numbers: czcams.com/video/DYA7fKdFXDQ/video.html

      @@DrivenDistrict Looks good. I watched the other videos. Curious the mph this will do. Any chance of a 100-200 run?
