My UNIMOG "S" 404.111 was made 1955 and was delivered to the french army. It is one of the 1210 initial series with a shorter wheelbase (2620 mm) and 85 PS (~hp). So the "S" was build from 1955 to 1980. 64.242 were build if you don't count the less than 20 prototyps. Your model was not a troop carrier but it was a military ambulance vehicle, as you say. Your engine has nominal 82 PS (~hp). I appreciate that you didn't change the engine by a Diesel one, because the sound of the petrol engine makes this UNIMOG so unique and recognizable.

Nice mog dude. I've also got a 404 ex German army radio box with the swingfire heater that still works. I've put a woodburner in it too ,I love the simplicity of them and they will do 60mph if you get the engine tuning spot on. Great vidio👍

Weird question, how tall are you? I heard it isn't very comfortable for large folk. I'm 6 foot 4 and thinking about buying one.

As far as I know the engine was also used in cars with double or twin carburettors, producing ~ 120+ hp. Should it be worth trying to convert it?
