I've been living off a wireless charger for about 7 months and finally got it back to normal. I bought a tooth brush and rubbing alcohol, scrubbed out the charging port until it was super clean inside. Then I used a blow drier on it for about 5 minutes.
It still said it was displaying moisture, with the phone still turned on I slowly (and I mean very slowly) began inserting the charging cable into the port. This time I heard the charging sound following by the moisture alert, I pressed okay and bam.. It started charging.
For a phone that cost close to $800AU, the Samsung S9+ I expected better, I firmly believe it was a bug.. just doesn't make sense why slowly inserting the cable worked for me.
Give this a go if you're out of ideas, it's worth a shot, good luck!

I am also a comrade having the same problem till a week ago..I don't know whether this is some kind of software issue or hardware issue...but one thing is for sure. This "moisture detected in your usb port"came suddenly out of nowhere when we didn't even had moisture or any other particles on the port. But after having this problem for a half year I will say that, this issue vanished suddenly into thin air....without leaving a single trace....I am not telling the solution to this problem but just that it went suddenly. It's no more popping in my notification panel.for roughly 6-7 months I used my android by charging it after switching off and inserting the charger the moment the logo came....but after so many months suddenly this thing disappeared.

    @zak526 Před 5 lety +5

The only way to fix it is as follows:
I had this problem for about 5 months until 3 weeks ago when I got fed up with it. All you need is rubbing alcohol, a spare toothbrush electric or other, and a hair dryer. Dip the brush in the alcohol and scrub inside the usb port for about 10-15 minutes dipping repeatedly. Then once you can see either on the bristles or with a flashlight that it is now clean inside you use the hair dryer. Set it to medium or low and blow dry holding the phone so that the usb port is facing down towards the ground for about 10 minutes. Then wait 5 minutes plug it in and voila no more issues. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't had the error once. Almost feels like a brand new phone! Cheers all hope this helped you!

Can I ask what actually happens when you clear the usb setting data from the Samsung s8? Experiencing same issue, message only appear minimal amounts and then disappearing. I'm just worried that it will clear all my personal info including photographs if you could shed some light on purpose of clearing data within USB settings?
      Thanks in advance

If you have this problem I would suggest:
    - Blowing air through the port
    - use a dry tooth brush and slowly brush the edge of the port
    - leave the phone to dry through out the day
    - leave your phone in an inclosed box full of rice for at least 20 hours
    - blow dry the port (hot air is OK but not to hot).
    - If you tried all of these and know for sure that there is no water then this could be a case of notification bug which you may have to look on the Internet for a fix.
For my Samsung S10 - locate android system on settings by typing in the search bar and hit the 'force stop' option, restart your phone.

Perfect mate.. Doubted fix 3 but it worked perfectly! Tried cleaning and drying the port and all connectors but that didn't change anything. Must be some bug where if it triggers with water once, it sticks in the system memory and isn't removed. Genius!

I did not say get a wireless charger, I have had cases where witless charging still worked despite the error, seems that will work only in some cases. Plus I gave several solutions one is bound to work so if you don't have a wireless charger try the other easier options.

Wow! I should have looked for this like a year ago. Ive been dealing with the moisture issue for more than a year and figured that I would have to get a new phone. I did figure on my own about wireless charging which is what I had been using, but all of my space on the phone was gone b/c I couldnt transfer everyything to my external hard drive. So I tried the alcohol in the port space then did step #2 where I turn the phone off then plug it in on the startup. Viola! Outrageous that it's taken me over a yr to find this out. Last night I freed up about 15 GB. Now I need to figure where the bulk of my storage space is at b/c I only have about 4 GB of photos which I will soon transfer, but that still leaves abou 45GB of used space....any suggestions out there? Maybe number of apps?
Thanks so much for the help here...major fix!

I dried my port with a tissue and I guess it worked
My issue was that my phone got wet when i was doing the dishes
    I only have the j6plus
And the sim wasnt functioning anymore so i panicked and used a hairdryer only to find out that it didnt work
    Sooo i used tissue
Same goes for my charging port
I panicked cause my battery is flicking between charging and being used
Soo i used another tissue and rubbed the port until it dried
Hmmm guys i think tissue is the key
    Happy new year anyways
