- Trying to figure out what is causing my loss of power and P1516 code, If this doesn't fix it I will make another video. It's over 90 degrees and i just unloaded a trailer full of bark and stuff from the tree and I'm tired.
It is very important to keep the throttle body clean along with the MAF sensor (mass air flow).
I got a reduced power indication on my dash & the car (07 Pontiac G5 2.2ltr eco-tec) has been well taken care of mechanically however, forbthe last year or so, I haven't had any issues since a alternator failure a year or so ago. I started the car the night b4 Christmas Eve & it was Very cold prob 0° to 10° with a minus 20° windchill. Had to pry the doors open/frozen shut. Didn't wait for it to warm up but for a minute or 2, drove about 1 mile away, & i reved the car a bit b4 shutting it off & going into a store but, when I left, it did not crank the 1st try but, it started unwillingly on the second try but started missing & that's when I got the reduced power message. I am wondering If I just need to clean the throttle body? I changed 2 of the 3 motor mounts several months ago & I wonder if maybe it's causing the motor to pull one way or another stressing any ground wires. If I am being real honest, whenbi purchased a new alternator from a Auto Z place, when the car idles, it seems as if the voltage is dropping a bit to much as if the pulley size is off a bit?
Did it fix the problem for good?
Did that fix it. Did you have any other issues after driving it more
I ended up selling the truck but that seemed to take care of it
The guy you mentioned, Was it Ivan?
Yup
